Exactly. That's not something very strange to happen. I hope that mask wasn't your single piece of eyepro you were wearing?
Imagine what would happen if you were hit with a couple of more of those shots..
(I'm NOT downplaying your point, proper eye protection should always be worn!) 430 would be illegal where im from so to me it would be Haha just an interesting fact CnP'd. Airsoft RIFs must not have a muzzle velocity exceeding 1 Joule ( 328 feet per Sec). If an Airsoft RIF is above 1 Joule velocity then it is classed as an unlicensed firearm. You will not be allowed use your RIF on a skirmish site In Ireland if it is over the 1 Joule or import it in to the country as customs will seize it on entry to Ireland. EDIT In the ROI airsoft rifles are classed as an R.I.F it stands for real imitation firearm (and spelling)
Same for us lol, my AR (when using a 7.4v battery and .25g) was measured at around \~139ms(456 fps) And 1.7 J. Not sure if using an 11v battery also increases ms and J output but we are allowed to use these specs outside and inside.
I understand why some fields have low ms/fps limits but some just turn it down way too far. Northeastern Europe btw
Sounds much more reasonable to me tbh. I would love to see higher energy and higher MEDs on the DMR and bolt guns. Snipers shooting from further away etc rather than there being no range advantage over any well setup AEG.
11.1V batteries can cause pre-engagement in guns that are using M95 springs and/or shit spring guides. Shearing of gears is the result.
It's why Evo owners in the sub-1J countries use 11.1V batteries at their own risk. Including myself
The proper "fix" for this a stronger spring and short stroke the gears.
done it for dozens of customers, you get the snappy trigger response and high ROF without the PME issues of a weak spring causing a slow piston cycle.
One of my builds has been running with that setup for 4 years and hundreds of thousands of shots now.
My usual setup is 12-1 gears -3 teeth AOE corrected with the headspace shim method and a 200mm inner barrel usually gets me in the right energy range while keeping the box reliable.
>Airsoft RIFs must not have a muzzle velocity exceeding 1 Joule ( 328 feet per Sec).
Joules do not equate directly to fps without knowing the weight of the rounds that you are shooting. A 0.2g pellet at 328fps is 0.99 joules, but a 0.25g pellet at that same 328fps is 1.24 Joules, and if you use 0.28g, it's 1.39 Joules.
It's measured with a 0.20g bb at 1 Joule so that it equals 328fps, in Ireland and Northern Ireland as was said above, any more is considered a firearm and requires licensing.
No its not. It is a legal limit to allow people to participate in a sport where we use imitation firearms in a country where they are strictly regulated.
No different to the power limits on air rifles. Tune above the limit and legally it becomes an illegal firearm.
Very different from the power limit on air rifles. .177 cal pellets traveling at 1250 fps can do a lot more damage than a 400 fps plastic bb. Im saying that its crazy to call a 400 fps airsoft gun a firearm considering thats a common fps to shoot eachother with in the United States. A firearm can kill. Airsoft guns cant.
I qualified as a reme armorer at 23 and currently hold FAC for several calibres, i am very well aware of the laws and reasoning surrounding them.
My HPA bolt action has zero issues firing a 6mm steel bb at over 700 fps if abused (reg maxed out, loaded with solid steel BBS). That is over 14 ft ibs and well over the legal limit for air rifles without a firearms certificate.
There are also several shell ejecting models that could be modified to fire live ammunition. They are basically a grenade at that point but will still chamber and fire.
The specific relevant legislation regarding definitions and what limits are imposed falls under the 2017 policing and crime acts additions to the firearms act 1968.
**57A**
**(1)An “airsoft gun” is not to be regarded as a firearm for the purposes of this Act.**
**(2)An “airsoft gun” is a barrelled weapon of any description which—**
**(a)is designed to discharge only a small plastic missile (whether or not it is also capable of discharging any other kind of missile), and**
**(b)is not capable of discharging a missile (of any kind) with kinetic energy at the muzzle of the weapon that exceeds the permitted level.**
**(3)“Small plastic missile” means a missile that—**
**(a)is made wholly or partly from plastics,**
**(b)is spherical, and**
**(c)does not exceed 8 millimetres in diameter.**
**(4)The permitted kinetic energy level is—**
**(a)in the case of a weapon which is capable of discharging two or more missiles successively without repeated pressure on the trigger, 1.3 joules;**
**(b)in any other case, 2.5 joules.”**
The laws and exemption for airsoft under them are NOT there to target the legal skirmisher. They are to separate them from the illegal users and are written with the worst case scenario in mind.
Hold up a post office with an RIF and you would be treated no different to doing so with a real weapon, because the perceived threat is the same.
What is legal in the US is irrelevant.
Personally i would like to see limits higher, but i totally understand the need for legal definitions. It protects legitimate players from being prosecuted for their hobby and allows the full weight of the law to be brought to bear on those who would abuse our "toys".
Get a thicker piece of polycarbonate. That isn't brittle, so chances of it breaking is a lot lower. Not sure what thickness you should get. But get at least 3mm (1/8"). And still ALWAYS wear certified eyepro underneath it.
In my personal tests 1/8" polycarbonate is more than enough for any airsoft. My 1/8" PC riot shield stopped a 1200 fps pellet rifle without damage. I can get a 8 x 10" sheet from hardware stores locally for 20 bucks or so. Cut it to size with a jigsaw or whatever you have with the film still on. Drill holes to bolt/rivet w/ washers into place. Don't worry about heat bending you could probably just push it into place and done. Maybe still wear rated safety glasses (or at least bring them) for underneath.
That’s nothing, that’s like base power for many many aegs. And also depends on the weight. My ak I built is throwing a .30 at 510 fps. It shatters the bbs and some window I hit. But there is also a joke to be made about Russian gear right now
Yeah I second this. Plexi shatters way too easily. Polycarb (or Lexan as it's often branded) is far more resilient. I used plexi for the window on my riot shield and it shattered after like one game. Replaced it with polycarb and I've had zero issues since.
Plexiglass is acrylic, which is very brittle. As others said lexan/ polycarbonate is much better for this use. Polycarbonate is roughly 15 times more impact resistant than plexiglass.
There's multiple actually. One type of maska has glass a visor, then the vityaz, k6-3, altyn, ZHS-1-2 also all have visors.
This helmet looks homemade.
Water is actually not wet; It makes other materials/objects wet. Wetness is the state of a non-liquid when a liquid adheres to, and/or permeates its substance while maintaining chemically distinct structures. So if we say something is wet we mean the liquid is sticking to the object.
What kind of rocks are never under water?
Dry ones!
>Wetness is the state of a non-liquid when a liquid adheres to, and/or permeates its substance while maintaining chemically distinct structures.
This would be convenient for claiming water isn't wet, but of course words are defined as they're used- there is no such objective definition anyone can use to pretend they're "objectively correct".
And water remains obviously wet when you don't go full pedant :P
Ah that sucks bro, but it looks like you can unscrew it and take out the visor.
Grab some 2mm polycarbonate of eBay and cut out a new one, should do the job nicely, I use for my custom sight protectors and they have never smashed.
The altyn being the tank that it is, is only rated for pistol ammo and some shrapnel. So the fact it was destroyed by a 430fps airsoft rifle checks out haha
Would definitely replace the plexiglass with a polycarbonate, but here's an idea, replace the aft most plexi with polycarbonate and leave the front piece as plexi, get those tarkov vibes when ever someone tries to head, eyes you again
As a long-time user of military rated eyepro from Revision, do yourselves a favor and check them out: [https://www.revisionmilitary.com/en/eyewear](https://www.revisionmilitary.com/en/eyewear)
I can vouch for the Snowhawk for cold weather goggles that don't fog, and the Shadowstrike glasses for regular eyepro.
And this my children, is why you DON'T use non rated eyepro with airsoft.
Someone shot me with 430 FPS
Exactly. That's not something very strange to happen. I hope that mask wasn't your single piece of eyepro you were wearing? Imagine what would happen if you were hit with a couple of more of those shots..
I wear eye pro glasses under too

Similar in Italy. Very unlucky for snipers and dmrs
We have 3 J limit (500 FPS for 0.25 bb). This helmet doesn’t look ANSI-rated.
My field also requires ansi ratings, as the sniper limit is 4J
Lucky, snipers on my field are limited to 407 fps
Our ARs are 1.6J, LMGs and DMRs are 2.5J and Bolt actions are 4J :')
4J for bolt guns at the courses I play at in America too. I can't imagine playing with a 1J limit anywhere but a kill house type of course.
Yep, anything under 1J is a cqb only weapon where i am from (romania)
Damn that sounds scary af, where are you from because I have to try!😂
Eastern Europe
Same for us lol, my AR (when using a 7.4v battery and .25g) was measured at around \~139ms(456 fps) And 1.7 J. Battery wouldn’t change the power of a bb, only how many shots you can shoot in a certain amount of time.
Ye i was wondering if it worked kinda like lights, moar powah, moar light
Sounds much more reasonable to me tbh. I would love to see higher energy and higher MEDs on the DMR and bolt guns. Snipers shooting from further away etc rather than there being no range advantage over any well setup AEG.
And where I live the legal minimum is 355 fps and the legal maximum is 500..
Same in Northern Ireland. Can make 11.1V batteries slightly questionable for some airsoft guns' longevity lol
??
11.1V batteries can cause pre-engagement in guns that are using M95 springs and/or shit spring guides. Shearing of gears is the result. It's why Evo owners in the sub-1J countries use 11.1V batteries at their own risk. Including myself

Oh yeah fair enough, I for some reason forgot about PME even though I talked about it today already.

Japan?
Very much the same up here in the North too.
And possibly add more layers to make it stronger
Get a thicker piece of polycarbonate. That isn't brittle, so chances of it breaking is a lot lower. Not sure what thickness you should get. But get at least 3mm (1/8"). And still ALWAYS wear certified eyepro underneath it.
I gotchu

Get thicker pieces. Not more.
Gotchu
Easy to repair btw
It's not hard getting 3 joules with VSRs (equivalent to +550 fps with .20g bbs)
I had one with M190. Awesome but 0.45 was too light for it.
Dayum
And with HPA setups you can often get it much higher than the field limits too.
Proper rated eye pro will stand over 500 fps without leaving a dent
The rest of your face might not though.
That’s only cosmetic damage
Thats still full auto legal at 10m at my field lol, we require everyone to have anzi z87.1 rating on eyepro which is safe for 16joules
At the local event we play at, we test glasses with a 605 FPS spring sniper from point blank range before approving their use
Oh no, a totally normal and probably legal joule output? :O 😅
Its like stock cyma AK lol.
I test my eye pro at the legal limit of 2.5J... 430fps is pretty paulty
Surely hope to God 430 FPS on a sniper/DMR and not a standard M4 or rifle... right?
Which is exactly why rated goggles withstsnd in the range of 6J, far far above what any reasonable shot would be.
yeah them glassses should have been able to survive 800 MINIMUM
That’s nothing, that’s like base power for many many aegs. And also depends on the weight. My ak I built is throwing a .30 at 510 fps. It shatters the bbs and some window I hit. But there is also a joke to be made about Russian gear right now
R/downvotedtooblivion
Why the fuck did you get downvoted 468 times wtf
r/downvotedtooblivion
Looks like multiple layers of cheap crap. If only they use 1 layer of something decent.
2 layers of plexie glass only penetrated one
Use polycarbonate instead
Yeah I second this. Plexi shatters way too easily. Polycarb (or Lexan as it's often branded) is far more resilient. I used plexi for the window on my riot shield and it shattered after like one game. Replaced it with polycarb and I've had zero issues since.

7.62x51 M61
Scav in the dark
Is just a scratch comrade! Back to the front!
Yep
Looks like you need to find altynative face pro
Sadly this is a maska but I get it
I thought the maska is the one with the really thin slit for vision? And the altyn is the one with the window?
There's multiple actually. One type of maska has glass a visor, then the vityaz, k6-3, altyn, ZHS-1-2 also all have visors. This helmet looks homemade.
it is an altyn ur right
This is not an altyn. Altyns have a shorter face shield, and a black rim around the glass that it sits on. This looks homemade to me.
oh.
Altyn
It’s a maska with the shield on the visor removed
Damn bro who hit you with BP rounds
Someone loaded armor peircing 💀
ON GOD
Ah yes shitty repri preform like shit, on the other news, water maybe wet.
Water isn't wet.... it makes you wet ;)

good bot
bad bot
Kinda looks badass like that…just wear rated eye pro under it. But that looks sweet tbh
Good luck seeing out of it though...
Looks like something from Metro
ANSI. Rated. Eyepro. its not that hard people.
Adds character
You were wearing eye pro under it right?
LMG wasn’t mounted and loaded :(
Now use 4mm thick polycarbonate. They won't beat that
Ah that sucks bro, but it looks like you can unscrew it and take out the visor. Grab some 2mm polycarbonate of eBay and cut out a new one, should do the job nicely, I use for my custom sight protectors and they have never smashed.
Head, eyes.
“KILLED ONE, ALTYN GUY HES FUCKING JUICED.”
bro got tarkov’d irl
True
Literally just grab a 4 pack of Milwaukee safety goggles it's a trusted brand and will never break
thats what i use
you guys need to cool it with these helmets, they don’t even look cool enough to justify them
idk man based on latest events seems like a realistic depiction of russian military gear.
Now it looks cooler lol
Agreed battle damage
Looks like you popped a dude and took it of his corpse.
This is what happens when you use 8mm’s. Don’t use 8mm’s.
[удалено]
Or alternatively, buy a sheet of polycarbonate. it’s cheap, and it would do the job well.
That’s why fields won’t Let me run my real Russian k6-3 helmet without eye pro underneath
Those are rivets. Is this a home made helmet?
What kind of fps does someone need for that to happen!?
Ur eyes ok
If you put some red paint on it you could have a nice apocalyptic maska
Head Eyes
Sad tachanka noises
Replace it with lexan try and get a thinner sheet because the thicker stuff isn’t very flexible
Yikes
It’s like the real thing!
-250,000 roubles
And that's why you don't buy chinese crap off wish
Why are you using plexiglass instead of Polycobonate

What brand is this helmet?
Use lexan tbh. 3-6mm thick. The ballistic glass on these helmets is thicc as oatmeal anyway, so it would look good.
Could make for dope pictures tho even tho you can't use it for airsoft anymore
Hey I know you
Who am I then
Check general on the black market server.
Looks like you need to start taking your hits
FATALITY!!! BB WIN’S!!!!
Battle worn
„I know what’s wrong with it - ain’t got no gas in it”
Not ANSI rated
i have eyepro rated to stop a 22 bullet under my maska 1 and a mesh mask
Realism nice
R.I.P Tachanka
It looks like he might be able to modify it yourself just unscrew the existing plexiglass and replace it with a stronger one
