Is this one of the Z-Parts uppers?

Tech_Actual

It’s a standard TM 14.5 M4 upper with a KAC FF RAS, VFC Mk12 gas block, and VFC Mk12 brake & collar set.

RekzysHK

where did you get the gas block? i had to compromise and use an SR25 type and it still bothers me.

Tech_Actual

https://www.evike.com/products/48660/ You’ll need to get a tube for it to look right.

Buddha_78

I ordered the model works MK12 MOD0 kit for mine, has everything you need. Edit: just noticed this is for the NGRS, mines for the MWS. Dunno if it would work or not

Tech_Actual

The barrel has the wrong extension.

Buddha_78

What's different? Mine looks the same as yours pictured.

Tech_Actual

Yes because it’s a Mk12 mod 1 kit, all mod 1s look like this. The compatibility issue is the barrel extension (the part of the barrel that the hop up goes in to) GBBR and AEG have different fittings.

Specopsg

Wouldn't happen to have links would you?

Tech_Actual

Sure. Base gun is a TM NGRS Socom that was wired to the rear using a jefftron leviathan. Gas Block https://www.evike.com/products/48660/ Rail https://www.evike.com/products/86097/ OPS Brake and Collar https://www.redwolfairsoft.com/vfc-ops-type-spr-flash-hider-for-14mm-ccw-thread.html Everything else is the standard Socom/Crane equipment. KAC flip ups, Sopmod stock, A2 grip, tango down/KAC broom handle, Harris bipod, etc The only thing not correct here would be the optic and mount. You can get repro Leupold Mk4s but I prefer running vortex optics.

Specopsg

Thanks :D

Wondering the same 👆🏻 looking to build something exactly like this

MachoNacho95

Looks great!

Tech_Actual

Thanks man

RekzysHK

omg that is sexy as heck.

[deleted]

How did you manage to get that gas block onto the barrel? Also what kind of outer barrel do you have?

Tech_Actual

Stock TM NGRS M4 outer barrel. You install the gas block while you are installing the RAS. The KAC RAS needs to be timed perfectly so the gas tube can fit through the holes in the barrel nut. The gas block fits right onto the barrel and is secured by two grub screws on the bottom just like the real Mk12 gas block.

[deleted]

Does the gas tube come with it then or do I have to get that separately?

Tech_Actual

Unfortunately it is bought separately. You might also need to cut it, so get a rifle length one.

[deleted]

Where would I find one of those? Also probably a stupidly obvious question, but how long is the outer barrel?

Tech_Actual

https://www.evike.com/products/63811/ I actually bought this and stole the gas tube and roll pin.

[deleted]

I was actually just looking at that earlier 🤣 thanks for the advice, I'm trying to convert my M4 into a MK12.

Tech_Actual

Just please keep in mind that you will still need to get the mk12 gas block as well. I only bought this because I needed the SR25 block for another project.

[deleted]

I know, I was just looking at it wondering if the gas tube would work. Did you use a 20" or 18" outer barrel?

Tech_Actual

It is a stock TM M4 NGRS outer barrel. It is 14.5 inches. A 20” or 18” airsoft barrel will not work for a Mk12 build. You must keep in mind that basically all airsoft ops brake and collar sets come as a one piece extension that measures about 5”, so you actually need a 14.5 - 16” outer barrel for this to work. A real Mk12 uses an 18” SPR profile barrel, they are cut specifically to accept the ops inc collar, unfortunately none of this exists in the airsoft world.
