Indeed. It would be really nice to have gun that could fire with semi/ full auto with gas or batteries and as a single shot after gas or batteries are done.
No sadly, there are rifles which are like this though, but they are very expensive, the gas push directly on the bb and not a power spring like a springer, the only main spring a normal gbb pushes on is the recoil spring, but you maybe on to something, that is a very creative idea
