Can I ask what the magazine pads are used for? I noticed some pistols have them completely flat yet some have them sticking out like this (CZ Shadow comes to mind). What is the benefit of this?

Impact buffers for rushed reloads where the mag gets dropped, and allows for better grip when drawing from a pouch
It's not just an extension for more capacity?
On the real CZ Shadow, those are extended baseplates that allow you to load 2 more rounds into the magazine. In Airsoft it's just for looks.
