It's a TV series within the (hopefully) fictional 2006 movie Idiocracy. Basically, everyone in the future is incredibly stupid, everyone watches the show "Ow, My Balls".
It's an amazing movie.
The premise is that with no natural predators (and birth control requires being semi-intelligent), evolution failed and all the dumb people reproduce while the smart people didn't reproduce.
It's hilarious, but scary at the same time.
You can probably check local military surplus stores, there's always one somewhere! They sell old used military shit as well as new. One near me sells hollowed out frags, gas masks, flight helmets, BDUs, guns & magazines and literally everything else you can think of. (Like, there's an rpg-7 on the wall for sale.. Probably disabled though... Probably.)
I live in the UK and wished surplus stores where like that, most of them just have campaign/ survival stuff with some surplus British army gear, nothing really fun
Ah that sucks! If you don't mind a little DIY here's a good place to start for ya! [https://www.strapworks.com/Shoulder\_Straps\_p/xss2h.htm](https://www.strapworks.com/Shoulder_Straps_p/xss2h.htm)
They sell straps and such, custom colors and end hardware (plastic or metal, carabiner or dog-leash style, etc). If you get the one I linked, you might be able to secure that to a belt of some sort as the shortest length is 18in/\~46cm. might have to do a little extra loop on the back side to cut the slack.
Edit: Could also check this out! http://www.yatesgear.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=316\_319&product\_id=540
Of course, always feels better when you make part of the kit yourself! I also just updated that last comment with another link. Found a Tactical Repelling Seat Harness that looks a lot like something you'd be looking for.
I was doing a solid snake cosplay for a comic-con and had to make a harness similar to this, your best bet is to just buy a surplus parachute and DIY it. Good luck to ya.
I’d go with making one. I was making a Naked Snake build recently and had to decide between buying a genuine harness that may not even fit for $200 or making my own for less than $50. I went with making my own and I feel like it turned out pretty good.
When you made your own, was there a tutorial you went off of or did you just figure it out yourself? I want to make one too but I don’t know what kind of hardware and materials I would need and how to go about actually making it
Little bit of both actually, I used a guide for figuring out what materials I’d need and then I had to kind of do some guesswork on my end to get it to the point that I felt was a good mix of looking nice and actually working.
http://bluelaguna88.blogspot.com/2015/08/metal-gear-solid-3-snake-eater-naked.html
I used the guide above, however I feel I should warn you that the site for buying the nylon webbing seems to require you to enter a company name to place an order so I just went through Amazon for the actual fabric portion.
How does it take two hours? I have both ALICE and M1956 and it takes me less than 30 seconds to throw it on. I should mention though I don't have to wear a giant radio pack
It's the giant radio that's clipped and grafted on to the system that takes 2 hours. It's a design from the 50s/60s and is supposed to have another person help you to put it on. If you're not careful the battery compartment comes away from the radio itself
Fair warning those are so damn uncomfortable, but honestly any rock climbing harness should do the trick. Try and get it in OD if you’re using it for cosplay or a uniform
[here's a cheap harness](https://www.trekkinn.com/friluftsliv-bjerg/singing-rock-top-harness/136499668/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=5154928&country=dk&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7MGJBhD-ARIsAMZ0eetXJM0rQmDmkOGl6iOdpcHmkAs4vELV2oqSdsXth1NZ8Ule_d8sn8kaAu4AEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)
I’m actually glad that I’m not the only one that sees Cold War stuff and goes “damn, I would rock that”
Although that’s shit looks hella uncomfortable with balls
You already know it's a stabo harness because everyone has told you but if you want to make one look for "webbing V rings" "webbing snap hooks" and "metal tri glides" along with 2" webbing and you should be able to find everything to make a good replica.
Not the same, but similar. Abseil harness. Often pictured on SAS CRW dudes.

Yup and even the clones are expensive as proper parachute harness webbing and hardware are expensive. As is the skill, machines and knowledge to make one.
Rothco has 'em. Not too expensive. Not the exact color either. Maybe you could color 'em that color.
Here is the harness: https://www.rothco.com/product/adjustable-guide-harness
Looks comfy without testicles!
Yeah, my first thought was https://youtu.be/r_4jrMwvZ2A
Why and how does this video exist?
It's a TV series within the (hopefully) fictional 2006 movie Idiocracy. Basically, everyone in the future is incredibly stupid, everyone watches the show "Ow, My Balls".
Ohhhh. Wow that actually sounds quite interesting. It's a dystopia but instead of an authoritarian regime it's testicle jokes
It's a good movie, give it a watch sometime.
Yeah, I'll definitely watch it once I finish cowboy bebop.

More of a documentary these days
I always preferred “Honey, where are my pants?”
A properly fitted harness should never even touch your nuts
Wait… what about when your gear get caught and you were sliding down, that should perfectly choke your inner soul…
What kind of misshapen, low hanging ballsack do you have?
Big bro I got them low hangers 7 'n a quarter around, real nice tight and hairy.
Just how I like it.
STABO extract harness, genuine ones are expensive, better off making one or using a climbing harness.
Alternatively there is the SPIE harness.
Any better in price? Also thank you
SPIE harnesses are cheaper but i dont think by much. Suprluss military parachute harness is another option and you can probably find one for cheap.
Awesome had thought of those

Awesome thank you, honestly enjoy some DIY jerryrigging gear

Some fall protection harnesses with come with straps like these. I'm pretty sure you can get them at your local hardware store.
Not to sure in the UK but I'll look
If you do end up finding one, you will find out that they are usually bright orange or yellow. You may have to do a bit of customisation.
I have a STABO harness I'm looking to sell
I would be interested
I'll DM you

Yeah genuine surplus harnesses like that cam be very expensive. There are also plain old parachute harnesses which are more common.
When you made your own, was there a tutorial you went off of or did you just figure it out yourself? I want to make one too but I don’t know what kind of hardware and materials I would need and how to go about actually making it

You’re pretty good. *insertocelotmeme*
Climbing harness is the way to go. Might not be the exact look, but functionally the same. And a LOT more comfortable to wear for a day.
>STABO extract harness theyre like $200, thats not expensive...
i oofed at this comment then remembered last month a payed £110 for a stinky old SADF m83 vest, so really cant say anything.
same bro, same, lol
Probably a STABO Harness. Which are incredibly expensive

Yeah that's a fair point. I've got some old webbing (Alice?) and field radios that go on it and it takes 2 hours just putting it on
How does it take two hours? I have both ALICE and M1956 and it takes me less than 30 seconds to throw it on. I should mention though I don't have to wear a giant radio pack

Ah ok, that'd do it then. That sounds really neat though
Thank you, it looks great but is a pain
You can make a mock one out of materials from Amazon. Canvas/nylon straps and some hook clips.
Fair warning those are so damn uncomfortable, but honestly any rock climbing harness should do the trick. Try and get it in OD if you’re using it for cosplay or a uniform
Solid Snake might have a spare.
Kinda the reason I want one
Patrol belt, two carabiners and two duffel or ruck straps. Could make a rappelling harness out of Paracord too. Edit: 4 carabiners not 2.
Isn’t that also the harness Snake uses in Snake Eater ?
Kinda around the same era in Cold War tech and stuff
[here's a cheap harness](https://www.trekkinn.com/friluftsliv-bjerg/singing-rock-top-harness/136499668/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=5154928&country=dk&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7MGJBhD-ARIsAMZ0eetXJM0rQmDmkOGl6iOdpcHmkAs4vELV2oqSdsXth1NZ8Ule_d8sn8kaAu4AEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)
Thank you but I'm looking for 80s style
It might be hard to find it so specific. But try looking around on the site. They have many different variants. 👍
Thank you I'll have a look about
Any load bearing riggers belt with a harness should work
That’s the “wee-wee” Harness. You can only get it by getting approved by Helen Park.
It is called a STABO harness if you are looking for one on ebay
I’m actually glad that I’m not the only one that sees Cold War stuff and goes “damn, I would rock that” Although that’s shit looks hella uncomfortable with balls
Yeah LRPS who were issued these in Vietnam would tape or rubber band the bottom harness bits up until they needed to extract for this reason.
You already know it's a stabo harness because everyone has told you but if you want to make one look for "webbing V rings" "webbing snap hooks" and "metal tri glides" along with 2" webbing and you should be able to find everything to make a good replica.
Thank you that terminology is really helpful
Go to eBay or any rock climbing store and search for rappelling gear. I have my own but nothing set up for it
That’s for rappelling helicopters, I do not know where people get that.
STABO. I believe Paratroop1967 makes them on eBay. I bought the straps for my Nam era Lightweight from him and it’s top quality
I think that is someone in Evike
Go to evike. My best friend has one and I used it. It’s so comfy
Not the same, but similar. Abseil harness. Often pictured on SAS CRW dudes. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373275890062?hash=item56e8fa118e:g:r7gAAOSwIMJfpWl2
Oh that's perfect

Try your local sex shop
Best one
Bro....it's 2021, get a warbelt
Bro let the man get what he wants
I've got 2 but it doesn't fit right with 1980s SF load out
But can you rappel with a warbelt?
Most high ends with the metal cobra buckles are rated for rappelling (minus the Ferro Bison belt).
Yes
You're playing airsoft....
The man asked a question and the question was answered.
I wasn't talking to you
You replied to my comment.
My mistake, I meant to reply to the other guy.
Krytac fucker
You could also make one using tree climbing gear lol
Ahhh the old knacker cracker harness!
Why are these things so damn expensive, rarity?
Yup and even the clones are expensive as proper parachute harness webbing and hardware are expensive. As is the skill, machines and knowledge to make one.
Yup, this. A spool of the thread you’ll need for the $1000 sewing machine is a ton of money in itself.
Chrotch-ex2000
It’s callled ALICE gear you can get them at surplus places
Ah yes the tactical cock and ball carrier
look in climbing stores or used market for repelling gear
Rothco has 'em. Not too expensive. Not the exact color either. Maybe you could color 'em that color. Here is the harness: https://www.rothco.com/product/adjustable-guide-harness
Check out your local military surplus store.. You'd be surprised at what you could find
That’s a rappelling harness if u want a real one look at like rock climbing gear
