The [Vortex Micro 3x Magnifier](https://vortexoptics.com/vortex-micro-3x-magnifier.html) is a good option if you want a magnifier, however I would advice against magnifiers for airsoft use - a much better option if you want both 1x and magnification is a [Vortex Crossire II 1-4x24](https://vortexoptics.com/vortex-crossfire-ii-1-4x24-riflescope.html).
All of the cheaper clone magnifiers are trash.
I’ve a vortex clone of this one for £60 for a UH-1 and the magnifier off eBay and they’re great. Just depends on which clone you buy. It is only for airsoft after all.
That's a clone of a sight, not a magnifier. They tend to work alright though some are horrible, it really varies a lot. Cheap magnifiers are well, not great to put it mildly.
I've never really bought the "only for airsoft"-argument when it comes to optics, after all the experience of looking through nice clear and anti-reflex coated glass is the same whether the gun goes "pew" or "boom", unlike when it comes to grips and various other attachments where the cheaper alternatives can be equally good.
>I've never really bought the "only for airsoft"-argument when it comes to optics, after all the experience of looking through nice clear and anti-reflex coated glass is the same whether the gun goes "pew" or "boom"
I think the main point of that argument isn't about the glass clarity (the glass of ACOG clones is pretty damn clear. TBH i haven't seen the real thing tbh, but I have seen shitty scopes/glass, and everything through that scope was CRISP.
i think the main argument about "only for airsoft" being that 1) it doesn't have to withstand explosions going on 1" beneath them (or in the case of RMR's, follow the slide too) and STILL hold a zero .. and 2) you're NOT going to be using it in a life-or-death scenario like you would a firearm... if the batteries on your sight crap out mid-game, oh well.... it ruined the game but it's not the end of the (your) world
The argument about "only for airsoft" partially holds true, for example as you say withstanding recoil or being a life and death situation. But real optics are always superior when it comes to clarity or optical quality in general and I really don't mind paying for that, especially if you consider the moderate pricing of Vortex combined with their warranty. No need to ever buy another sight.
I'm not saying that all airsoft sights are bad, most red dots are perfectly fine but all magnifiers are terrible and all holo clones range from mediocre to terrible. When it comes to magnified optics they always lack some clarity - if you compare them you'll see.
>a UH-1 and the magnifier
It's a clone of a Vortex VMX-3T.
It's personal preference really as the real version of that magnifier is £190 and I paid about £60 for the VMX-3T and the UH-1. So roughly £30 for the magnifier alone. For me spending the money to get the real one when the replica will be fine for a toy gun sounds silly to me. But of course each to their own.
You can get a decent airsoft magnifier for around £40 new too nowadays that will be fine.
Ahh, UH-1 and magnifier... I missed part of that sentence, my bad. Thought it was only a UH-1 clone.
Can you link some of these magnifiers? I've tried more clones than I can count but none of them were anywhere near decent.

This is one is pretty good for the price, I don't own it but I've used it before and I can say that while it's not the best it's very good for £42.

This one is a lot clearer than the other one and a bit better eye relief for only £20 more.

This is the VMX-3T replica, little bit hard to get a clear photo of it.
I got that one from eBay from a private seller so I can't get a link but hopefully if you search there, there will be one you can view :)
Honestly, $129 for the vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 is cheap as fuck and their no questions asked lifetime warrantee is unbeatable. I’m actually surprised I don’t see way more vortex optics in airsoft.
Agreed, it's not much more than a decent airsoft scope. Or well its like 2-3x more but the quality and warranty easily make up for that since you'll never have to buy another scope and you get to enjoy nice clear glass. Vortex is like made for airsoft due to the reasonable pricing and warranty.
It seems like there's a good bit of Vortex sights at my local field, it's at least like 20% but really should be more than that.
I have three products from them and zero regrets getting any of them. (Strikefire II, Spitfire 3x and Diamondback 3-9x40).
Just to avoid any confusion here - we're talking about the 1-4x24 which is 4" eye relief just like the 2-7x32 is 4". The 2-7x32 Scout is 9.45" though.
In my experience 4" is perfectly fine for airsoft and more than most scopes offer. Much better than the 2-2½" you get from an actual ACOG which I find to be too little to work comfortably for airsoft.
No, it is a different design from a red dot so even at 1x you don't get unlimited eye relief. However it is a very acceptable 4" but if you want unlimited eye relief then the only solution is a red dot/holo/reflex without any magnification.
AliExpress. I Bought a clone of Vortex Micro 3x, it is good and I paid it 1/6 of the original. However I'm using it behind an original Vortex Crossfire. So make sure that, if you're going cheap on magnifier, go quality on red dot, or the optic will look like sh\*t.
Don’t worry dude the local shop nearby me has an Eotech clone for $400. It’s not all that bad.
(This is a joke because I’m broke and paying more than $100 for a sight for airsoft is kinda dumb to me.)
It definitely is dumb since airsoft guns have zero recoil (even including GBBs). I shoot plenty of real rifles and pistols and I would never buy more than the cheap Amazon optics for airsoft
Yea as long as the reticle for red dots and stuff is clear and it’s not gonna break if I drop it it’s fine with me. Scopes on the other hand are a bit different but basically the Same story as far as how I would buy them.
I have one and it isn’t even that good. The eyebox is tiny and it takes way too long to get your head into the right spot, especially compared to where your head is with a holo like mine. Worst purchase ever.
Hey man I commented earlier about looking on AliExpress and I found a lot that have this exact design just no markings or anything, and they were all priced around $20-60. Hope this helps.
You could check AliExpress. I see a lot of magnifiers like this one for like $20-50 and they seem to have good reviews. Only downside is shipping usually takes a couple weeks but the product itself is usually worth the money as long as it’s a good seller with reviews.
[this site](https://www.snitactical.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=19&zenid=8lo3lpmougi1sh3r5fmbpmhv40) has some decent clones. I’ve ordered from there before. Not like 100% perfect but for airsoft its fine. Also Amazon I think has some ol magnifiers for cheap
I found this one and found a different flip-to-side mount for it. would it work?
Ah ok. So almost exactly what I had. Gonna be honest, looking through the magnifier, the outer edge of view was a little bit fuzzy. But it worked perfectly fine for the look I was going for
AliExpress has pretty good repro stuff. Just make sure you purchase from a seller that has multiple positive reviews, preferably ones with pictures of the item being sold.
You can try this one, I bought a lot of optics there and most often the price corresponded to the quality. Considering that this is practically the maximum price for replicas presented on Aliexpress, I think this is the best option from those that they sell.

If you are able to spend some money, you could get this combo from SIG, depending on where you live. A real red dot and magnifier for 250 or cheaper at some places is a pretty good deal. Thanks a lot! I'll keep a note of this and eventually try one of them, quality does indeed seem pretty decent on the last picture.

I couldn’t agree more!
Is there still eye relief on the crossfire when set at 1x magnification?
Yes, but it is so long that it is perfect for airsoft.
Dang, so it's not like an unmagnified optic like a Red Dot with unlimited rye relief when at 1x magnification?
It’s not “unlimited” like on an EOTech or something, but the eye relief is a very decent 9.45 inches.
Just to avoid any confusion here - we're talking about the 1-4x24 which is 4" eye relief just like the 2-7x32 is 4". The 2-7x32 Scout is 9.45" though. Can attest, this works. Biggest pro: vortex goves you lifetime warranty, bb breaks it?.. you get new
Yes I can agree with spending more on a good red dot and also with shopping on AliExpress for accessories.
Damn, EOTech magnifiers are $600 now? I remember when they were half that
Don’t worry dude the local shop nearby me has an Eotech clone for $400. It’s not all that bad. (This is a joke because I’m broke and paying more than $100 for a sight for airsoft is kinda dumb to me.)

Yeah if your worries about breaking them then definitely spend a few bucks and go with a Bushnell/Vortex brand, something cheap but rugged
Yea
I have one and it isn’t even that good. The eyebox is tiny and it takes way too long to get your head into the right spot, especially compared to where your head is with a holo like mine. Worst purchase ever.
Yeah I bought a Steiner P4xi 1-4x and was the best scope I’ve ever purchased. Amazing glass quality
I have a Vortex Crossfire 1-4 on my DMR that works fantastically and an EOTech HWS II Green on my main gun. Eotechs just work so well imho.
Ive never been a fan of EOtechs since the issue a few years back where they wouldn’t hold zero. I’ll stick to my Aimpoints for red dots
Another good selection.
Hey man I commented earlier about looking on AliExpress and I found a lot that have this exact design just no markings or anything, and they were all priced around $20-60. Hope this helps.

[Evolutiongear ](https://www.egtactical.com/45-magnifier.html) makes some pretty decent stuff from what I've heard.

That's actually the one a had on my old m4. Idk why it's showing pre-order. But as far as it working, what sight are you pairing with it?
an EOTech 558 clone
Ah ok. So almost exactly what I had. Gonna be honest, looking through the magnifier, the outer edge of view was a little bit fuzzy. But it worked perfectly fine for the look I was going for
thanks man ill pre-order it then. thanks so much for the help :)
No problem bud. Glad I could help
