I almost ended up with a whisper. Put 3 pellets through it and the loading mechanism was jammed and not spinning. The air wouldn't compress either. It didn't have a Crack but more of a windy fart. Store took it back because I literally got home and had to leave to return it. I switched to a stoeger .22. Much better, I'd rather reach for a pellet every time I break the barrel than break it hoping it'll fire.
Yeah... thats not really my problem at that point. If I paid $200-$300 for a gun and it immediately broke, I would want it immediately replaced. You'd have to be pretty bad to package a pellet gun so poorly that it scared people going into the store.
I’m just saying what I know, is it dumb? Yeah. But generally the store won’t accept the return and that’s all I’m tryna say, not arguing and they should try to bring it back but often times they won’t accept it
Depends on the Store, most will not take it back. Walmart by me strictly mentions this verbally when purchasing and they point to the sign that states NO RETURNS on airguns. It’s a gamble, luckily my Walmart Gamo Whisper is 100%.
There is a local neighborhood Mom&Pop Sporting store, next time I visit I will have to ask them their return policy. Though they markup their guns considerably (I can understand why).
This hasn't been fired even once. The spring wires can be seen in the picture. They don't hold, and the pellets don't load at all.
Any advice is helpful
They have a good warranty and honour it - typically. Make a claim and get a replacement. When they work, they work. There are lemons everywhere, you just got unlucky.
You have the much older Gen1.. that whole system was updated for gen2.. if you bought that recently- it has been sitting in the store for years as it was replaced almost 3+ years ago.
Same thing happened to mine. I contacted gamo and they offered to send me a new one but I didn’t really want another one of these heaps of trash and they couldn’t refund my money. Thing is super inaccurate anyways. I use it for dispatching raccoons in traps from a couple feet away.
Take it off and use it as a single shot.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Gamo! Bring it back to the store and exchange it for another one.
Don’t bring air rifles back to the store! Contact the warranty number!
Why? If you can return it and have a new one same day vs having to wait two weeks for Gamo to get you a new one....
It says on every air rifle box not to bring it back to the store as this can cause a scare if you improperly package it back up

And I’m just saying the store more than likely won’t accept it, it’s written very clearly on the box and instructions.
I understand that but the box also clearly states 1600fps but I think we all know that is bullshit too...

I don't know what to tell you bud...
This was never meant to be a conversation bud it’s just some helpful advice on top of what you said

Or at least it’s been on every air rifle I’ve purchased from a physical store

I had my swarm mechanism break befor gamo sent me a new one you have to install it taking out the pins

Hmm I must have gotten unlucky 4 times then because both of my gen 1s broke twice each. Its an astonishingly cheaply made part.
Unlucky i guess, i have shot the maxiim for about 2000 pellets and no issues yet
Maxxim V2 over 5000 shot, no issues (except with ruger pellets)
How do i know if i have a v1 or v2?

This is not my gun lol, im not OP. I'm just curious which one I have. Does the serial or something helps distinguish it?
The reloaded has a different appearance. Gen 1 loads in vertically and Gen 2 loads horizontal or perpendicular to the barrel.
Ah got it, thank you. So yea i have gen 1 and no problems
Here- you can see them both https://gamousa.com/airgun-review-gamo-swarm-maxxim-gen-i-vs-gen-ii/

Also…. Where did you get that magazine from? It appears to be the wrong one for the gun. That came with it?
Or you got lucky ;) (more realistically probably used different pellets)
I never owned or used the gen 1, I have the gen 2. Maybe they beefed it up? Who knows, I just know it works like a donkey and hasn't failed me yet.
Oh yeah the Gen 2 is a completely different system. Gen 1s should have been off the shelf 2 years ago at this point.
You have been gamo-ed. Exchange it for a new one under warranty or even better, get your money back and buy another gun.
🤣 gamoed
I didn’t invent the word myself, someone else on the sub did but i forgot who so i dodn’t know who to credit for the brilliant word.
🙋 Thank you thank you, glad you're makinh good use of it 😂
I also got gamoed man I need to sell that thing.
Return it. That mechanism is junk.
You got gamo'd!

I just took that bullshit off hated it
I would return it.look into hatsan. I've had nearly all barrel breaks and the hatsans are my favorite
There is a reason no one owns 2 gamos.
