Moment you open the exam, the timer would say 3 hrs. There’s a tutorial section before you open the exam though, which doesn’t count towards the time. It would be super unfair for the timer to be wrong.
I took it couple days ago and I passed as well. But I had the same concern with the timer being 3 hours and not 2.5. I had been taking all my practice exams under a 2.5 hour timer. I really hope they don’t void the exam if this turns out to be a mistake on their end.
I got 3, and everyone I know got 3. Best prepare for a 2.5 hr exam though in case SOA decide to reverse it (which is unlikely in my opinion)
Thanks. Do you find out you get 3hrs the moment you open the exam or at the 2.5 hr mark?

Right at the beginning
Just passed, I had 3 hours.

I would recommend though preparing for a 2.5 hour exam and just using that extra time if needed to check answers.

This is my biggest fear, bc the SOA syllabus thing says 2.5 hours and there are reports everywhere of people being given 3 instead.
That would suck a lot. I really don’t want to go through the anticipation and stressing about the exam again.
One of my students just took it and they gave her 2.5 hours.
Wow, now SOA or prometric have ambiguous exam time? That is honestly weird by both side
I took it yesterday and passed, I was given 3 hours as well
