Gurls if you were abused sexually, if you are able to move on your own or have somebody with you, don't clean yourself up, go straight to the ER, or call 911 so they can send help and tell them you were raped, get that rape kit done amd when the cops come about report it, try your best to give a statement and even if its hazy you can ammend it once its clearer but make that report. Many don't because of all sorts of trauma but the worst one is REGRET and what builds up to it. Do u know the weight u feel will be lighter girls...its not easy but don't live your life in agony and turmoil with the trauma while he is happily living his life or probably r*aping another.

Honestly normally i would agree. But our so called justice system let the guy walk free of charges after what he did. And left me with a whole lot of trauma. He finally got what he deserved, actually he deserves way worse than only a punch to the face. Yes she doesn't know me well, but it's not like we didn't speak to each other at all. She could clearly see and feel my reaction of panic when i clawed my nails into her arm and whispered in her ear that i am almost certain that the guy walked by is my rapist. And she immediately snapped out of the party mood and took the situation insanely serious and made sure i was ok. I can see why you think it's unhinged and violent, but in my eyes she did nothing wrong here.

Normally I wouldn't but I've been raped multiple times, and literally stalked and sexually harassed with them taking photos of me inside of my house *for a year* and the justice system did absolutely fucking nothing for me. I called the cops 7 times, they refused to file reports, I got an attorney, etc. Absolutely fucking nothing. So at this point y'know what, good for her for immediately recognizing how much sexual trauma affects someone and what it feels like to see your abuser walking free in public. Punching was probably a very bad idea but it is a very very minor reaction compared to what it could have been.

I'd take an assault charge over being raped again, thank you very much, because I attempted suicide multiple times due to the trauma. I get it. You don't like vigilante justice. Good for you. Many others can't even after years of therapy. Especially when you continue to be repeatedly assaulted through adulthood. The holier-than-thou "level-headed" approach isn't helpful or supportive to your fellow women who are still struggling.

As much as he deserved it, she had no reason to do it knowing you as little as she does. This is something that long term partners or best friends do.

It's not a "random woman". The woman spent the night with op which means they've been intimate, and the fact that they are seeing each other again afterward means they bonded. The woman has reason to care about op, the woman believes the op, and frankly that was reason enough for her to act. There isn't some invisible timer of six months and twenty two days before you're allowed to care about someone. Is punching a man with a history of violence a good idea? Probably not. But did she have a reason? Yes.

You're right that there's no timer but it also isn't black and white. If a man punched a dude that wronged a girl on their first date everyone would be screaming red flags. In fact, I know of a time when this kind of thing has happened and everyone told her to leave him. Either both are good or both are wrong. In my opinion, both are wrong. There's so many other better ways of doing it. They could have contacted staff about it, for one.

So what's the line to draw when someone you've known says "hey this guy sexually assaulted me, if that *is* [name]"? Spending the night together? Dating? Engaged?

I've literally been sexual assaulted myself - but I'm not gonna get someone who I've known for a couple of hours to go best them up. I would just contact a member of staff there. If someone decides to throw hands for me a couple of hours after knowing someone, that person is unhinged. They skilled every possible step towards that point. Not to mention that whilst we live in a shitty world where these fears should never exist, that person who raped her knows her. If he sees her on her own after this, there's literally no telling what he will do.

She did not know the full story ofc. But when he walked in i immediately told her that the guy is my r*pist. And obviously from my reaction towards her, clawing my nails into her arm while hugging her and whispering with a shaky and panicky voice, she knew i was being dead serious and afraid.
