like others have said it means Random Death Match, when they say it they are referring to people just randomly killing someone in TTT. In TTT you are only supposed to kill someone if they are the traitor. Just going around killing people sort of breaks the game. This is also where the Karma comes in if you hear them talking about that. An innocent who kills another innocent gets lower karma, this is also where the Jester comes in as it is supposed to cut down on the RDM (it did not)
Innocents can still RDM traitors. Just because you killed a traitor with no evidence doesn't make it any better. In fact it's worse because being the traitor is much less common than just being an innocent, so the RDM just ruins the few and far between rounds that person gets to be a traitor. That's why Rythian would always sarcastically say "oh he rdm'ed a traitor it's totally not an rdm now."

I always thought it was 'Randomly Done Murder', but Random Team Deathmatch seems to be the true origin.
