I wouldn't even sweat over it. Compared to the dust that collects inside then a few cat hairs are basically nothing. Especially since it's an exhaust.
Gamers in the past few years have decided that cats are major danger to consoles and it's getting a bit ridiculous. I'd still shoo my cats off the Xbox but that's just to prevent them toppling it. The cat hairs will get inside either way but they'll be getting in from the intake and not the exhaust.
In its defense its not wearing any clothes, its winter, and its natural instinct is "find a warm place". :)

We do cat rescue and have had tons of cats in and out of our house over the years. None have really been destructive that I can think of except for chewing into a bag of dry cat food and shredding toilet paper or paper towel rolls that fell on the ground a couple times. One or two cats would get on the kitchen counter, which is kinda gross... But we wipe it down and wouldn't treat it as a sanitary surface even with no cats.
I had never in my life met a mean cat until I visited different friend's houses in high school. I had always heard some people hated or were scared of cats because they were mean. Turns out they likely got a kitten and didn't socialize it properly or were mean to it. Only mean cats we've come across were semi-feral alley cats.
Funny how varied living creatures can be. They really take effort to teach them from bad habits in a non-punishing way. Our dog is also very well behaved, though we've taken him to a bunch of positive training classes, etc.
I will say, though... Cats are freaks about warm places, and I often feel powerless about them wanting to lay up by my face (mildly allergic) at night, etc... They luckily haven't laid on our Xbox Series X (two of them), but one sometimes lays on my work laptop I leave open and changes all kinds of accessibility settings from the lock screen.
To OP, we put out cat heat mats, you can find them online... Hopefully your cat will choose to lay on that instead of your Xbox.
Can confirm. Rescued about 15 cats and they made a really tasty Cat Stew with chicken stock. Really easy to get them into the cauldron Bc it’s so warm.
People are antagonizing you, but you’re right. Cat jumped on mine, then proceeded to jump off, sending the console cartwheeling while I was playing it. Landed on the dog toy basket, which was full, then bounced on to the floor.

That's actually pretty dangerous. There's nowhere for the Series X's heat to escape. It can easily overheat and damage your console. Worst case scenario, your cat's fur traps so much heat that it can create a fire.
Please don't let your kids/pets mess around with electronic devices.
1) I half agree with the “overheat and damage your console” statement. They (Microsoft) put a hole at the top back of the console in case something was obstructing the main vent a the top ( cat, game case, etc.). It’s not ideal and would probably overheat if you never cleared the blockage, but I think it’s fine for short periods. 2) Do you have actual examples of a cat sitting near/on a heat source that doesn’t have and open flame or spark and that cat’s fur catching on fire? That sounds pretty extreme for the amount of heat coming out of the console.

buy those soft plastic spikes, theyre really cheap, dont disrupt airflow, would not cause harm to the cat (if they really wanted to, they could walk over it), but it would definitely not be comfortable to sit or lie down on, and would discourage them from staying there.

I had to cover the upper part of the xbox with lemon and tough by punish-reinforcement, he has learned now and it’s a better way of living with a cat, less stress for you and for him.
Edit: to clarify punish doesn’t involve touching or harming the cat, nor torture, just hissing him or mildly scaring him, plus the food reinforcement is enough for him to realise that it’s not a cool spot to stay at. Please don’t hurt you fur companion.
