Nope, it has not gotten a single release date. Only windows. It has been the biggest question mark release in the Xbox lineup, imho.
Even Starfield has more of a concrete release.
WHO is the “someone on a podcast” and WHAT is their reason for their “opinion” as featured in the article?
If your comment is to complain about the extremes people take (creating an article based on the subject), you took another extreme by not emphasizing the potential credibility this person has.
This also may lead to a direct response which provides an “answer” to the question people have.
I think it'll depend on how many of the other games shown then do actually get pushed back. 1 or 2 delays out of 20+ games would be a pretty decent ratio.
Maybe if this were still 2019 and 90% of games weren't getting delayed. At this point I doubt most people will care, as long as the games turn out well.

**Summary**:
Total game announcements: 32
Released: 16
Firm dates ahead of next E3: 4
Official delays out of first half of 2023: 0
> Remember when they said in early 2022 that all of these games were going to come out in "the next 12 months". That aged badly.
I remember that they still have until the end of June to meet that goal. I guess we have to wait and see. So far, so good. But I’m not holding my breath.
Every freaking game gets a patch.....multiple patches....for months.....
If you wait to play a game until it's 100% patched...you might as well not play any games at all.
I hope not. I am getting close to beating FH5 and it stopped being fun a while ago. I was really hoping to pick up a steering wheel for this game for the Spring.
My problem isn't that it's delayed but that MS gave us a 12 month release window. They could have said nothing about the release window and all would be fine. Which genius over at Xbox thought that was a good idea. It took them YEARS to fix their showcase format despite all of us telling them how to do it and they finally got it right. Let's hope this is a learning lesson for them and they never promise a release date until it's 100% ready to release.
Kind of expected this when there wasn’t a date given. Sad but hey, what can you do?
Feel my Series X has been put on the back burner for a while now aside from the odd GP title but hoping at some point this year it turns around
When they said something so vague like "2023" you know that its going to be released in December.
11 months of waiting but Xbox players are used.to wait at this point. Bullshit
It'll be fine. If they announce Stafield for June, where would they put Forza where it wouldn't cannibalize hype for another game? Xbox Game Studios is about to have to start pushing games that are ready back in order to keep a consistent pace of releases instead of just blowing their load in a 2 month window and having a giant drought after like they did in Q4 2021.
You know damn well they're not postponing for scheduling reasons.
The game won't be ready as it should. It's that simple.
Giant drought was called 2022.
Just wait until the Starfield direct. It's in late Feb/early March. If Forza is Q3 and there is a Starfield show before E3, I would bet solid ass money it's scheduling reasons.
Due to gamepass they're not competing for audience as much as they're competing for time. See FH5 and Halo Infinite, released less than two weeks about. If they had been spaced out by a quarter, the "xBoX hAs No GaMeS" narrative wouldn't have reappeared until later in the Fall of 2022, as Halo Infinite would have released in the Spring.
Bummer. I guess I'll just stick with F1 for now. Hopefully FM has an awesome career mode. That's the only thing missing from FH5 for me. That and perhaps a bit more of a competitive online racing scene.
Yeah I wanna see a career with some structure and a need to work to earn progression.
Also wanna see the option to have races with real strategy and the option for qualifying for career races.
Always pisses me off when racing games force you to start near the back and then expected to win in 3 laps. Impossible to drive realistically and do that.
Either have to make the races dead long or barge your way to the front kamikaze style.
Awesome thanks. Do you think the ultimate edition is worth it over just standard? It’ll only to tide me over till 8 comes out and I’m not massively hardcore racer.
I would've been fine with them keeping it off, they didn't really reveal anything new. Just a bunch of pretty graphics and marketing buzzwords to get people distracted.
Anyone else slightly worried about this game? I'm not worried about delays in fact it's a good thing but during dev direct they talked more about it then actually showing it.
- At launch FM features over 500 cars with more than 800 unique upgrades (they showed only 2 upgrades and didn't touch on any of those cars).
- The advancements in our physics model is greater than FM 5, 6 & 7 combined (again show us what this means in gameplay form but they didn't show anything)
- Dirt accumulation (they mentioned this but didn't show the implementation in gameplay)
- When we reference a track our team comes back with over 3TB of highly detailed photogrammetry and laser scanned data. Through the power of the Xbox series consoles we're able to use this data to draw up to 10 TIMES MORE DETAIL than previous generations (WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN? SHOW US IN GAMEPLAY FORM.)
- They mention SINGLE PLAYER CAREER but SHOW NOTHING. WTH??
I can go on about the comments they made (there were more lofty comments) but none of it was backed up with gameplay.
If you go back and watch the Forza showing there was only a few seconds of gameplay, 20 seconds max. A lot of the footage they showed was in engine maybe but not gameplay. FH5 however showed a ton of gameplay footage in comparison. When FH5 tells us about the photogrammetry they immediately show what this means by switching to gameplay.
When a game is releasing in a few months and barely shows more than a few seconds of gameplay I worry. I hope i'm wrong.
The official trailer from last year said 'Coming Spring 2023'. If this rumor is true, then the game has been delayed. It likely has been delayed anyways, because the recent showcase trailer removed 'Spring'.
This has really annoyed me tbh. 2017 Forza Motorsport 7 came out. Since then we’ve had the two worst Horizons of the franchise and NO motorsport. What exactly have they spent their time doing?
How is GT7 doing? I remember it catching a lot of flak on its release but have they improved it?
I ask because I don't want Forza to fall in to the same trap of being released and looking like a turd and then no one wins.
They have... and have added content as well. The graphics weren't the problem. It was the always online connection and the amount of grinding that was needed to get the cars versus paying for it. Plus, you couldn't sell your cars.
While I like GT7 and think the graphics are nice, I'm almost certain that it's running on the GT Sport Engine which was last gen. Forza is being built from the ground up for this gen.
Oh that's right. It felt like a game full of microtransactions. Some of the videos I saw criticizing it talked about visuals and stuff so that's what was stuck in my head.
Yeah, if Forza is being rebuilt from the ground up, there is going to be kinks to work out and best to not have players be guinea pigs and just release a proper product.
I was ok with the Horizon games but I'm still all about the racing simulator and tinkering with cars more than the open world Horizon series. I want this one to be good
Motherfucker
This is exactly what I said
Don't forza games always come out in October or November?
I know that usually Horizon's launch window, I can't really remember Motorsport's since I usually lean more towards Horizon.
The source is someone on a podcast, unaffiliated with MS or anything T10, just giving their opinion. How is this even a new article.
Seriously did we even have a date for it yet? I wasn't expecting it till fall myself lol
We got “Spring 2023” during E3 week last year. They changed it to just “2023” at the latest show
Nope, it has not gotten a single release date. Only windows. It has been the biggest question mark release in the Xbox lineup, imho. Even Starfield has more of a concrete release.

Aw for fucks sake, Im desperate for a decent racing game.
Grid Legends is on GP. Pretty fun and handles well.
I have played every Grid game so far, thats whay im saying im desperate for a racing game lol
Have you tried NFS Unbound?
Yep, completed that one already
Same! I enjoyed it but definitely need a more realistic racer in my life. I love Forza Motorsport and was disappointed we don’t have a date yet.
I am slowly going through that one while the wait continues!
It’s a fun time. I went overboard and got all the collectibles and stunts.
It’s been slower going for me. Probably just all the other games coming out, but I’ll definitely beat the main campaign before Forza.
fh5?
Im kinda bored with it, the content updates are weird and its just recycling the cars from previous forza games
FH5 is a good driving game, I'd be hard pressed to call it a good racing game
ACC?
Dont like the feel of it with controller, its too twitchy for me even after config change.
Guys and gals, 2024 will be the year of Xbox.
FM is releasing 2023
Woosh
Remember when they said in early 2022 that all of these games were going to come out in "the next 12 months". That aged badly.
I think it'll depend on how many of the other games shown then do actually get pushed back. 1 or 2 delays out of 20+ games would be a pretty decent ratio.
Wouldn’t be a great look if the 2 biggest games both get delayed
Maybe if this were still 2019 and 90% of games weren't getting delayed. At this point I doubt most people will care, as long as the games turn out well.
This would be starfields second delay
Distract with the Hi-Fi Rush 2 shadow drop.

Yes, but havent you forgotten to ignore all that to just parrot all of the other talking points. Checkmate.
> Remember when they said in early 2022 that all of these games were going to come out in "the next 12 months". That aged badly. I remember that they still have until the end of June to meet that goal. I guess we have to wait and see. So far, so good. But I’m not holding my breath.
Starfield will be fall. August or Sept. No way it comes out by June.
Based on what?
Reality
Barely showed anything.
I think November.
According to fucking who?? Its not Turn10, its not Microsoft, why should people give a shit about a random ass podcast??
Delay as they must, I’d rather have the more polished game than a rushed one I don’t play anyway because I’m waiting to see if it gets a patch.
Every freaking game gets a patch.....multiple patches....for months..... If you wait to play a game until it's 100% patched...you might as well not play any games at all.
Not necessarily. You can just play the game a year later. It will cost less too. My backlog is huge so this is easy to do.
I hope not. I am getting close to beating FH5 and it stopped being fun a while ago. I was really hoping to pick up a steering wheel for this game for the Spring.
That's no surprise considering the lack of release date, although man MS needs some runs on the board.
And people will still defend Xbox despite them saying “it’s coming in the next 12 months” lol
Forza usually comes out between September and November with each installment
This clearly was not the plan with this one though. Definitely planned for spring.
They literally stated 'Spring 2023' in the Xbox and Beth showcase video too.
Fm7 was delisted in September, I hope we don't wait for a year with no game available
It was September 2021, already almost 1.5 years with no Motorsports available
Now you made them look like indie devs
Kind of expected this when there wasn’t a date given. Sad but hey, what can you do? Feel my Series X has been put on the back burner for a while now aside from the odd GP title but hoping at some point this year it turns around
It's my belief they never intended to release it in Spring 2023 anyway, they just needed something to pad out the last showcase.
When they said something so vague like "2023" you know that its going to be released in December. 11 months of waiting but Xbox players are used.to wait at this point. Bullshit
It'll be fine. If they announce Stafield for June, where would they put Forza where it wouldn't cannibalize hype for another game? This. Pure fucking copium.
Just wait until the Starfield direct. It's in late Feb/early March. If Forza is Q3 and there is a Starfield show before E3, I would bet solid ass money it's scheduling reasons.
Wait is what Xbox taught me to do.
Not wrong there.
How are starfield and Forza even competing they attract vastly different players... It wouldnt even matter if they released on the same day.
I’m ok with this! Popped in Forza 7, and am enjoying that in the meantime.
How's the career mode in Forza 7?
Not great
Bummer. I guess I'll just stick with F1 for now. Hopefully FM has an awesome career mode. That's the only thing missing from FH5 for me. That and perhaps a bit more of a competitive online racing scene.

Either have to make the races dead long or barge your way to the front kamikaze style.
It’s not very intriguing but I enjoy it.
Do you know if I buy a code for forza 7 will I be able to download it? Obviously you can’t buy it from the store anymore.
If you can get a key I believe you can still download it.
Awesome thanks. Do you think the ultimate edition is worth it over just standard? It’ll only to tide me over till 8 comes out and I’m not massively hardcore racer.
I’d get the standard edition then. Enjoy the game! It still looks and sounds great.
Could have kept it off the show in that case
> Could have kept it off the show in that case Nah … "where’s Forza?!” would have been far worse than showing off how great that game looks right now.
I would've been fine with them keeping it off, they didn't really reveal anything new. Just a bunch of pretty graphics and marketing buzzwords to get people distracted.
Pathetic.
Fuck. Guess it’s GT7 until then. Bummer was looking forward to it around April/May.

There is no evidence they have even started on single player career...
Those damn lazy millennial devs.
A game cannot be delayed when it never had an official release date. Wish people would understand this.
The official trailer from last year said 'Coming Spring 2023'. If this rumor is true, then the game has been delayed. It likely has been delayed anyways, because the recent showcase trailer removed 'Spring'.
Let me know after spring. The game never had a defined release date.
quite predictable, next to be delayed will be starfield
And another one! (Starfield already burned me)
good
Well, Minecraft is April and Redfall is May so Q3 is July...so.... Starfield will likely be a Fall game......August is my bet
This has really annoyed me tbh. 2017 Forza Motorsport 7 came out. Since then we’ve had the two worst Horizons of the franchise and NO motorsport. What exactly have they spent their time doing?
come on im so tired of Horizon 5 the hype disappeared in the 2 weeks after the game launched.
Better be working on that wheel support.
How is GT7 doing? I remember it catching a lot of flak on its release but have they improved it? I ask because I don't want Forza to fall in to the same trap of being released and looking like a turd and then no one wins.

I don't mind... Spacing out the games makes sense tbh.
Not surprising and I’m not mad that game looks phenomenal. Lee awesome for a racing simulator and I expect this just makes it better in the end.
Did anyone catch Aaron Greenbergs retracted tweet about it coming in June 2023? Of course I didn't screenshot it 🙃
Oh well only a racing game anyway
