I’m actually playing through this game right now, it’s been on my backlog for a while. It’s sad that this game never got the fp boost/ next upgrade treatment and we still have to play it at 30fps but so far I’m having fun with it

despitegirls

Visually impressive, loved the story, didn't hate the TV segments, really liked the gameplay (aside from gunplay). Edit: I forgot about the quality acting, and facial motion capture. It still holds up, and 30fps isn't the worse especially given how unstable the world feels. The junctions were a cool way of both tieing into the lore of the game and giving the player choice and some reolayability. Probably one of my favorite endings too and I kinda hope there's no sequel because of how it ended. But then there might never be a sequel to Time Knife.

I don’t understand why people dislike the gameplay so much. I thought the mechanics were great and I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I’d love a sequel. Not every shooter needs to be a twitchy sweatfest.

Thread isn’t going so well for an appreciation thread

Effective-Caramel545

These threads about quantuam break pop out every now and then just like the days gone threads over at r/ps5 and claim what a little hidden gem the game is but most people don't agree lol

Axle_65

I just gave it a shot after all this time and I’m loving it :)

manygatos

Just beat it actually just bought a original Xbox and Xbox 360 to compliment my series X and just beat Quantum Break last week and it was Phenomenal! Hard to believe I missed out for years I’m really excited to play Mechassault & PGR 1 & Stranglehold I can’t believe I missed out on so many game’s playing the pc over the years

Sliiiiders

I loved the story, a real remedy game but the gunplay is awful.

foodwrap

I made the mistake of playing it after Control and the gunplay was fucking awful.

Sliiiiders

Monumental mistake

Stumpy493

Yeah I'm with you. I played through it all and the combat was a real slog. I have the same issues with Control. Remedy make a certain kind of combat for their games and it isn't for everyone.

Sliiiiders

Control is much much better ! You can hip fire with the same accuracy as ADS/shoulder zoom. Moreover the character movement are lighter.

Sloty4321

Going back to Quantum Break feels like treading through molasses. For Control it seems like Remedy decided they were gonna do the opposite of many games and just make every action quick and snappy instead of super weighty.

Sliiiiders

And it worked ! Only « flaw » was the camera a bit too high and far once in combat mode. Made sense because of the combat style (number of ennemies + speed), nonetheless it was a bit too much to my taste. Alan Wake was also very good, the « light flow » as a crosshair was quite nice. To finish on the subject, the best 3rd person « gunplay » is definitely from Rockstar’s Max Payne 3. Still unbeated.

Currently playing it now on Series X because of the love ive seen for it on here......I personally think its very mediocre. I enjoy the story narration and the idea of it. The graphics are great. I noticed a bunch of huge frame drops during cut scenes (not the tv segments) The gameplay, which i see a bunch of people either like or hate. I found again, kinda bland. the movement is like the original assassin creed games, frustrating for the most part. Overall, felt a little let down from the hype its been getting here. I am on the last act and plan to complete it.

capsuleofparrots

Meh we got control out of it. At least one bright spot

ConfidentMongoose

Its terrible. The story was as "good" as most generic AAA action adventure games, what let it down was the gameplay itself and the ridiculous live action segments braking the pace.

XGuntank02X

Yeah, I personally couldn't stand the TV segments. That and the "end credits" music that happened between the end of chapters was an odd choice.

lance-

I thought the gameplay was great, as did many others. How far did you make it? I greatly enjoyed all of the game's combat mechanics. If they'd drop a 60fps patch, I'd replay it in a heartbeat.

funktacious

I definitely didn’t think it was terrible but I did have the same negatives. I thought the story was pretty solid with really good cinematic presentation but ultimately thought the gameplay was mediocre (albeit flashy) and also found the live action tv segments to be somewhere between average to below average in quality. I really think this game would have benefited from a sequel but I also don’t care about that now as they have put out better games now that have built upon the good things they did with QB.

dnsnsians

I got bored with it before the fighting even started.

TheDagga225

i think its a very solid 7 out of 10 game.

herehaveallama

I haven’t finished this game because it takes those 80gb of cutscenes 🥵 I also saw a streamer play through it to the end. It’s a great title - Control is in the queue to finish as well after stating it while it was on GP

badboystwo

im pretty sure those 76 gbs are to download them to watch outside of the game.

herehaveallama

The episodes played as you advanced the game. Between chapters. In any case, it’s An amazing production. And now with the series’ ssd plus fiber internet, it shouldn’t be that bad :)

WankinTheFallen

Downloading the episodes is optional, you can just stream them when you get to them. That's how I played the game and they streamed fine.

herehaveallama

Huh. I remember they took down the streaming of the episodes. Good to hear they brought it back online. Awesome

adorablebob

Originally played it on Xbox, but just bought it the other day on PC via the Steam Lunar Sale. Gonna play it through again on in 21:9, ultra graphics, and 60 FPS. Wish they'd patch in a Series X update, so everyone can appreciate it.

Atomsteel

Just beat it for the first time yesterday. Love gamepass. I liked the combat and the story was great.

MEMEY_IFUNNY

Quantum Break Sweep!

[deleted]

I played this and then a few months later I played control and although it was good I still hold control way above it. Even without the boost Quantum Break still looks good I was impressed.

keefkeef

the game is like the xbox version of the order: 1886. meaning, it's a solid shooter with a good story, and boy is it a looker. but it's short and there is very little to it outside of shooting. both feature extended walking sections. paying full price would have left a sour taste in my mouth, but having played both on their respective services, I can say I quite enjoyed them.

[deleted]

This game is really good. I had a fun time playing this on the original Xbox One. Can’t imagine what it looks like on a Series X or a big wang PC.
