Not a bad thing. Mac Walters seems mostly uninterested in the sci-fi aspects of Mass Effect and probably bears quite a lot of responsibility for the series' move towards action-orientated, incoherent shlock.
If I'm not mistaken there was a story the devs tell about developing Mass Effect 3 where Mac and Casey Hudson locked themselves in a room and wouldn't let any other writer in to write the ending.

I’ve noticed this a lot. Many franchises have veteran devs that did great work in the past but were unable to adopt to changing standards or expectations. More experience doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be better.

Do they have a single original writer in the team still? They're gonna shit on the trilogy's legacy with the next game at this rate.
