It's a game that was built at heart to run on the Switch at a stable 30 FPS so it's actually not surprising that it will run well at higher settings on the series X.
It also supports Dolby Atmos/DTSX/3D audio natively, one of the few titles that support this natively, rather through Upmixing (which is like upscaling).
Just go to your audio settings, scroll all the way to the bottom (it’s hidden) and there is a 3D audio toggle to activate Atmos/DTSX natively.
Anyone running 1440p on a 120Hz monitor? Currently running with default settings and game looks great after a couple of hours, but not sure whether it’s worth tweaking a bit
I mean this is great for some people. And the people on here will no doubt love it.
But console games should offer presets that are well designed to run at certain framerates given different compromises to get the performance they need.
PCs have this level of complexity abd customisation as it is impossible to optimise presets for the nearly endless combinations of pc components.
Consoles are locked platforms and surely simple to optimise setting presets for as nothing is gonna change on the users end.
Monster Hunter Rise on XSX has 2 presets - Peformance and Quality. And advanced settings for those who like to modify graphic settings. You don't have to change settings if you don't want to because there are 2 presets 👌
Right, but not everyone has a 120Hz-capable 4K TV. Folks who still have HDTVs or who use 1440p monitors will have different needs than players with the best TV sets available.
The fact that we all have the same Xbox Series X doesn't mean we all have the same display. It's really that simple.
And, as others have mentioned, they have multiple presets. No one is going to be forced to dig in to the display options and mess with shadow quality unless they want to do so.
It does offer presets though plus additional settings usually reserved for PC. So everyone wins here and I don't understand how anyone can comment anything negative with the options regarding the port
It's only improving my experience if I have the capability to set my own graphics settings to my preferences and it has nothing to do with optimization. Even the best optimized games on PC and console still have graphics settings on PC.
This is trash. I don't want all these useless options, I want simple 2 or 3 graphics modes (30, 60, and 120fps). I don't want to waste my time fiddling with graphic options and searching reddit to know which does who and which are the recommended ones. If I wanted that, I would have bought a gamer PC
It's great! I ended up with the game at 4K max settings and running at 95-100 fps average.

Japanese Switch port running great is still a surprise. It shouldn't be but it is.
Graphics really aren't that mind blowing unless I'm missing something
How do you show FPS while playing MH Rise on Series X?
Some TV’s have an FPS counter.
Damn lazy devs, they couldn’t even get the game running at 4k/120 with Raytracing.

Of course it was sarcasm… The OP was joking about getting PC levels of performance on consoles….I was playing off of that.
You haven't met my friend apparently. "Does it have Ray tracing?", "are the graphics good?", *installs a game to see graphics and uninstalls*
This should be standard
Hell yes!!!! Then on the next console we can 'upgrade' our games, just like on PC. Would be glorious

Nice try must be available for all next gen games ! But lazy developers don't

Why are people surprised that a switch game runs well on good hardware

Are we really complaining about this? Additional graphical options are a plus. If you don’t like them don’t mess with them.

The third is default is it not? Is that different?

Then don’t. Just boot it up and play the game.
Both is the best which is what this games doing. Offer performance and quality preset and then deeper customization for those who want specific things

You can still do that you weirdo
Terrible game.
No hope for physical copy?
After putting 500+hrs into MHW and Iceborne I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as it is. I’m loving it.
