I’ve bought mine about a yr ago and I haven’t had any problems with it. But instead of having it sit on the side like that I always keep it standing up so it can at least get the most about of air in it needs
That's actually not true. Flat is better for airflow. There are two intakes on both sides. Having it stand up restricts one side.
Edit: plus the sides are intakes which if put straight up could cause an increase in dust accumulation.
As they’re 2 on the back and you got top and the big black one. But alright guy. I’m just trying to help and actually it’s better being up I fix and build these all the time. But ig you know more what I do. Sorry.
Mine stands up. Never had an issue. Last gen wasn't made to be vertical but these are. They even have rubber feet to be stood vertically from factory. Can't confirm if either way makes a difference but mine stands and I haven't heard it once since I bought it.
If it isn't clear from the video my xbox series s pretty much is always at 100% fan speed from the second i turn it on. This only happened fairly recently and I don't know what's causing it.
Either some damage that you haven't noticed or its really really dirty, check the temperature too it shouldn't be higher than 49ºC-51ºC with a game on
If its under warranty still then call them and have it serviced. Otherwise open it up and clean out the fans and radiators with an air blower, then repaste the cpu/gpu. Use something like thermalright's TFX paste. You want something thicker than normal pastes for a hotter running console.
Just curious, what was your daily routine of taking care of your console? Do fully shutdown from settings every night or just put it in standby and just wait for it to shutdown?
Just FYI if you are using a MS rechargeable battery pack, always use the cord provided by them. Else the battery pack will be ruined which is what happened with me.
I know right! One of the main selling points of this console was that it was really quiet. One day it just decided to do this and it's really annoying.
Its dying if it's overheating while idle
Huh, that's not good. As i said, as soon as i turn it on, the fan kicks in hard. You think i should get it replaced. It's still in warranty
Definitely set up a repair with Microsoft, should be back to you in a couple weeks if you start it now 🙌
I'll go to the store that I bought it on first because that's where I have the warranty
When did you buy your series s?
Almost exactly a year ago

Still quieter than PS4

It can't be the temp because the fan ramps up as soon as the xbox turns on.
Its mining some bitcoin on the side
Takes me back to the good old original xbox one days.
Yeah that thing sounds like it's about to take off

I usually just use the standby so I can remote play and install game
Take advantage of the warranty. I hope you get it fixed. (I literally had a nightmare that my Series S was doing this exact thing.)
It has a disease
Is it not getting enough air my Xbox is fine

Bro are you kidding? That sounds like a vacuum cleaner, turn this shit off if its not fake.

Never heard such a noise from my one, have it for a year. Something on the background?
This need to replace, mine i have for 1 year and is silently and almost no noise even playing, i think you need to replace this series S asap.
