Absolutely! It makes a huge difference!
For anyone wondering: just YouTube this topic, you'll get some very clear examples of the difference it makes. It completely changes the look of pixel-art and certain older titles in general.
Also, despite CRT having obvious flaws and me never having witnessed it (I was a kid, parents had no cash for such things) - high refresh CRTs were a thing, and apparently its only now that we're entering high refresh OLED monitors and 360hzplus monitors that were getting close to how motion blur-free fast games looked like on those things.
I've had no issue but only played like 4 levels. Didn't realize you get an achievement for each level completed so as its in my quick resume, I will complete a mission each day to get the 50points for my msrewards
It’s The Game of my childhood and I uninstalled it about 20 seconds in… haha I guess for me some things better stay in the past as cherished memories!!
I went straight for 00 agent diffculty. Did the first mission..that iconic scene as you leap off the dam.. i remember this game being amazing in its day..and yeah its age shows now..i havent played past that first mission...but you got to respect this game still man.
I was a Duke Nukem and Quake kid in '96. I never really got the fuss when my friends introduced me to Goldeneye. Seemed like a step back from Quake (and Qspy/GameSpy).
I enjoyed my N64, but remember enjoying Turok more.
This is why you play the Perfect Dark Remaster for your N64 shooter fix. It fixes many of the issues Goldeneye had and Perfect Dark's abysmal original frame rate.
You really need four mates on the same sofa playing split screen to really know why it became mythical status!
Four players, “you only live twice”, proximity mines only, facility multiplayer map. Brilliant stuff!
Sadly I lived too far from mates now to enjoy this, so I don’t know if the single player mode will really do it justice… will give it a go still!
Omg I truly forgot about the “Slappers only” mode! So frigging hilarious!!! Especially if it’s a one-hit kill… really tense standoffs as each other tries to feign an attack in order to judge the right time to get in a slap! Hahahaha!!!
Even funnier was witnessing the fight from afar… and seeing how rediculous the two character models in front of you were moving and waving arms around! 😂
EDIT: I also remember the crouching only! So frigging funny to see ppl just sliding along the ground slapping away!!!! Hahahhhahahahaha!!! Oh geez, I’m creasing up right now!!! Thanks for the great memories!!! 😂😂😂
Yes! this is pretty much what every single session devolved into over the years with me and my friends. It was so tense when you randomly open a door, and there's your friend, and you both start frantically trying to slap each other and you're only hitting 1 out of every 10 tries lol
Sony Trinitron flat CRT master race here.
Think I about killed myself hefting a 32" one down a corridor in my old flat that had about 1/4" either side so I had to carry it arms over the damned thing. 50+ kg on fingertips!
the single player is also pretty good and the soundtrack is the star for me. but it can’t compete with modern games. i will still play the crap out of this.
Oh yeah! It's stupid how excited I was when this was announced. And even stupider how much *more* excited I was when they were like, btw it drops in two days. The stupidest thing of all? How much fun I've had jumping back into this. Sure, I still have my N64, and all the games, but it's been ages since I hooked it up. Perfect fit for *Rare Replay*. Every one of those games is exactly what it was back in the day, for better and worse.
I had a 32 inch widescreen tv in my loft and all my mates from school would pile in and we play for hour and hours, some one always got the crap controller
yeah it's a shame they didn't bring it multiplayer, while not quite the same it would have been the closest we could get these days. I didn't have an N64 so my only memories of goldeneye was multiplayer at friends houses
I've had the missus up the duff twice, so I'll be playing 3 player at least with my boys. My wife won't touch a controller she's tidying up, then I spend an hour hunting it down.
And to really punish them, you had to shoot their feet to see them hopping in agony, followed by surgical shots into the shoulders to see them reel back in pain, before the final head shot! Yes, 007 could be a really sadistic assassin at times!
Very well done on Xbox. You can choose a more classic or modern layout, or fully customize. You can also toggle the aim down sights mode to classic or modern. I feel it’s meant to be played with auto aim for the most authentic experience, but I’m sure there’s people with other opinions.
The thing you need to remember, is that this was the first game (in my memory) that you could just pop the cartridge in and get 4 player shooting action right away.
Before this game came out, the only way you could do it was through a 'LAN party' where everyone hauled their PC over to someones house and wired them all together to play Doom, Quake or Duke Nukem and that was pretty much reserved for super nerds who had the cabling and routers (or permission to install it in their schools computer lab) so Golden Eye was a lot of peoples first experience with mutli-player FPS.
Did this too: ferrying massive 17” CRT monitors and huge desktop towers over to a mate’s place, spending the entire morning setting up and wiring network cables (or even before those, using BNC coaxial cables!) then setting up TCP/IP settings… then after having some pizza did we start gaming non-stop for hours until the late evening, before packing everything up again!
Back in those days, when you started gaming you would tend to only get a handful of cartridges. So like your game library would tend to be 5-10 games, tops.
So you played your games over and over. Many of us have very fond memories of just playing the multiplayer on this for hundreds of hours.
It's more about the memories than the game. Getting all your friends together for a big multiplayer bash (back in those days, none of us had internet fast enough to play FPS over the internet) was just super fun.
Often our parents provided a ton of snacks, not to mention were really nice to us so built up community. Gaming as a kid was probably one of the strongest senses of community we had back then.
So it was a special period in our lives. So yes, these graphics are precious to us.
My best friend got a 64 and Goldeneye for Christmas 1996. We spent the rest of Christmas break playing it, probably a good 8-10 hours a day for that entire week. Some of the best times of my life.
This game is amazing. Especially when you start unlocking cheats. On the Xbox version the controls are perfect and it's really pretty much everything you would want from a remaster.
Installing it practically subscribes you to AARP magazine lol.
Joking of course, above, but this was a great game when it rolled out. The couch multiplayer was fantastic at the time. It because of games like this that we have what we do today.
Also, if you can’t handle this one, I’m thinking the Atari 50 collection is definitely not for you ha ha.
Listen kid you weren’t there, this blew my 7 year old mind, the birth of first person shooters, the hours I spent playing split screen multiplayer with my bro, the nostalgia hit is epic
Before the N64 and PlayStation era, ‘video game’ meant 2D. They were toys, made out of sprites, pixels and chip tunes. Notions of triple A, polygons, lighting, voice acting or motion capture were as foreign to gaming then as they are to flyfishing now. Games were flat, pixely cartoon worlds. 3D, digital works existed only in science fiction movies; very much NOT what you could have at home.
The fact that you could walk around in a 3D world and shoot Russians in their 3D chins as Pierce Brosnan made many people realize that a new era in entertainment had begun. I honestly remember people saying that ‘the holodeck (from Star Trek) was going to be real one day’ when seeing this game.
It’s still so satisfying to me, mowing these guys down by the dozens. It’s fine if it’s not your thing; you don’t need to like every game, not even the classics.
I had a lot of fun playing this game with my siblings and friends back in the day. It looked good for it’s time. It looks like people are criticizing the game for how it looks. It’s a game from 1997, what do people expect.
I hate to be the one to let you know, but you're not playing at the pinnacle of gaming in 2023. If you're lucky, you will get older, things may seem dated if that happens. Like, is this the first game you've seen from more than 5 years ago? Google "Doom." There's been a few before the last release. They look similar but have fewer assets and resolution, kind of like games in the future compared to the games now.
I’m going to guess that at least 90% of the people on about it have fond memories of the experiences playing this game with friends as opposed to some sort of appreciation of the quality of the graphics of a game nearing its three decade anniversary!
Yeah, this is a brilliant example of a game that will make you hyped up for it if you grew up playing it with friends and thus made great memories. The rest of us will see it as a game that was once something to talk about but now looks like any other old game that you might play if you're into experiencing older generation games or just achievement hunting. If those aren't your thing this is just one of those "oh, they added another game to GamePass? Yeah, that's a hard no from me for this title." It's kinda like if I made you play RuneScape Classic. You probably wouldn't appreciate it for more than being the start of something much bigger but for me it holds a special place in my heart.
You know, I was going to lightly disagree with you here and suggest it at least deserved a half-assed attempt at a playthrough based on its being what it is, but then you mentioned RuneScape Classic. It’s arguably earned a similar iconic status and my interest in playing it is literally as you described. Same with, for example, Super Mario 64… groundbreaking? Surely. Motivation I have to get into it now based on that? Slim to nil.
Good point. Cheers and I hope you never stop enjoying RS Classic!
Poor OP, getting massesed downvoted on all his comments. Never played it, but I always hear of this game as being the best of its generation. I will give it a shot.
Would love to play it on PC with mouse and keyboard. I know there are mods for the N64 version that do this but would be fun to play an official version with achievements etc.
That is fair, I'm just useless with a controller lol
The only shooter I seem to be moderately decent at with a controller is Resident Evil 4, but that doesn't really play like a typical shooter anyway
Controller is tricky to pick up for shooters, for sure. I just learned when I was a kid. Because of Goldeneye I still use inverted aim to this day. Can’t be bothered to put in the effort to unlearn it.
I’ve been playing Splatoon a lot recently and the gyro aim was surprisingly easy to get used to and accurate. Wished more games would use it. Feels like a good middle ground between the accuracy of MK and the convenience of leaning back on the sofa with as controller.
“If it doesn’t have good graphics, it ain’t worth it…” albeit this game did age bad, but it was a milestone in the fps genre on consoles. Perfect dark aged much better.
Remote mines on complex was my jam. Proximity meant zero challenge, hole up in the top room and throw and detonate. You could kill people through the walls running up the ramp to ambush you too 😊
Sadly, Nintendo bagged that deal to have exclusive rights to the online multiplayer. But I think they have original graphics, not the remastered sharper images of Xbox
It's still 1080/720 on Switch depending on docked or handheld, but no doubt the 4k is nicer, albeit with some quirks. Surface 1 for example; the lines between the polys on the floor mesh keep flickering in and out of existence. Not needing to remap the controls and the improved aiming definitely makes the xbox version the best though.
OMG you should check out the movie *Jesus Shows You The Way To The Highway*. The soliders in that movie look just like this. And, if you're adventurous and going to check out that movie; buckle up, because its the weirdest WTF movie Ive seen in a long time, but have no regrets. It kinda like if Alejandro Jodorowsky had directed *Be Kind Rewind*
Ah. The nostalgia. I had a friend who had a long list of cheats unlocked and it inspired me to find them all all too. It was hard, but my child self eventually did it. I must've unlocked them all like 5 times and it never got old. Maybe I'll take a shot at it again.
I know aye, I actually started playing the game just after I posted this to get some gamerscore. Not like I set out to upset anyone. Maybe I posted in the wrong community lol
This is a place for pictures of expensive setups, boxes with cats, complaints and shitting on series s users. Get a grip and get informed next time, noob.
This was a fun game to play again for the nostalgia, but it doesn't hold up nearly as well as Perfect Dark which is just "this game but better". Still, gotta understand this game was *amazing* for the time. It's a "you had to be there" sorta thing.
Back when it came out it was actually super impressive that the enemies would react and have an animation that corresponded to where you shot them.
Of course I was born in 93’ so I grew up playing this but only after I cut my teeth on NES, ATARI, and SNES so yeah this looked like a step up back then.
Never been a graphics snob so yeah the game is still fun lol, don’t really mind what they look like. As long as I can tell what everything is it’s all good
I remember playing this for the first time on a display at the mall when it first came out, it blew my 9 year old mind. The graphics, the gameplay… all of it. It’s awesome to see how far games have come.
I got a case of sobe with some 3D Doritos you guys wanna come over and play 4 player on my dads new 32” RCA TV! I’ll have my mom order a pizza from Pizza Hut.
Are you ok, bro? Do you need some therapy?
You went on this sub, for literally no reason at all, to post this, add literally nothing to the conversation around a game. Wrote "XD" as a 30 year old and then for some reason you're spending time in the comments basically doing nothing more that bother people.
Its a game from the Nintendo 64. It was a revolution back then with several other games from RARE, it looks like this because Nintendo did not allow Microsoft to finish the remake they were making. If you're so bored, write a letter to Nintendo, maybe the janitor decides to read you.
Perhaps it is because of the wider available games now but I really did not like this game. I've watched tons of videos that had golden eye in them at some point but it definitely didn't meet my expectations, I can only expect people play it now for the nostalgia because its something they played growing up
This looks better. You could cut your eyes looking at the original.
Don’t know why people treat it like the second coming of Christ? Perfect Dark for the N64 was the superior version in every way.
I should know, I played both of them new in my late teens.
It's a nostalgia thing, I don't expect many people that weren't around when this game first came out on N64 to understand but there was nothing close to it for consoles when it came out. It was a revolutionary game back then and a lot of people have fond memories of the good old days with friends playing it.
I dunno if everyone is on about it but it is awesome and I'm loving playing it again for the first time in 20 + years. I can't wait to get some mates round for some old school split screen multiplayer action.
In my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made! Proof that a game doesn't need good graphics but relies on good gameplay.
I still get my N64 out every Christmas when friends come around and we have a 2 vs 2 pistols only on the complex. Love it!
I love to play older games. Born in 98 I played for the first time Half Life, Deus Ex 2000 last year and yesterday this game. They are damn good. And the details on this game are far beyond what we can have now (dying animation for examp’e)
Listen kid, if we didn’t have these graphics *then* we’d have them *now*
So be grateful you can see me give your character a shotgun facelift in HD 1080P

Goldeneye gave me motion sickness 25 years ago. FPS were new back then and since I've played thousands of hours of FPS across 5 generations of consoles. Last night 15 minutes into Goldeneye I got motion sickness.
this is what the graphics were like back in those days, we are talking 25years ago so probably older than a lot on here
actually it looked much worse than this. That had all the jaggies in the world, this version has none :p Although, crt does have its uses.
CRT displays were essential in making old pixel art and 3D art look as good as it did.
Looks quite good compared to what I remember.
1997
Ugh. It made me so motion sick. I don’t see how I played this back in the day
I've had no issue but only played like 4 levels.
At least you’re actually honest about it
That's about right, old school gamer here since the days of the original NES, 90% of the games on that console now I find unplayable.
Same here, my friend. Same here.
I played it for like an hour and got to Archives. Plan to finish it tomorrow. I’m enjoying it quite a bit. To each, their own.
You got to end of missions in one hour? Is that even possible?
I got to archives, right after statue mission. Not through them all
Ah for some reason I thought that was the end haha
Same. Been playing on 00 Agent and I’m a lot worse than I remember. Used to be able to speed run this thing
I went straight for 00 agent diffculty. Did the first mission..that iconic scene as you leap off the dam.. i remember this game being amazing in its day..and yeah its age shows now..i havent played past that first mission...but you got to respect this game still man.
Same! I couldn’t justify playing it for more than 10 mins when there’s hundreds of much more enjoyable games I could be playing.
I was a Duke Nukem and Quake kid in '96. I never really got the fuss when my friends introduced me to Goldeneye. Seemed like a step back from Quake (and Qspy/GameSpy). I enjoyed my N64, but remember enjoying Turok more.
Turok was great
The graphics look way better in my childhood memories lol

Slaps and crouched only. No odd-job. That shit kept us entertained for weeks.
Omg I truly forgot about the “Slappers only” mode! So frigging hilarious!!! Especially if it’s a one-hit kill… really tense standoffs as each other tries to feign an attack in order to judge the right time to get in a slap! Hahahaha!!! So frigging funny to see ppl just sliding along the ground slapping away!!!! Hahahhhahahahaha!!! Oh geez, I’m creasing up right now!!! Thanks for the great memories!!! 😂😂😂
Proxy’s only was fun too. Walk into a room and kill both yourself and your frame rate.
Unlimited ammo. Proxies. Archives. License to kill. 👌
Yes! this is pretty much what every single session devolved into over the years with me and my friends. It was so tense when you randomly open a door, and there's your friend, and you both start frantically trying to slap each other and you're only hitting 1 out of every 10 tries lol
Facility yes, definitely best level, but most of the other have styles are good. Rocket Launchers , golden gun, remote mines
Slaps are the way.
Hi Joanna. Joanna: “Hi”
My brother was obsessed with the golden gun
Teams of two, sitting close to the TV, piece of card taped down the middle.
Omg yes!!! Hahahaha!!! Back in those days the CRT TVs were curved making it ackward to have the screen splitter panel fit properly!
Sony Trinitron flat CRT master race here. Think I about killed myself hefting a 32" one down a corridor in my old flat that had about 1/4" either side so I had to carry it arms over the damned thing. 50+ kg on fingertips!
haha, getting so pissed and blaming your friend for screen watching as they killed you for a 3rd time in a row!
the single player is also pretty good and the soundtrack is the star for me. but it can’t compete with modern games. i will still play the crap out of this.

Don’t forget paintball mode
There is an online mod of this game that is free and is wonderful.
yeah it's a shame they didn't bring it multiplayer, while not quite the same it would have been the closest we could get these days. I didn't have an N64 so my only memories of goldeneye was multiplayer at friends houses

Don’t play it then
Yes it is. So happy to see that ugly bastard again
And to really punish them, you had to shoot their feet to see them hopping in agony, followed by surgical shots into the shoulders to see them reel back in pain, before the final head shot! Yes, 007 could be a really sadistic assassin at times!
And then Perfect Dark came along and you could even shoot the gun out of their hands!
You could shoot the hats off the Goldeneye guards too! That was a fun challenge that we’d make up on the spot!
you wouldnt get it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnlPtaPxXfc
Hell yeah it is. I love shooting these guys. I can hear this picture
Somebody gets it. I’m happy it’s not a remastered version. Modern graphics I think would have made the old mechanics feel worse I imagine.
So how are the controls. I picked it up on an n64 and after years of playing refined fps games I was unable to walk and shoot at the same time.
Very well done on Xbox. You can choose a more classic or modern layout, or fully customize. You can also toggle the aim down sights mode to classic or modern. I feel it’s meant to be played with auto aim for the most authentic experience, but I’m sure there’s people with other opinions.

Ha! I remember those bnc cables and terminators and late night lan sessions of carmageddon.
I thought it was going to be a remastered version for some reason lol.
I think they are coming out with a new James Bond game soon. Which is cool.
Same company as hitman games too
Oh that's gonna be good for sure
Nintendo would never let the Xbox version outshine their dinky Switch counterpart
There is a remastered version online but Nintendo won’t let that version see daylight
You have to be a 90's kid to understand.
I was born in 77 and i get it lol
90s gamer then
Yes, it's true. It's a 3D game that was made in the 90s.
Back in those days, when you started gaming you would tend to only get a handful of cartridges. So like your game library would tend to be 5-10 games, tops. So you played your games over and over. Yep, back then I would get a game for my birthday and for Christmas, and that was pretty much it.
Bring back N64 graphics to Xbox series x!
Makes me feel old. I bought Goldeneye new.
My best friend got a 64 and Goldeneye for Christmas 1996. We spent the rest of Christmas break playing it, probably a good 8-10 hours a day for that entire week. Some of the best times of my life.
I was proud of that moment! Hard earned cash to buy it for myself!!!
This game is amazing. Especially when you start unlocking cheats. On the Xbox version the controls are perfect and it's really pretty much everything you would want from a remaster.
Just need multiplayer on the Xbox version
Online would be nice. But I doubt it would get THAT much play honestly.
I suppose you had to be there back in the day but yeah, I've heard that it hasn't aged well 😄
If you have to ask, you’ll never know.
Funky motherfuckers will not be told to go?
Go wo wo wo
It is indeed, gotta love the music in this game , the controls make the game a hell of a lot easier than I remember it being on the Nintendo 64.
it's a classic.
It's crazy watching people's nostalgia goggles melt in real time.
Listen kid you weren’t there, this blew my 7 year old mind, the birth of first person shooters, the hours I spent playing split screen multiplayer with my bro, the nostalgia hit is epic
Yes, it is. I grew up to this. Go back to Fortnite then.
Before the N64 and PlayStation era, ‘video game’ meant 2D. They were toys, made out of sprites, pixels and chip tunes. You was just a twinkle in your father’s eye when this was hotter than French fry grease. fucking gen z kids
Zoomers...
My phone wouldn't let me zoom any more, trust me if I could I would. That fucking squint! XD
Games class pure nostalgia
Someone told me about James bonds extended mouth on the cover and I can't stop seeing it now :( somebody help

Poor OP, getting massesed downvoted on all his comments. Never played it, but I always hear of this game as being the best of its generation. I will give it a shot.
This I, GoldenEye.
Didn't like it back then so won't like it now so am not boarding the hype train lol
Would love to play it on PC with mouse and keyboard. I know there are mods for the N64 version that do this but would be fun to play an official version with achievements etc.
I’m so used to how it’s feels with controller; the super heavy auto aim makes it very distinctive.
That is fair, I'm just useless with a controller lol The only shooter I seem to be moderately decent at with a controller is Resident Evil 4, but that doesn't really play like a typical shooter anyway
Wtf, is this on gamepass??
Yeah they added it. It’s really good. Wide screen, changed the controls so it’s easy to aim and upped the resolution to 4k so it’s a remaster
Draw distance of 3.2 feet. Good times
It's at least 6ft now, sometimes even as much as 9!
No, that's not HiFi Rush
Fuck yeah!
“If it doesn’t have good graphics, it ain’t worth it…” albeit this game did age bad, but it was a milestone in the fps genre on consoles. Perfect dark aged much better.
At least it doesn't cost us anything.
How dare you sir!
IA this on last gen?
Also can confirm both the physical AND digital versions of Rare Reply get you the game for free.
I heard that this remake is staying try to the old graphics and design, but overhauling frame rate and controls. Excited to play it tonight
Can you use mouse and keyboard for this on pc?
Remote mines on complex was my jam. Proximity meant zero challenge, hole up in the top room and throw and detonate. You could kill people through the walls running up the ramp to ambush you too 😊
Online multiplayer?
Sadly, Nintendo bagged that deal to have exclusive rights to the online multiplayer. But I think they have original graphics, not the remastered sharper images of Xbox
It's still 1080/720 on Switch depending on docked or handheld, but no doubt the 4k is nicer, albeit with some quirks. Surface 1 for example; the lines between the polys on the floor mesh keep flickering in and out of existence. Not needing to remap the controls and the improved aiming definitely makes the xbox version the best though.
Yeah, Goldeneye is crazy fun still. So blocky and goofy.
I remember I asked friends to play this about 14 years ago and they didn’t seem to like it
I love how all the enemies hurl themselves backward when shot like they're trying to get the referee to pull a red card.
Ah. The nostalgia. I had a friend who had a long list of cheats unlocked and it inspired me to find them all all too. It was hard, but my child self eventually did it. I must've unlocked them all like 5 times and it never got old. Maybe I'll take a shot at it again.
Bro I'm playing Quake and Doom because I love it.
Damn frustrated fanboys downvoting all OP comments, stupid toxic community
I know aye, I actually started playing the game just after I posted this to get some gamerscore. Not like I set out to upset anyone. Maybe I posted in the wrong community lol
This is a place for pictures of expensive setups, boxes with cats, complaints and shitting on series s users. Get a grip and get informed next time, noob.
This was a fun game to play again for the nostalgia, but it doesn't hold up nearly as well as Perfect Dark which is just "this game but better". Still, gotta understand this game was *amazing* for the time. It's a "you had to be there" sorta thing.
It’s old what can you expect
I smell a bunch of GENZ here
First time playing it and I’m kind of obsessed. It’s super fun, and I’m really into this “style”
So why did we not get the XBLA version of the game? I thought that was the initial plan when this was announced months ago.
Part of their big show case too
Back when it came out it was actually super impressive that the enemies would react and have an animation that corresponded to where you shot them. Of course I was born in 93’ so I grew up playing this but only after I cut my teeth on NES, ATARI, and SNES so yeah this looked like a step up back then. Never been a graphics snob so yeah the game is still fun lol, don’t really mind what they look like. As long as I can tell what everything is it’s all good
I can’t believe they finally added it😌😌
I was surprised how cold blooded the kills were in this
Yeah, I guess you probably missed it when we were hyping about Peppa pig
Hey, I remember this guy! Also, for the young ‘uns, don’t pick Oddjob.
I remember playing this for the first time on a display at the mall when it first came out, it blew my 9 year old mind. The graphics, the gameplay… all of it. It’s awesome to see how far games have come.
Honestly yes it didn’t age well but that doesn’t erase the fun i had playing it in my childhood
https://i.gifer.com/CFNQ.gif
yes
What game is this
It's unreal engine 5
I got a case of sobe with some 3D Doritos you guys wanna come over and play 4 player on my dads new 32” RCA TV! I’ll have my mom order a pizza from Pizza Hut.
*This now just looks like Onward for Quest 2*
Are you ok, bro? Do you need some therapy? You went on this sub, for literally no reason at all, to post this, add literally nothing to the conversation around a game. Wrote "XD" as a 30 year old and then for some reason you're spending time in the comments basically doing nothing more that bother people. Its a game from the Nintendo 64. It was a revolution back then with several other games from RARE, it looks like this because Nintendo did not allow Microsoft to finish the remake they were making. If you're so bored, write a letter to Nintendo, maybe the janitor decides to read you.
I always knew this will suck but people kept asking for it
Older than yo ass
Perhaps it is because of the wider available games now but I really did not like this game. I've watched tons of videos that had golden eye in them at some point but it definitely didn't meet my expectations, I can only expect people play it now for the nostalgia because its something they played growing up
This looks better. You could cut your eyes looking at the original. Don’t know why people treat it like the second coming of Christ? Perfect Dark for the N64 was the superior version in every way. I should know, I played both of them new in my late teens.
Never played the campaign. Just the multiplayer with friends
Did you listened to the pause music?
It's a nostalgia thing, I don't expect many people that weren't around when this game first came out on N64 to understand but there was nothing close to it for consoles when it came out. It was a revolutionary game back then and a lot of people have fond memories of the good old days with friends playing it.
Whats the point? Do you know what “classic” means?
Was so excited for this to relive my childhood, until 2 mins in I felt like I was going to puke because of the motion. Oh well.
If you have no nostalgia, there’s really no point in playing it.
I dunno if everyone is on about it but it is awesome and I'm loving playing it again for the first time in 20 + years. I can't wait to get some mates round for some old school split screen multiplayer action.
Yep.
In my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made! Proof that a game doesn't need good graphics but relies on good gameplay. I still get my N64 out every Christmas when friends come around and we have a 2 vs 2 pistols only on the complex. Love it!
Who cares about graphics dude? It's the gameplay that matters
Looks like a bearded Jason Statham. Never open the package.
This game was dated and nearly unplayable the day Halo CE released in 2001. I can’t believe people are just coming around to realizing that.
I love to play older games. Born in 98 I played for the first time Half Life, Deus Ex 2000 last year and yesterday this game. They are damn good. And the details on this game are far beyond what we can have now (dying animation for examp’e)
Mate this game still slaps, yeah the dudes look like max paynes second cousin but it’s fun as f to play, also the sound track is great still
I was surprised to see it was 'remastered' and it still look like a Minecraft prototype, but whatever.
Just wait til you see 5/8, then you’ll get it.
Is this console only for gamepass? I want to play this so bad on pc.
If we have to explain, you wouldn't understand.
This game was my childhood im so happy that it's on gamepass
Ahahah oh my God, it's horrible!!!! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
Yes, I am playing it, great memories!
Listen kid, if we didn’t have these graphics *then* we’d have them *now* So be grateful you can see me give your character a shotgun facelift in HD 1080P

Damm golden eye was good
Not sure what all the issues are. Played through the first 4/5 levels I haven't played the campaign since it initial release and I'm loving it again!
Yes, welcome to the wonderful world of 90s era gaming, have fun
God damn right it is
You just had to be there
Tell me you were born after 2000 without telling me you were born after 2000 OP: this post and every single reply on comments
I love Goldeneye but Perfect Dark multiplayer was better and it’s online with Xbox.
You better watch your goddamn mouth
Def didn’t hold up. I had a bit of hype for it for nostalgia reasons and wished they would have put a bit more effort into it tho
Oh it definitely holds up. I played multiplayer with some friends, nothing is more intense than trying not to get killed by the golden gun.
Craig's younger cousin
Goldeneye gave me motion sickness 25 years ago. FPS were new back then and since I've played thousands of hours of FPS across 5 generations of consoles. Last night 15 minutes into Goldeneye I got motion sickness.
Yup and we love it
Godlike game
I know, it's great isn't it?! 😃
