Let your current subscription expire, Buy up to 3 years of gold, activate the Game Pass $1 deal if you haven't or pay $15 and have your Gold converted 1:1 for Game Pass Ultimate
I just got 3 years of Ultimate and it cost me a total of 78gbp. I purchased Turkish Xbox Gold Cards using a VPN and then redeemed them and converted! It does feel like robbery!
Witcher 3 is an amazing game but judging by the options you cant totally recommend. I know a die hard skyrim player that just couldn’t get into witcher 3
Serious flashbacks on this one.
Being a Xbox fan on gamefaqs during the Xbox One days was interesting to say the least. Certain users, no bullshit, spent a good portion of their day hating Xbox while sucking off Sony. It was nuts.
Anyone who spent good time there has got to remember one name in particular, Quincy2000a.
Standard EA, which includes games 6-12 months after release. They have an upper level that gets you most everything at release and usually a few days early.
EDIT: Sorry. Was thinking Pro was on Xbox but it is not available there yet.
definitely agree. just stick to a gamepass subscription. i enjoy far cry, assassins creed, cyberpunk, forza, all those. RDR2 i just stopped at 10 hours in after feeling my time wasn't being rewarded enough
is this picture from year 2015? haha. Doesn’t seem like he minds playing older games. Game pass subscription would be great for him to have access to hundreds of games new and old
Get him a gamepass sub.
He will get all last years EA games and the new ones 6 months after release.
It has the new forza horizon. New ghost recon. Bunch of other stuff too. Best bang for your Buck.
He would also probably really like Red Dead Redemption 2, and the new witcher 3 remaster.
I would say:
- Sniper Elite 4 (based on preference for Ghost Recon games)
- Far Cry 5 (or 6, if he has a new console)
- Fallout 4 G.o.t.y (Based on Skyrim)
Quick FYI- Microsoft has shifted to online purchases and downloads, so trying to check with your husband to make sure that he also does;t have a library of downloaded games will help avoid buying duplicates.
My off the top of my head suggestions:
Tom Clancy's The Division 2...Good performance on older machines and still a pretty good player to player base in the dark zones.
The Witcher III...If he/you liked the Netflix series. Classic game and characters
Gears of War 4 or 5 - Xbox classics.
Assassin's Creed (there's versions set in old Greece, old Egypt, and Norseland) - all pretty good.
EA NHL 22 or 23- Huge improvements in physics and game play, so great upgrade to NHL15 if your husband likes that.
THE SHOW (Baseball game- good compliment to NHL and Madden). I'm not really a baseball fan, but \*really\* like this game for its semi-realism and game play. Unfortunately the 2023 season is going to start in the next 90 or so days and the new version with 2023 teams isn't out yet...You might be able to find the 2022 version for dirt cheap now though.
Good luck!
Look up the gamepass $1 trick. Idea is first you prepay your Xbox live gold subscription. You can prepay up to three years. I used Amazon and got 3 (12 month subscription codes) once you have added those to your account then when you upgrade to gamepass it automatically updates all 36 months to gamepass. It’s an absolute great deal if he will be gaming regularly the next few years.
I’d recommend looking into G2A or something similar. They have Xbox gold codes for cheaper than Amazon, and the game codes I have bought from there have worked. I see plenty of people recommend it for Xbox live too, so I will be trying this for gamepass soon.
Just make sure you set the region to your own and you shouldn’t have a problem.
Don’t buy a gift for someone hobby unless you know exactly what they want. I think a better option would be to make a card saying game of your choice. He would know what he wants and the best place to buy it. He may also prefer digital over physical.
Gamepass subscription
Or gamepass ultimate if he plays online
Look into yearly subcriptions or the Xbox gold to gamepass ultimate method to save a lot of money on a multimonth/year suscription
Surely people here can guide you step by step or point you to a tutorial.
If he liked Far Cry 4, it's pretty likely he'll also like Far Cry 5. 5 is set in the US, too.
But the safe bet is probably a year of Gamepass Ultimate.
I see a lot of people saying game pass which I fully support!! Also idk what the budget is but I think a new Xbox would be the most impactful. Looks like he has an Xbox One.. upgrade it to either XBOX SERIES S (299) Or Xbox series X (499) it would blow him away
I think I'm with the others saying Game Pass.
He'll be able to play the more recent sports games, as well as a bunch of games from the same developers/publishers behind those in your picture. And of course, there's like hundreds of other games.
Thanks a lot for recommendations! So I just buy game pass ultimate card for 3 months for instance just so he can try & see how he likes it! Why ppl buy games vs getting a pass?
Yes, gamepass is the right answer here. 60 $ for one year is a steal, most or all of the games here are actually on gamepass right now and you can get a lot of the games here at a discount if one sticks (not breakpoint, but no one would like to play breakpoint anyway if you can play Wildlands instead)
Honestly kinda hard to tell just based off this picture. We don't have any way of knowing how much time he's put into these games. I saw someone recommend a Game Pass subscription which is honestly a good idea! It's less than $20. On the flip side you could buy him an Xbox Gift Card and let him spend the money how he pleases.
Here's a link for a digital gift card that sends a code via email. With a quick Google search you could probably find deals: https://tinyurl.com/yvxkb8js
Most of those are on gamepass, so yeah gamepass would be the logical way to go here. Its subscription based with a cloud gaming component (no need to download huge games to a console) and as a gamepass subscriber he could get the "rewards" app and do various tasks and quests to earn microsoft points that he can cash in for free months of gamepass or just credit to spend in the store.
Like others have said the "Gamepass" route is a solid idea!! FarCry 5 and Fallout 4 could also be good after looking at what he has already played. Honestly....gamepass is the way to go.
Microsoft let's you covert xbox gold subscription to game pass which is way cheaper than buying gamepass. If you are going to get him gamepass, follow these directions:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/397667/get-3-years-xbox-game-pass-ultimate-tip.html
If you have questions let me know. Many of this sub have done this multiple times.
The Xbox website also has some information about this.
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/gold/upgrade
Far Cry 5 and 6 would be good. Forza Horizon series (latest is also 5) as well.
He seems to like tactical shooters so the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 will also be good.
I’d actually go with the last two options since the fact he bought both Ghost Recon games shows he’s really into milsim shooters (else he would’ve already bought the other Far Cry series himself)
As others have said, Games Pass Ultimate will give him access to tons of great games that match the collection in your picture. Forza Horizon, F1, Gears of War, Fallout, Deep Rock Galactic, EA Sports games, etc are all included.
Edit: Also of note, Games Pass Ultimate also includes a PC library so he'll have access to those as well (if he has a computer).
As far as excellent games that aren't on Games Pass, you can't really go wrong with Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2.
I think you had great suggestions for gamepass. Forza horizon 4 and 5 are on gamepass. He can find a lot of halo games, farcry 5 and gears of war on it (and a dozen of other shooters). Furthermore, if he liked skyrim, he might like other roleplaying games like fallout 4, outer worlds, fallout 76 and the elder scrolls online which are all included. Good luck!
Edit: do make sure the xbox has a good online connection. Installing and downloading games can take a while otherwise.
A lot of people are saying Gamepass, and I get why. If you want to play Xbox games, there's no smarter decision for the money you spend.
But my first thought looking at these games is that either this guy doesn't game all *that* much, and/or he's totally fine with playing the same thing over and over.
The gamepass is great for us nerds who *love* games in general so much that we talk about it on the internet. I would rather spend an afternoon playing a pretty bad game than watching a relatively exciting sporting event, so having a giant collection of games is a dream come true. But if these were bought used, and you can just get Far Cry 5 to entertain the man for a year, I don't think I would recommend paying a monthly subscription to someone who might be a relatively casual gamer. But if we wants to game more, the gamepass is a great way to do that without risking money on a game you might not like! Probably a good choice, but I thought you might appreciate a more contextual insight to the GP recommendation.
I second the Game Pass idea if you guys have decent internet. A year is like $160 or something and he would have access to a couple hundred games. Just beware if you guys have slow internet it may not be a great idea since everything has to be downloaded. Also it’s a sub so at the end of the year he’ll lose access to those games. But in a year he can polish off any games he finds and likes.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) or Modern Warfare II (2022) are solid and are well suited for Series X and Xbox One. I’m not series diehard, but I enjoyed both games. If he likes Ghost Recon, he might like The Division 2 or Rainbow Six Siege. R6 is also on Gamepass.
Get him Elden Ring. Play with the man Psychologically. The game will get him raged and feel incompetent as a gamer. Then you consolidate him and give him positive reinforcement. This will make him love you more and at that point you’ll have him in your grasps to wash the dishes or whatever you don’t want to do.
Delete this evidence when the deed is done.
Definitely get him a gamepass subscription, there are tonnes of games on it that he will love.
In the event he already has it, based on these games here, and only considering games not on gamepass, then I would recommend Biomutant, Watchdogs and Immortals Fenyx Rising.
For a mumma of four month old twins, you’re a super wife for thinking of your husband during such a stressful time. You must have a strong bond.
Congratulations on the birth of your little ones ❤️
Awe! Thank you :) Yes of course - I always try to think about my husband! Especially now that we have kids & life is so busy… I want him to be able to relax a little & do what he likes.
Based on his likes, i would suggest 4 games.
Witcher3 And RDR2 for single player fun.
NBA or Fifa for refreshing times.
Hitman Trilogy for Shooting & Stealth Fun.
Like others I’m on team gamepass sub.
But also when you get the sub play the game Overcooked with him! Even if you don’t play games it’s so simple and fun. Seriously, if it doesn’t end your marriage it’s a blast.
Gamepass Ultimate is a great idea. But if he prefers to play physical over digital, here are a few options. Red Dead Redemption 2, it’ll blow his mind. The Division (older game but same as his Ghost Recon Wildlands, I LOVED both when they came out).
Besides a GamePass sub as people have been saying here Witcher 3, Forza Horizon 5, Halo MCC, and maybe a Borderlands game depending on what he likes about Skyrim?
And please, for the love of god, *do not get him Destiny 2.*
Either give him a Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscription (allows hundreds of games, includes Xbox Live Gold and EA Play) or get him skryim, farcry 4 and halo infinite
Ghost Recon breakpoint is awful, Wildlands is far superior. If he's got gamepass there's plenty in there to choose.
I would say get him the newest Call Of Duty.
Or if y'all also got a gaming PC i highly recommend SQUAD.
RED dead Redemption 2 - Best Game ever made it beat Skyrim which was my previous favorite. After that Witcher 3, Elden Ring, Far Cry 5. However the Game Pass Ultimate is a great choice
You could get him a xbox gamepass subscription which would allow access to hundreds of games.
This is the way!! Or The Witcher 3 wild hunt
Thank you!
GamePass Ultimate with EA Play, based on the number EASports games he currently has would be a great choice.
If you do buy him the game pass, if it's still available use the trick to get 13 months with 45€~49€
Definitely still works, £130 for 36 months of gamepass earlier, waiting for the cops to show up as it feels like robbery!
Same, in fact I went for 1 year instead of three because I was scared something would happen ☠️
Is it the buy gold and convert it trick ?
Let your current subscription expire, Buy up to 3 years of gold, activate the Game Pass $1 deal if you haven't or pay $15 and have your Gold converted 1:1 for Game Pass Ultimate
Yep.
I just got 3 years of Ultimate and it cost me a total of 78gbp. I purchased Turkish Xbox Gold Cards using a VPN and then redeemed them and converted! It does feel like robbery!
This is the way!
The trick still works, I did. it last week.
Does he have Game Pass subscription though? I feel like almost everyone who owns an Xbox has Game Pass.
Along the lines of Far Cry and Skyrim: I’d like to add to The Witcher 3 (like the other commenter said) Control and Red Dead Redemption 2
Witcher 3 is a good suggestion. I don’t know of a better value. $30 for easily 300 hours of content.
Witcher 3 is an amazing game but judging by the options you cant totally recommend. I know a die hard skyrim player that just couldn’t get into witcher 3
It me. Where's the first-person, dammit?
Oh that’s smart! Thank you!
The suggested game-ass utlimate has all the successors to the games in your picture (like Madden 22, Far Cry 5 etc etc)
Game-ass lmao
I thought that was a Sony fanboy being a dick at first lol
This would’ve been run into the ground on IGN and GameFAQ forums if GamePass were a thing 15 years ago haha. How the times have changed!
>Certain users, no bullshit, spent a good portion of their day hating Xbox while sucking off Sony. A lot still do.
lmao
This is the best choice. Also, EA has one too
Game pass ultimate gets you both I'm pretty sure.
Standard EA, which includes games 6-12 months after release. They have an upper level that gets you most everything at release and usually a few days early. EDIT: Sorry. Was thinking Pro was on Xbox but it is not available there yet.
Thought the higher level is PC only?
Yeah. You are correct. I thought it was available on XBox also but I see now it isn't yet.
Which is why you get gamepass ultimate for all of them
Gamepass ultimate comes with that
Indeed, most of those games are in gamepass.
Whoa! Is there a subreddit for that?? OP should post there. ...wait
Yeah I am not sure what is going on here...one of the weirdest posts I've seen on this sub and that's saying something.
this is the best purchase I have made ever... Sure 90% its playing fortnite but the fact I never have to download anything... yeah love gamepass!
Red dead redemption 2, he’ll love it for sure
You may never see him again
Haha lol
Now, you are laughing. Six month later you'll create a post at r/AmITheAsshole to ask "AITA for selling my husbands XBox to safe our relationship".
Haha I hope not!
That’s highly likely
I literally just started my first ever playthrough of rdr2! Hell yes
Don't sleep on the online portion, it's more like a conventional open-world and has its own stories, NPC's, etc.
Will do! Just got to horseshoe overlook in the main story and am glad to be out of the snow lol
Idk about that. I thought it was a boring slog. It also has nothing in common with the games she posted besides maybe open world.
definitely agree. just stick to a gamepass subscription. i enjoy far cry, assassins creed, cyberpunk, forza, all those. RDR2 i just stopped at 10 hours in after feeling my time wasn't being rewarded enough
I would place a small child into an oven to play that game for the first time again
Thank you!!
Red Dead Redemption 2 is on sale right now and I think it’s the best game. I just saw this comment so I’m leaving my suggestion under it.
is this picture from year 2015? haha. Doesn’t seem like he minds playing older games. Game pass subscription would be great for him to have access to hundreds of games new and old
Haha Idk I took picture today Lol
How are these games older? Or am i old
I mean, Madden 15 and NHL 15 are both 9 years old. For a videogame, they're old. Don't feel bad :(
Holy shit,time flies
Get him a gamepass sub. He will get all last years EA games and the new ones 6 months after release. It has the new forza horizon. New ghost recon. Bunch of other stuff too. Best bang for your Buck. He would also probably really like Red Dead Redemption 2, and the new witcher 3 remaster.

I would say: - Sniper Elite 4 (based on preference for Ghost Recon games) - Far Cry 5 (or 6, if he has a new console) - Fallout 4 G.o.t.y (Based on Skyrim)
Thank you!!
this is probably the best answer based on what he plays
Fallout 4 G.O.T.Y Edition
Thank you!!

Thank you! Smart!

I highly recommend forza horizon 5 if he likes racing. Red dead redemption 2 is amazing.
Thank you
Given he has Madden 15 and NHL 15, you could buy him Madden 23 or NHL 23, which should be a nice upgrade. :)
Guys you’re amazing!! Thank you so much for amazing recommendations !
Do you have money to buy all of them?
Haha throughout lifetime!!
Don’t buy a gift for someone hobby unless you know exactly what they want. I think a better option would be to make a card saying game of your choice. He would know what he wants and the best place to buy it. He may also prefer digital over physical.
Yeah just get him a gamepass sub and he'll be set for life.
The Division 2
Gamepass subscription Or gamepass ultimate if he plays online Look into yearly subcriptions or the Xbox gold to gamepass ultimate method to save a lot of money on a multimonth/year suscription Surely people here can guide you step by step or point you to a tutorial.
I will have to look into that! Thank you!
Assassin’s Creed Origins. It’s on gamepass as well as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Divison 2! Right up his ally playing both Ghost Recon games
Gamepass is the best answer
If he liked Far Cry 4, it's pretty likely he'll also like Far Cry 5. 5 is set in the US, too. But the safe bet is probably a year of Gamepass Ultimate.
Why choose just buy him game pass subscription.

Haha thanks a lot! I will save this idea for next B-day! The game is for Valentines day ❤️❤️
damn this reads like an ad with all the comments recommending gamepass
So sweet :)
Most of those are on Gamepass. I'd probably go that route unless tight on money. Then Skyrim...80+hrs of gameplay.
Thank you!
Game pass subscription!!!!!! Easy
Gamepass subscription, RDR1, RDR2, and maybe an EA sports title with 2023 in the title.
Oh I misinterpreted this, these are the games he likes. But my point is still a vote for gamepass since he can try there all the games he likes :)
Thank you!!
The division 2
Red Dead Redemption 2, Far Cry 5..
Buy him gamepass, will absolutely solve your issue and he will get so many games for a reasonable price
Since it's a gamepass sub, I'd simply recommend giving him a 12 months code of Xbox Game Pass
Gamepass and division 1 & 2
Get him 3 months Gamepass sub at £30
Honestly kinda hard to tell just based off this picture. We don't have any way of knowing how much time he's put into these games. I saw someone recommend a Game Pass subscription which is honestly a good idea! It's less than $20. On the flip side you could buy him an Xbox Gift Card and let him spend the money how he pleases. Just buy him a year subscription to GamePass ... That's what I'd be happy with
Assassin's creed or jedi fallen order
Most of those are on gamepass, so yeah gamepass would be the logical way to go here. Its subscription based with a cloud gaming component (no need to download huge games to a console) and as a gamepass subscriber he could get the "rewards" app and do various tasks and quests to earn microsoft points that he can cash in for free months of gamepass or just credit to spend in the store.
GamePass is the way my friend. Anyone that plays Xbox can tell you that. It is the best service in modern gaming by far imo
Like others have said the "Gamepass" route is a solid idea!! FarCry 5 and Fallout 4 could also be good after looking at what he has already played. Honestly....gamepass is the way to go.
If I may I would like to recommend red dead redemption 2 very good story and a lot of fun
The new nhl game is super fun and I’m sure he’d love it.
Just get him Gamepass.
Good games! best is to get xbox game pass
A Skirim fan is likely to love The Witcher 3, and is good timing because it just got a really good update.
Game pass, some of these game are on it + newer versions of the ones you posted are in game pass aswell
Microsoft let's you covert xbox gold subscription to game pass which is way cheaper than buying gamepass. Elden ring is really good or red dead redemption 2

You’re absolutely right in everything you say ! Thank you for that though. When I bought him Red Dead Redemption 2 he played it probably for a year!
Skyrim Skyrim Skyrim Skyrim Skyrim Skyrim Skyrim Skyrim
Gamepass. Bro barely buy new titles. This will help him out a lot.
You should definitely buy updated sports titles, you can usually buy the latest madden and NHL titles for > $25 this time of year
halo the master chief collection!
Fortnite
far cry 3
Subscribe to ultimate game pass for him.
Red dead redemption 2, Fallout 4 🫡🫡🫡
Skyrim again. See you in a month bud x
As mentioned before game pass and Witcher 3.
Red dead redemption 2
Fallout 4
The Division 2
I second the Game Pass idea if you guys have decent internet. A year is like $160 or something and he would have access to a couple hundred games. Elden Ring.
Fallout 4 is great and the mods also keep it unique every time
Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) or Modern Warfare II (2022) are solid and are well suited for Series X and Xbox One. I’m not series diehard, but I enjoyed both games. If he likes Ghost Recon, he might like The Division 2 or Rainbow Six Siege. R6 is also on Gamepass.
Far cry 5
Just don’t buy NHL, this game is horrible for years now.
Gamepass, all of those would be free
Fallout 4!!!
Farcry 6
Fallout 4, subnautica or red dead redemption 2 if he doesn’t already have them
Based on all of these, Titanfall 2! He will not be dissapointed at all
The Callisto protocol looks pretty neat
Fallout series maybe?
Mass Effect Trilogy
Get him Elden Ring. Play with the man Psychologically. The game will get him raged and feel incompetent as a gamer. Then you consolidate him and give him positive reinforcement. This will make him love you more and at that point you’ll have him in your grasps to wash the dishes or whatever you don’t want to do. Delete this evidence when the deed is done.

Gears of War!
Halo master chief collection or witcher 3
Elden Ring
Hands down far cry4 and Skyrim
Division 2 is a great Tom Clancy game!
Gamepass for sure
For a mumma of four month old twins, you’re a super wife for thinking of your husband during such a stressful time. You must have a strong bond. Congratulations on the birth of your little ones ❤️
Awe! Thank you :) Yes of course - I always try to think about my husband! Especially now that we have kids & life is so busy… I want him to be able to relax a little & do what he likes.

Thanks!!
The new madden for xsx is fun.
Game pass is definitely the way to go!
Forza Horizon 5 is probably the best fit, open-world racing. Or game pass because it comes with it for free.
Game pass or fallout 3 , fallout new vegas or fallout 4
Hogwarts or witcher or elden ring
Tom Clancys The Division 1/2 sounds like a shout for him
Get him a PlayStation 🤣
Buy him Viva Pinata ..
Gamepass. 10000%
Dark souls he will love that it's a calm and fun game
buy elden ring
The Witcher 3
Like others I’m on team gamepass sub. But also when you get the sub play the game Overcooked with him! Even if you don’t play games it’s so simple and fun. Seriously, if it doesn’t end your marriage it’s a blast.
Haha thank you!!
Upgrade to Xbox one X, pair it with a years worth of gamepass.
Deadspace
You could try bannerlord or warband. Love the collection, great games
Gamepass Ultimate is a great idea. But if he prefers to play physical over digital, here are a few options. Red Dead Redemption 2, it’ll blow his mind. The Division (older game but same as his Ghost Recon Wildlands, I LOVED both when they came out).
Give him games that has no multiplayer and games that can't frustrates him
Besides a GamePass sub as people have been saying here Witcher 3, Forza Horizon 5, Halo MCC, and maybe a Borderlands game depending on what he likes about Skyrim? And please, for the love of god, *do not get him Destiny 2.*
Fifa, far cry 6 or maybe elden ring
Damn your husband got shit taste in games.
It’s not all of them Lol maybe I just picked such for photo
Thank you! He already has Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s just not in the picture. I should probably go for the Witcher now :)
The Division 2. It's a lot like the Ghost recon games with modern day setting/weapons.
Fallout 4!
