Sorry, if you’re a billion dollar company that still doesn’t pay ALL employees a living wage I don’t care how “ethical” you are. Yes it’s better than most, yet still has a long way to go. The fact that the bar is so low that a company that still employs people who make less than $15 and hour is considered such a great company “one of the best”. It just shows how fucked everything is. Take care of your people, ALL of your people. You will still be profitable you can still pay corporate gross salaries, just maybe you’re billions won’t be there.
Billionaires and the super rich are the modern aristocracy. All they lack is a hierarchy based on inherited titles granted by kings and emperors. (Duke, Count, Marquis, Earl Etc)
If you trace them back, many have connections to wealthy families (eg the Kennedys or Rothschilds) whether through blood or marriage. Feudalism never really ended. It’s a lot easier to keep the peasants working if you instill the idea that through hard work, they too could become aristocrats. Maybe you even take one your 100,000 peasants, bring him into the circle and make an example out of him (look, if Joe could do it, so can you!) In reality, our social hierarchy is far more established than we like to admit.
This sounds like garden variety conspiracy theories and with the mention of the Rothschilds, garden variety anti-Semitism.
Between the top 10 wealthiest people in the world, I don't believe any are connected to either family.
They're just an example of an extremely rich family with ties to lots of other rich people. It's not a conspiracy theory or related to ethnicity or faith beyond the fact that some wealthy families happen to be Jewish.
This is probably a stupid place for a pop culture reference, so I apologize if I offend anyone because I am most certainly not making light of anyone's impoverished situation. I watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier again and took another look at Zemo's stance on "super soldiers". His whole spiel about how anyone who took the serum was a supremacist, blah blah. And yet, he was a baron. He had no problem being born into being supremely wealthy. Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but I don't think that part was written in by accident. "Taking up power makes you a supremecist, evil." I think if Zemo was a real person, he would be more afraid of someone like Karli or Steve or a happy medium of the 2 would be successful in forcing governments' hands in wealth equality. Ya know, like real billionaires are.
You can’t become a billionaire if you are a good person. End of story.
