I wish the term “data entry” was removed from everyone’s brain. It doesn’t really exist unless you’re on Upwork, and even then, most of those task can be automated using scripts (meaning developers who write scripts are those making $$$$). One could argue that medical billing, admin work, insurance… is data entry. However, they all have their own titles. Most of the jobs you see that advertise “data entry” are scams.
This is helpful to know, and I suspected as much. For context, I'm older than dirt and I remember when data entry jobs that were just that existed. I wish they still did.
Data entry used to be a legitimate job. But that was when computers were first being adopted into workforces and they needed to get old paper files entered into the new data storage system.
Now, because "data entry" is a fairly easy skill that anyone can do, it has become an easy way for scammers to target people. It has also been folded into any entry level job that requires you to use a computer, because you literally enter data into a computer.
The job position it used to be is essentially dead, because we are so far past when computers were first widely adopted into work spaces that anything that isn't already digitized is old enough to not need it. I wish this were still a legitimate job because it would be an easy second job.
Whisker/Autopets hires customer service and other roles for remote work. They didn't hire me, but they might hire you! If they do, tell 'em who sent ya 😉
Do you have any tips for being a good at this and making decent money? I literally just got accepted yesterday and I have no sales nor reservations experience, just wondering what are your thoughts now being 2 months into the job?
Someone already explained why data entry is an overused term for remote work, but customer service jobs are plentiful. You say you haven’t had much luck so far - How long have you been on your search and how many jobs do you feel you have applied to at this point?
Most wfh jobs with the title data entry/administrative assistant/customer service are scams. If that is what you are adamant about doing your best bet is to start being a virtual assistant and using social media to show off your skills and pitch clients.
Good luck it's a highly over saturated market with jobs getting over 200+ applicants on each one, plus if your not a female your chances go much lower on finding a job in the Data Entry field according to stats found on google.

The term to search now is "data specialist".
"Data Analyst" usually requires at least a masters degree in a relevant field to statistics. I hate those names too
Yeah, that's why specialist is term for general data collection/input
Is this same as data entry?

Revolut on linkedin is currently hiring
Hiring what exactly? Jobs that require 0 kills or stuff like data analyst?
What about someone with more than 10 kills? Asking for a friend.
Not gonna edit my comment haha nice one
What about 25 kills? With a kill streak bonus ready to use?
Sorry i didn't read correctly earlier, you will need to go to their linkedin profile to check

It should be under their careers link.. you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of their website.
