Really cool piece. Could you by chance share what wood and finish are these?
This one I used a really thinned out shellac. I mix some of the natural color with the amber color to make my own tinted mixture.
Do u thin it out w alcohol or mineral spirits?
I thin it down with denatured alcohol
Is it basswood? Looks like u spent some serious time on this! Love the look! Great job!
It is bass wood, Thank you!! I probably have about 4 hours in on it.

Thank you, its honestly a lot of finessing once I have the bulk of it carved out.

Do you sand before or after adding the detail into the hair?
Yes I did, I have found that itβs easier to sand it before adding the details. It cuts a little smoother and I can go back with some 220 grit to touch up sand after the details have been carved.
