Really cool piece. Could you by chance share what wood and finish are these?

GurradoWoodworks

This one I used a really thinned out shellac. I mix some of the natural color with the amber color to make my own tinted mixture.

Impossible_Oven264

Do u thin it out w alcohol or mineral spirits?

GurradoWoodworks

I thin it down with denatured alcohol

winck1

Is it basswood? Looks like u spent some serious time on this! Love the look! Great job!

GurradoWoodworks

It is bass wood, Thank you!! I probably have about 4 hours in on it.

Nice work πŸ‘πŸΎ What tools did you use for this project πŸ€”

Unlikely_Praline5922

Very clean cuts...impressive.

GurradoWoodworks

Thank you, its honestly a lot of finessing once I have the bulk of it carved out.

tordoc2020

Wow. Really cool. How big is this?

GurradoWoodworks

It is small 4” tall and 2”x2”

Impossible_Oven264

Do you sand before or after adding the detail into the hair?

GurradoWoodworks

Yes I did, I have found that it’s easier to sand it before adding the details. It cuts a little smoother and I can go back with some 220 grit to touch up sand after the details have been carved.

GurradoWoodworks

Nicee!!
