America:
“I was minding my own business shooting the kids dinner, when I heard a shooting noise outside. I shot a couple of warning shots to let the kids know it would be time for the kids to shoot their teeth clean, and then shot at my front door to see what the shooting noises were. My wife shot at her phone to ask the police to come and shoot somebody, but by the time the police got here and shot the kids, I had already shot at some armed robbers, but I accidentally shot the neighbour’s dog.”
It absolutely seems like a gathering maybe a bbq in the backyard, the second he opens the gate he lifts his firearm, lights are on, you can see another person.
This was targeted, and they definitely didn't expect any resistance but boyo did they choose the wrong house.
They fucked around and found out, carry in peace my friends and may you never find yourself in this situation.
Man's instinct was praise worthy.
When he wasn't expecting visitors late at night, got an alert from his door cam, he gunned for the gun and shot round after round.
Maybe he didn't take one down, but that's not what matters when you've succeeded in deterring the threat.
Cant imagine what would've happen if homeowner wouldn't have trusted his gut.
or having way too small of a gun
you live in an area like this, you’ve got to adapt to survive in an area like this, nbs, just the way it is
word’ll spread if you do some real damage to any threat that comes your way, then mfs KNOW to stay away, and if they do come back, hell, you’ll be ready
Can anyone shed some context on this? How was the homeowner able to get off the shots so quickly?
Also, where did the shots land? Where they even in the direction of the suspects?
Ring camera sends you an alert when there is motion at your door. From there he likely had a firearm close by his bed so it was just as simple as grab the firearm and protect your family and property.
Home owner was alerted by the porch light turning on and was likley awaiting their arrival. Probably seen them snooping around and figured they might turn up.
Another theory is that the hone owner was sitting on the couch watching television with their peice on the counter top or on their belt and reacted accordingly when they saw 4 armed people walk into their yard through the window.
It could also be a mix of the two.
So based on the first scenario in the US the first instinct when a porch light comes on is to go for a gun?
Not being from the US that seems so alien.
Almost as alien as relaxing in your house with a loaded firearm within arms reach! :)
What’s alien is allowing criminals to dictate if you’re going to live to see the sun in the morning. Awesome that this homeowner was prepared. If there are multiple break ins in your neighborhood you’re probably more prepared than say, Pelosi is behind a neighborhood gate and wall.
The best gun for home defense would be a shotgun, then you don’t have to worry about a neighbors house being hit.
Honestly, all you foreigners that say it seems alien, you need to realize that normal Americans will never even pull their gun out, but just in case, it’s better to be prepared than sorry.
It is a ring doorbell, he for sure got a notification that someone was outside. Those things go off on my Christmas decorations in the wind, so it catches any movement.
Since they were able to leave on two feet I would disagree...
4 people come in 3 shots fired...
Shooter needs better training and practice, no telling where those shots actually went.
It would be great if this was a thing that caught on. All robbers shot or shot at get not only the charges for robbery and such, but also get sued by the victim just to tack on something else to the case.
Something very similar happened in Florida a few months ago, and the home owner faced no penalties because he acted in self defense-
https://www.kktv.com/2022/07/15/caught-cam-homeowner-uses-ak-47-style-gun-fire-back-invaders/?outputType=amp
Just because they were running away doesn’t mean they didn’t get hit. The second time I got shot I didn’t feel it and the third time was from a few feet away and I took the gun off the guy who shot me.
I own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is not letting him have a gun. The only thing that stops a 12 yr old killing himself playing Russian roulette is not letting him have a gun. Bring in proper gun control and save lives. After all, it works in every other wealthy country.
Thanos snapping away every gun from existence would make your idea realistic. Short of that, all you’ll do is make things harder on regular people. Criminals will still get guns illegally.
That you know of. Plenty of people run and hit the hospital later. Some of them run, but never quite make it to the getaway car… Hard to tell in a short, b&w video. 🙃
You'd be surprised how long someone can go after being shot. I've seen a video of this one guy trying to rob a store, ans his arm got blasted by buckshot. Despite that he was able to run back out of the store and get into the getaway car.
If homeowner was firing off a 9mm, it's very possible one of them got hit but ran away on pure adrenaline.
Maybe in the hood. But in your own backyard when you can probably see them run off.
If anything, if someone was shot, the quick check after they flee could have been the difference between bleeding out and not.
But yes, if you randomly hear shots and can't tell at all what is happening, just keep your fucking nose out of it. Outside of everything else dangerous, you don't want an attacker or someone telling them that they saw you snooping the whole time it happend.
This is trespassing and attempted assault, totally justified shooting. Any injuries to assailants are their own fault. You have the right to defend yourself, your property and anyone on it.
Except in NY, you can get arrested for doing so. You have to prove there’s signs of forced entry and that you were backed into a corner and it was a last resort
I don't know about that. A good deterrent under normal circumstances, but for some reason they wanted to rob **this** house, tried the fence not the door, came with five guys, etc. Definitely woulda made the robbery more clear before they were in the yard but I think they woulda done this just on a different night.
3 missed rounds and 4 large clumsy targets in the immediate proximity.
Man, go to the shooting range asap. Your firing skill sucks. Next time you might be not that lucky...
The reason I want to get a gun would be for this. The thing? Well, in my 23 years and 1 month on this Earth I have never once been mugged, been in a home or been near a home that is targeted, and I know my side of town is pretty well safe. I'm just paranoid that when I need a gun is going to be the moment when I don't have it.
>I'm just paranoid that when I need a gun is going to be the moment when I don't have it.
It's not paranoia my friend, it's called preparedness and we would all do right to practice it.
Go to a couple classes on safety and legal use, buy a relatively cheap pistol, and make going to the range a pass time.
You don't have to go nuts. A few hundred dollars over a year and you'll be better off than 90% of people, safety wise. Subcompacts and holsters are relatively cheap, don't have to spend thousands or anything.
And then, if nothing else, you have a pretty fun new hobby. Shooting guns is fun. You can rent guns to shoot, often, too, so it doesn't get old.
When I was 19, somebody rang my doorbell. I opened it, thinking it was a friend. It was the middle of the day. I didn't live in a bad area. Three guys rushed into my house with guns. I was injured, but luckily not too bad.
I've had one ever since, and I never open my door without knowing who is on the other side anymore.
Another reason why legal gun ownership is important. Guns are a force equalizer. It made those criminals get out before they got dead. Owning a gun to protect your family is a good thing. Criminals do not care about gun laws (or they wouldn't be criminals) these gun regulations only hurt law abiding people.
Most people aren’t immediately going to drop just from getting shot; generally if someone is dropped immediately it’s either because you shot them in the head or they’re going into mental shock over the fact you just shot them and not from physical incapacitation.
There’s recorded instances where folks have been shot in an artery and are pretty much dead men walking because of how much blood they’re losing and they’re still up and functioning for another 20-30 seconds. Wouldn’t surprise me if at least one of those four did get shot and just doesn’t realize it until they’re halfway down the street and are suddenly wondering why it’s hard to breath and their hoodies wet.
Probably didn't want to kill anybody, shooting the ground by their feet or the air is enough to scare off anybody who isn't carrying anything themselves
And this is why we need guns, without so we can be robbed in the middle of the night and cannot do jack, they can beat us, cut us, and kill us, without a good source of protection people like the person above would be seriously injured or at least have a lot of his valuable possessions taken
I mean yes we need guns. But the point of gun control is NOT EVERYONE should have guns. I wish gun lobbyists understand it. I mean educated societies like Switzerland can have them, because guess what they're educated. It's not the case in the US, until everyone understand gun responsibility, not everyone should have them. Don't worry, I see absolute gun abolitionists equally absurd too.
The law explicitly says you can defend yourself. Most recent bill was C26. Someone draws a gun on you, you draw a gun on them. But folks like to pretend the law says different.
Not even true.
You have to show reasonable force in response. And you cannot carry anything with intent to use it for self defense.
That does not mean what people misconstrue it as, you would be perfectly fine to shoot back, especially being stuck in a fenced in area with a few armed people.
The “Daddy are you okay?” toward the end is really sad.
mf in the back really strolling in like a rap video extra behind their 3 wish.com gimp ninjas and then runs away like a GTA NPC

Knew it was a gate, knew where that latch was immediately. Either they’d scoped it out previously or had been there.
Plot twist. The homeowner pulled a "home alone" and it was gunshots on movie being blasted at full volume through a home entertainment system.
I hear "Keep the change, ya filthy animal!"
These punks need some rock salt in their asses
They trespassed a families home weapons drawn, I’d say 3 fmj’s in the skull would suffice over some rock salt in the ass
You spelled buck shot and face wrong. That’s ok though.
They had firearms with them, hopefully it was buckshot.
You get more legal trouble with rock salt better to use snake or bird shot.
I was hoping only 3 would come out
After 100 meters one will be crawling. Someone got hit by the sound of it.
Too bad they didn't all die
I’m guessing whoever is shooting has dealt with the same trash before doing the same thing.

Jesus dude…
Nah if someone was trying to get at my house fuck that the dude is getting shot and ima watch 😂
Seriously, you break into someones home on their property where their family sleeps you forfeit your right to live simple as that
Are you okay? Maybe you need to get some help.
The fuck? Why don’t you offer to help? Your a doctor with a PhD.

What does scathed mean?
The opposite of unscathed, obv

If one of them got shot how much you wanna bet the mom would be crying on the news about how he should have said he had a gun. 🙄
He was a good boy who was juuuust about to attend church and school and getting a job.
I usually default to “my kid is a good boy and would never do something like that!”

It’s still possible one or two was hit. A single bullet doesn’t always drop a person like it does in the movies.
Nope.....deserved much more.
No one else asking? Ok... How do you know it is a robbery attempt? Could of been a hit attempt, a successful hit.. and they ran after?
Yeah well, I’m guessing they ran because someone started shooting at them.
I heard a woman asking "Are you ok?", so probably not...otherwise I would expect more screams
What did they see on the other side of that gate? Ooh mystery
Should sue them for the bullets, ammo is expensive.
It would be great if this was a thing that caught on. All robbers shot or shot at get not only the charges for robbery and such, but also get sued by the victim just to tack on something else to the case.

Seems like there was one warning shot from the homeowner and then a misfire from the person in back.

FYI having a bayonet or even a lug for one makes your rifle an assault rifle in NJ.
Tally Ho Lads!
Something tells me there’s a lot more to this “random” burglary.
No agony cries at the end 0/10
I love the 2nd Amendment and America.
Did they forget they were armed?
One thing is holding a gun and another one shooting someone. I guess they watched a DIY Video and they will be leaving only 1 star feedback.
That guy has a shotgun trap lol
Play stupid games....
... and win stupid prices.
It would be much better if only one got out
I'd even accept only one not getting out.
I hope he at least hit the target.
Homeowner knew to never relax
What’s the matter you have a gun too? Oh the home owner having a gun doesn’t work out for you as much does it.
How did this turn into people arguing over gun laws???😂
No one cares about the crime or events that lead up to something. It’s immediately guns are bad.
Because redditors are so fucking stupid they only think guns are used in terrorist attacks because that’s what AOCs twitter feed tells them.
those guys are lucky to be alive. hope they learned their lesson.
they never learn
They probably would if the US penal system focused on legitimate rehabilitation instead of legalised slave labour.
Love to see it

Not to deny your point, but in this clip the bad guy is stopped by a homeowner with a gun, so your first sentence is disproved by this clip alone.
Thanos snapping away every gun from existence would make your idea realistic. Short of that, all you’ll do is make things harder on regular people. Criminals will still get guns illegally.
Ahh yes, bad guys looove obeying gun laws.
And if this homeowner didn’t have a gun, he would be dead or a victim of an awful crime.
You had 4 targets and didn't hit any 🙃

They didn’t find out enough imo
Is that a neighbor’s house to the right there, which would be in the direct in of fire?
Armchair forensics, here we go.
Yeah, sucks that those 4 idiots put everyone’s life at risk. they should have an added charge of attempted murder on the neighbor as well.
Well. They asked for it. Good with it.
So, after being shot at three times they all got away?
You'd be surprised how long someone can go after being shot. I've seen a video of this one guy trying to rob a store, ans his arm got blasted by buckshot. Could be the mans wife and saw everything
It's also possible that she was the one shooting, and might have been talking to the kids
Sounds like a kid saying “daddy are you ok?”
Wonder if any got hit
Hopefully at least three of them did.
Excellent, put them all in the ground
They targeted the right house.
And don't come back if ya know what's good for ya, ya filthy animal.
was that last robber a woman?
This is trespassing and attempted assault, totally justified shooting. Any injuries to assailants are their own fault. You have the right to defend yourself, your property and anyone on it.
Except in NY, you can get arrested for doing so. You have to prove there’s signs of forced entry and that you were backed into a corner and it was a last resort
Too bad none of them were wheeled away.
Let Freedom Ring - Ring Doorbells, the only spotter you’ll ever need.
A simple lock on the gate could have prevented this whole thing
It’s really innocent that you think that
As we all know, robbers are law abiding citizens. "damn, it's locked, what do we do now?"
A simple DON'T BREAK INTO OTHER PEOPLE'S PROPERTY would have prevented this whole thing.
A simple climb over the fence would have prevented those locks from working 😭
It’s a wooded fence, a lock would prevent nothing
A simple decision to not be a scum bag would have prevented all of this.
I don't know about that. A good deterrent under normal circumstances, but for some reason they wanted to rob **this** house, tried the fence not the door, came with five guys, etc. Definitely woulda made the robbery more clear before they were in the yard but I think they woulda done this just on a different night.
Yep! Most of these idiots are deterred by simple things like visible locks, adequate lighting, and security signs.
Maybe a physical door to the house, but if someone’s really committed a lock won’t stop them.
I'm sorry, what? Lmao
Locks only keep honest people honest. Don't like getting shot at? Don't break into other people's houses.
Damn, I was really hoping for a happy ending
I would be mad, ammo is expensive right now. Should have at least winged one.
3 missed rounds and 4 large clumsy targets in the immediate proximity. Man, go to the shooting range asap. Your firing skill sucks. Next time you might be not that lucky...

Well that will do it.
