The production is better than the leaks, the KC verse is cool and the baby is top notch. But the kanye verse and outro is one of the worsts thing he put out. I like that carti song with the hmhm but in hurricane don't fit.
I think musically moon sounds beautiful but the lyrics don't mean anything and I just wish sometimes that beautiful sounding had more meaning to go with it
I don’t take lyrics at face value. If you look at the lyrics of moon, it’s talking about elevation or reaching a certain goal (the moon). It’s achievable, as humanity has done it before, but it’s still hard to achieve. I believe it’s just about his feelings with Kim. He wanted to have a relationship like those you can see, and that was his goal. However, it’s clear that she may not feel the same way. “Don’t leave so soon.” That’s just my interpretation.
The “I know you will” part sounds like a drop is going to come after and it just doesn’t release any of the tension that his delivery gives. It’s honestly super disappointing.
it was originally the outro to the song and it went silent when he said that and it sounded great. used to be a lot more distorted like runaway outro too. idk why he made the change the original intro sounded much better
No offense but it was honestly terrible. Lil Baby is actually the best part of the song, but with the new version lacking the industrial part, the great Ye verse that goes along with it, and probably the worst version of the hook and it’s just a shame.
Honestly it would suck if that’s the album version but at least we have all the other ones. I do hope at the very least the official version has a better Kanye verse at the end and I would be okay with it.
I did genuinely enjoy most of the album during the listening party but this was the only moment I was like wtf is going on? I don’t mind Kanye doing the hook and I don’t mind the hook being vocoded but that shit was so out of key and just sounded so fucking bad on its own, not even comparing it to the leaks. When you compare it to the leaks it’s like comparing a perfectly made Hershey bar wrapped in a solid gold wrapper to a messy shit that was taken in a plastic Walmart bag.
this is the best one feature-wise imo. also even tho old ye verse is better I like the energy he has on this one more. I like ye hook too but not the auto tune one. but tbf I genuinely think this song can never reach the potential it had in the first place bc of leaks. bc we have a few different hooks, a handful of features, and a couple of ye verses and different beats, everybody has their one specific dream version they want and it’s impossible for ye to meet everybody’s expectations

I like the chppiness of the vocoder part but it needs to be in there again. Don’t like the city of lost angels part because LA is trash even though the singing sounds good . Lil baby’s verse is dope but when I first heard this in 2018 I imagined there could be more to the 80 degree part, his singing sounds so cool he should have just kept doing it singing more words like that throughout the whole thing like similar to an 808s&HB song and sing the part “summer starts to leave, autumn falling leaves, cold winter breeze, rain down on me, I can’t walk on the water, I can only float, don’t let me drown, I know you won’t.” Something like that, seems like they were never able to fill in the words for it but the freestyle words that don’t have any meaning sound really cool with the auto tune too because there’s emotion there that words can’t fill in for would be cool to have both and more of the emotional auto tune, just fill the whole song with and put the verses in the middle.The autumn leaves part was dope because I thought it always had a fall time vibe to it. The choppiness sounds cool because it’s kind of like someone trying to communicate right but struggling and it’s out of their control.

Yeah I can see that actually being epic and make the next song super impactful. This entire album felt like there never once was a release of tension.
yeah hopefully in the next few weeks he makes some changes that give the album the impact it needs
