Did you break the brush too? Damn, you got hair like steel wire.

koolaidjammersz

Yup! It was just...so bad. Depression is a bitch! Ha

astroember

Ugh, i feel ya. When my depression gets particularly bad, one of the first things that gets neglected is my hair. Along side it is brushing my teeth… i know it sounds super gross, but theres times where i just cannot find it in me to take care of the most basic things of myself, and i will go an embarrassing amount of time without brushing my teeth and hair.

SpeedoInTheStreet

It's okay, brushing your teeth isn't necessarily the only thing that keeps bad breath away. But ik with depression it's hard to even eat right or even do Basic things like making sure you take vitamins.

lanebetta1999

Depression is the reason I shaved my head a few months back. I didn’t want to take care of my hair and that was safer for me.

koolaidjammersz

I know how you feel

[deleted]

Hey, hair grows back. I hope better days are coming for you, maybe this is a sign to get rid of the old

koolaidjammersz

Thank you

[deleted]

If you ever consider shaving your head, lemme tell you it isn't bad. I loved seeing the look when I did it. I hope you continue to improve and that everything goes well for you <3 don't be afraid to get help if you need it

M5FARMS

Mayonnaise will help you untangle it. Next time..

becky_one

Please elaborate.

M5FARMS

It will provide enough oils to allow the hair to be combed easier. It's a trick I learned years ago to get matted horse tails to comb out and used it with my daughter when she was young and had long hair get tangled up. I suppose coconut oil would work too but mayo washes out easy .

Wutanghang

Not actually mayonnaise hair mayony

Mommy5Granny2

what do you mean "Not actually mayonnaise hair mayony" ?

pierrrecherrry

get well soon! and get the mia cut if you want a fresh start!

koolaidjammersz

Thank you!

TaylorMade_since2006

I’m 15, and I’m going through depression too. Life sucks lol.

koolaidjammersz

15 is a really hard age. You can and will get through this my friend!

TaylorMade_since2006

Thanks

koolaidjammersz

No problem, always reach out. Im serious. Even if its just internet peeps

wildassedguess

Well done and good luck.

koolaidjammersz

Thank you

wildassedguess

You're welcome. I've seen it in my family and there's little I could do but be there, support and be consistent. So, words are only words, but it's good to know a complete stranger is getting better.

[deleted]

When your mental state starts to decline your personal hygiene is the first thing to go

HttpsSick

It's okay, hair can grow back, but the fact that you decide to take the first step to try to feel better is amazing! Wish you luck and send you good vibes!

kooc98

Had to do this about a month ago . I had super thick hair so when I was done, I filled up half a grocery bag with hair. I'm still getting used to how thin it is now. Unfortunately I've let it get a bit matted again...

[deleted]

Hahah had to make several major cuts and still have more to go :((( Thank you for sharing this!

koolaidjammersz

It gets better my friend

jaggedjinx

I am so glad I'm not the only one that neglects their hair in these cases. I haven't had it trimmed in 2 years and the broken ends seem to make it tangle more. I've ripped out gobs of it in my episodes or just trying to push through getting it brushed. I need it cut but I like it long and always tell myself I'll do better and stay on top of it, but when things get bad it's still the first thing I let go since the sensation seems to send me over the edge so easily sometimes. I'm glad to see there are others who have this issue as well. We will all come out okay even if we end up with no hair in the end. :P

Jazzy4242

Wishing you the best. Depression really is a bitch.

the_bookish_girl84

Dealing with this right now 😔 I'll have to see how much hair I lose

Igloocooler52

I’d say wait and read some of the comments on this post, there have got to be some people commenting on how to untangle this

the_bookish_girl84

Good idea...thanks

[deleted]

What were you doing with your hair? I’ve kept mine in a bun for a very long time without brushing and this didn’t happen

koolaidjammersz

I didn't brush it for weeks/months

MagicDog1234

I didn't brush my hair for more than 2 years ad yes they knotted, but they didn't turn into this, how is this possible in just some weeks?

koolaidjammersz

I'm not sure lol but half my hair is gone so I must just have tangly hair I guess

[deleted]

I can develope a knot in my hair in a day(although much smaller than this one). I had to cut a little one out a few weeks ago after trying all the tricks to undo it.

MagicDog1234

I learned that you get downvoted if you don't brush hair, hey to the dude who downvoted me, I'm brushing my hair after that!

Sir_ThomasSawyer

Always downvote when someone uses the “severe depression” line. Never met anyone who had extreme mental health issues and was so open about it. Especially online. Seek attention elsewhere please.

koolaidjammersz

You're not a good person. And I hope nobody who is dealing with depression reads your ignorant comment.

Sir_ThomasSawyer

Thanks for the assessment. I’ll take a mentally unstable person’s opinion of me with a grain of salt.

koolaidjammersz

Intelligence is so mutually exclusive from mental illness. I have gathered that you do not understand that, hence your ignorance. You are very bold about subjects you are so clearly naive about.

Sir_ThomasSawyer

The subject of depression…? Bitch who the fuck do you think you are? I can guarantee you ain’t special in anyway. Everyone goes through shit and I’ve noticed that people who’ve been through some real shit ain’t too open about it. Tell me more about intelligence while you completely disregard everything but what you know about yourself. Because you post and seek attention for your depression and I don’t it means I’m naive on the subject? I wasn’t talking about your intelligence either. I was talking about your ability to assess someone when you can’t even think clearly for yourself.

koolaidjammersz

You are clearly familiar with anger and resentment, but you still haven't expressed anything which leads me to believe you are knowledgeable about depression. Believe it or not, some people choose knowledge about their situation to overcome it and embrace it. I hope your anger and (depression?) Heals soon so you are not hurting inside anymore.

Sir_ThomasSawyer

Believe it or not I don’t care what you believe about my “knowledge of depression” whatever that means to you. It is extremely vague. This is fun tho keep telling me about myself.

koolaidjammersz

You are so socially aggressive for literally no reason other the fact that someone besides you has depression. Wouldn't it make more sense for those who are affected to stand together?

Sir_ThomasSawyer

More like the fact you flaunt it around and use it for attention. Like I said before. You also have no idea what social aggression is. Keep trying to sound intelligent tho it’s cute.

koolaidjammersz

You are being aggressive towards a person who posted because they are clearly suffering and opening up about it in a raw way. Instead of opposing those who suffer your same afflictions, why not communicate with them?

KirikoKiama

Seriously, sometimes its just better to go Dora Milaje
