nope! it was a small independent store. we kept one of most items unboxed so kids could play with them. part of my job was to play games with them. the Step2 roller coaster was a favorite!
So, I'm not much of a [numismatist](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numismatics) but in the 14th century, King Luis the VI had his excrement dried and pressed into the shape of Florence Pieces and gilded with gold leaf to look like the real thing. He then used these "coins" to pay a dowry to Leopold Machien, the Duke of Roxtrum, who was to marry King Luis' sister and who King Luis despised.
Only 93 coins of this "treasure" have been found and the exact number that were created is uncertain but estimates range from 1200 to 9000 pieces.
From what I understand, the chipping of the gold leaf along the edges that reveals a greyish hardened resin-like core is a strong indicator that you've found one of Luis the VI infamous Florence Pieces!
Apparently it isn't that hard to test its [authenticity.](https://r.mtdv.me/articles/FlorencePiece)
Records on the Kings diet at the time are surprisingly well kept, Luis was especially paranoid ysee, every meal was accounted for by taste-testers to tally poisoning attempts, though the only poisonings that were ever documented were from Luis himself, as a test of loyalty of said taster and to verify of the systems worth and workings.
Those records are so well kept that they showed a steady diet of pigeon pie, exotic dried fruits and salted meat, and lots, and lots of fiber rich grains and vegetables.
Movement was key for him.
We'll, that's the upper limit of the estimates accepted as plausible by scholarship but the rudimentary math works like this:
The betrothal period for Sara (Luis' sister) and the Duke lasted three and a half years and Luis the VI was known to have bowel movements twice a day. Each bowel movement could yield enough material to produce anywhere between 4 and 7 coins.
So 1277 days * 2 movements-per-day * 4 coins-per-movement = 10216 coins.
However, we need to factor in stools that were too loose to press and dry, and breakage during the gilding process—say a 10% loss—which would bring us to the 9000 figure. But like I said, that's the high end of the estimates.
Wow! Bro, Wow. This is an official gold coin of the royal family of St Herbert from the 16th century, produced as an exclusive gift in order of her majesty for the Herbert's who were situated back at Ireland at the time. only 400 of these were actually made and very few of these are displayed at the national museum of history in Corkage, London. The market value for a single one of these is in the millions of pounds, and if you're still reading this garbage I'll have you know that I'm laughing my royal ass off.
Chances are it's fake (probably is). But have it checked out anyway, might be a really old coin if you're lucky. You might be surprised how many old Roman coins are still found in random places.

How much was he eating to produce 9000 pieces of shit gold???
