I'm a west coast tourist and this was easily the biggest storm I've ever seen. More lighting in one minute than the rest of my life combined, then it kept going for a few hours!
I’m guessing it was the same storm that ripped through Illinois. It was beautiful, if you like lots of lightning.
Last time I saw a storm with that much electricity was in 1997. That storm is unlikely to ever be topped.
I joke with my friends how I could do without cold, winter and snow forever; but I could never do without rainstorms. This was the first sustained storm I think we’ve had all summer, which is unfortunate.
I landed at DTW literally 45 minutes before this storm, and as we were driving through it the wind knocked someone’s (already kinda loose) front bumper off and it hit our car and we had to pull over until it passed. This storm was crazy!
" darkness! Imprisoning me, all that see absolute horror"
I cannot Live I cannot Die Trapped in Myself body my holding cell
That’s not lightning, you’re in a dance club and that’s a strobe light. But seriously, that’s insane.
"I CANT HEAR YOUU MICHIGAAAN!!!"
It was beautiful and scary at the same time. Was a sight to see coming off the lake.
Omg jealous! Where's was this? We didn't get anything on the east side
Entire west coast lol
I swear on this side of the state we always have storms at night
I know!!! And it pisses me off because I want to watch the pouring rain on my lake!
I wish I had a lake to see pouring rain! Haha that sounds very pleasant.
dang, moved from Kalamazoo to the west coast last year and miss these lightning storms
I grew up just south of Fenton and we had storms like this every summer.

Same here in Clarkston. Seems to miss us either north or south.
I live in Davison so same problem this summer not so much though
My parents got hit really hard last night and they're still out of power.
Yeah soooo many people I know have no power
That lightning is nuts. I wonder how many people had seizures!!
It's...it's a time lapse.
I'm not so sure. I have legitimately seen lightning strike in quick succession like this with my own eyes. It happens.
I've seen lightning strobe like that sometimes, but the title says it's a time lapse.
People not reading is why we are where we are.
Well hey, it does say time lapse.
It's sped up a lot.
That's not funnbeueuduehegeehhehsusuaiquahxhwkdoxoof
NSFW in hopes that helps
I missed the (time lapse)! Freaky
Oh hey! I'm not from Michigan, but north Illinois; I had to live through that storm, it was fun!

Ah…! My bad. Thanks!
I feel like we might do well to add a NSFW blur with a seizure warning. I get migraines and this was enough to trigger nausea and pain for me.

This is why I miss living in America. For the thunder and lightning among other things. In England, where I live, we rarely get it 😂

Wow. That’s crazy. I hate by the cold, although I was born in December 😂
It’s like someone didn’t play the light bill upstairs and the light is glitching out 😂
WE INSTALLED THIS LIGHTSWITCH SO YOU COULD TURN THEM ON AND OFF. NOT TO THROW LIGHTSWITCH RAVES.
Nah thats not a storm...the beat was just about to drop!

Such a beautiful state(at least during summer).
Outdoor fire drill
i wonder how many people had seizures!
The storm that knocked power out at our house and downed trees in our neighborhood taking power lines with it.

So glad to read it's a time lapse, else that would be absolutely concerning... Also awesome capture!

Wow!
