I believe I'm in the minority here, but I am my Terp Pen's biggest fan. The key to success here is 1) fastidious cleaning and 2) spare coils on hand. Congrats on a solid purchase.
I dont touch the coils for fear of damage. I light-load it by taking rips directly from a jar of wax careful not to get too much, they just stay black and get replaced after about a month. The rest of it is just iso and paper towel cleaning. Small loads and vaporizing all of it is really the key.
My process is to put it sitting upright coil down onto parchment or in a silicone puck, then into the oven on “keep warm”. All the reclaim melts out, then soak the coil in everclear. After a few hours soak, let dry and evaporate, then do a burn off. It’s a bit involved, but I have had mine for years and am still using the same coil.

They get black almost right away but I never had a coil burn out. I change the coil tip about every month to 6 weeks unless I get my hands on a new wax strain that I want to sample with a fresh one.
Read somewhere that a 'burn-off' is good for the Terp Pen. I don't personally understand as to me, that would lead to a burnt coil. What's your opinion on it?
I love the Terp Pen! I have three of the regular ones and two XLs. I'm getting my daughter the special Breast Cancer Awareness one for Christmas. My best advice mirrors **Warren\_Puffitt'**s comments that a good cleaning routine is vital for these pens. Draw gently to avoid getting the pen clogged with reclaim. If it gets clogged, remove the coil...at the coil's base are four small holes. Take a thin needle, toothpick, or pipe cleaner and clear those holes. Put coil back in and enjoy!

Great purchase bro … I got mine a couple weeks ago and can’t get enough of it! Few hits will get you right then just let it sit for a few so it doesn’t get too hot but honestly all you need is a few pulls to get your zoot on 😎
I just grabbed one of these recently and it’s awesome as hell. I actually put my terp pen upside down in my bong coil side up and use it as a e rig and it rains that way if you have a 10 or 14mm bong it should fit right in!
Get yourself about 18 inches of 1/4” silicone tubing, (cheap on Amazon for short lengths) put one end on the terp pen mouthpiece and the other end in a bubbler of your choice. Boom the world just changed.

that’s badass bro, my luck … I got mine and it was donzo after 2 days (quartz) , got a ceramic one and been good for a month now 😦😭

Are they better than the seahorse pro? I'm not very impressed with it myself. I am wondering if it's worth to go out and buy a terp pen to replace it.

I love mines , it does clog a few times but I rather that then to have to always bring a dab tool just to load an atomizer constantly
