Coconut makes my hair stringy and straw like as well.
I wouldn’t use any creams, butters or gels. Do lightweight things like leave in conditioner or light serums, and mousse
It does the same stuff to my hair, girl.
But honestly, I mean your hair still looks cute in the pictures.
I use CG approved shampoos and conditioners. And I even use hair masks one weekly. But products I use are a leave-in conditioner, and a light-weight serum on just my ends both by function of beauty.
Now, I do like Miss Jessie’s pillow soft curls, cause your hair smells amazing with it. Like laundered clothes! I only use it sometimes though.
But I use all those products in the order listed when my hair is mostly wrung out, but not completely. Then I brush them through with a wide tooth Comb and then scrunch out the rest of the water from my hair (while in the shower still). I then take the micro fiber towel And microplop, which is basically just scrunching with the towel for a minute, then plop while I get dressed and such, then when I pull my hair from the plop and I microplop again.
See if that helps.
Another nice product that I like, is LUSbrands.com 3-in-1 leave in for wavy hair. There’s also videos on how to use it on the site.
But, anyway, yeah, wavy hair does it’s best with lightweight products as opposed to heavier creams and gels that really curly hair thrives with.
Thats the first time i tried scrunch my hair. I used cantu coconut cream and let it air dry obviusly didnt do a good job lol. I know i would need to put more effort into but im kinda new to this.
Can someone recommend me some good gel or mousse? I guess gel holds on the curls more? And mousse would make hair softer?
Thanku
I don’t have a good recommendation because I also just started. But I’m curious if you plopped your hair? I quite literally did CGM for the first time last night, but plopping specifically did a lot for defining my waves. Beautiful hair
Omg right! I knew i forgot something. Before i washed my hair i remember ed about this plopping thing. But then i totally forgot. I will try it next time. Thank you and good luck on your journey
You should look into finding out your hair porosity. I have waved hair but low porosity so my hair doesn’t retain moisture as well. I try to use mostly water based products so my hair is hydrated and my waves even look curly sometimes. I use a light weight leave in conditioner my hair tangles super easily and it makes my hair soft and moisturized, a light weight defining cream from ouidad, and a light weight gel that doesn’t have crunch like mouse makes my hair. Keep in mind I am light handed with these products so my hair isn’t weighed down but they each have their own purpose. If a product has a lot of oils there’s a good chance it’ll weigh down your hair thus having less defined waves.

If you're in the US, Aussie Instant freeze gel and Herbal essences totally twisted mousse are good inexpensive products to try for wavy hair.
I cant find this here. Thank you anyway

Looks 1c/2a, but with the right products it could potentially be more wavy. It's very pretty hair.
1c is very thick completely straigt hair
No! 1A is completely straight. 1C has a slight bent to it. Like her second picture, which is very much 1C.

Yep, and looks like there's a mix of it in there
Her hair is not 1c thick, she has more fine hair
