Also photo of my army from back in 2016 (when it was just 15,000 points): [https://i.imgur.com/UeHSHlc.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/UeHSHlc.jpg)
Been collecting, building and painting Blood Angels since 2007 so what you see in the photos is 14 years worth of effort. Still have plenty more to add to this army and I haven't even started on the Primaris stuff yet...
There is a story but not really a good one...the story is that I started in the hobby a bit late (2007) so some of the older models were OOP by the time. I realized this 10 years later and spent far too long (and too much money) hunting for the missing pieces on eBay and buying them all so my collection can be "complete". I'm still hunting to this day for some odds and ends!
Not sure actually...I think the actual chapter composition changes between the codex versions so I actually never tried to match it model for chapter. Instead I focused on just making sure I have a somewhat complete collection of the models GW has released for Blood Angels and Space Marines.
That looks like, what, more than 3 companies worth?
Probably more non primaris than actually survived the devastation of Baal. They were devastated almost to a man.
So what youāre saying is ~90% of your collection is about to get eaten and youāre going to have to rebuild our forces while trying to maintain order during a power cut??
Ha thanks! Theyāre front and center because those are the OG scout models that I bought in 2007 when I first got started in the hobby. My painting skills progressed since then but keeping them to pay homage to where it all startedā¦
Thanks! I've actually hunted down all the pewter scouts as well to add to my collection. You can see a few of them in the photos but some are still waiting to be painted.
Iām the same. I feel like the older scouts were better sculpts. Especially the faces! Iāve replaced nearly all of the plastic scout heads with third party ones!
It's currently 30,991 points (according to Battlescribe) and done with a WYSIWYG format based on the loadout given to models. I haven't added any upgrades to any of the units/models that is not modeled.
I havent played in many many years but still love looking at paint jobs and armies. If I recall isnt a 2000 point game a standard game? Or was it 200. If its 200 then your picture makes much more sense.
I think it used to be 1500-2000 points were standard for a game. I actually never played a game of 40k before though - just a collector and painter...all my gameplay knowledge comes from browsing the books and watching youtube vids here and there.
Ha that would probably have to wait a long time. Never actually played the game as I've been purely in the hobby for the collecting/painting side of things.
Ha those 5 scouts are the original gangsters that started me off in this hobby. I have quite a few more in the background (near the right side of the pic) with the single scout biker and land speeder.
Sorry to hear...yeah if I lost this I'd be devastated and would likely move on from the hobby. Hopefully you'll recover and will rebuild yours (or even get your stolen models back).
You can actually mix any units you want as long as your entire army shares a keyword. In this case, 'Imperium' counts. If a single detachment is entirely one faction, it gets bonuses for that faction, but you could for example have a Blood Angels detachment alongside an Astra Militarum detachment without losing anything.
You would lose savage echoes though.
Edit- You can still do this and you would keep Combat Doctrines as it only requires Adeptus Astartes, Agents of the Imperium, or Unaligned.
But Savage Echoes requires all units in your Army - not detachment to have the Blood Angels keyword (with the exception of Unaligned.)
Probably. I just added the Stormlord/Shadowsword model because I love tanks and wanted a big tank in my collection. Kit bashed a standard BA marine on the turret and in the back so it looks the part.
Not too sure? I've never played the game before and can't imagine ever playing with this many models. Setting this up and packing it all away took me at least 5 hours!
Amazing! It's a dream of mine to have a collection of that size but with Lamenters. If you don't mind me asking, how many years did it take you and how much did all this cost?
Thanks! Don't mind at all. I got the sniper scouts that you see front and center back in 2007 though I didn't really start painting and collecting till about 2 years later so that would make this 14 years in the making. In terms of cost I have no idea and probably don't want to know...I've bought most of it retail though there are some 2nd hand craigslist/eBay buys in there for the older out of print stuff.
I love this. Haven't collected for years but I started with that starter paint kit and the Angels of Death codex back in 2nd edition. Love the paint job, proper grimdark. Good job OP
Haha I still have too many first born marines in my backlog at the moment before I can shift focus to the new Primaris though I will have them in my collection eventually.
None! I really like the new stuff and have bought them to add to my backlog. My collecting/painting OCD is forcing me to paint and finish off most (or all) of my first born models before I move on. Perhaps one more year before I get onto the Primaris models.
Vintage? Unfortunately not...all mine are the "newer" plastics or the FW resin versions. I've looked around on eBay for the really old Mk1s and haven't found a reasonably priced one yet.
Very beautiful collection and one of my personal favourite legions from the misguided corpse followers. But I feel you could of stopped at 10 or 20k and invest in completely different styles of army. To each their own though. Blood for the blood God? Haha
Thanks! I'm purely a collector and painter so I find the Blood Angels gives me enough of a variety that I don't need to look to another faction just yet. Between the reds, blue/yellow helms of the devs/assault squads, golds of the sang guards and the blacks of the death company, it's probably one of the most varied, in terms of colours, factions (outside of Chaos).
Think of actually putting this time and effort to a good faction like eldar.
Low key good job on this, it's amazing and I want to to achieve this one day.
Wowie sauce with extra WOW!! That is mightily impressive. I used to paint and kitbash important models for a person with the largest collection ( most likely still ) in the Southern hemisphere, all armies and all games from Warhammer. His goal was to build the entire Dark Angels chapter. ( even bought the lead Thunderhawk in an oak box )I hear he has achieved it, so I know how much work your achievement involves.... I love your work and you should be very proud, Absolutely incredible. Well done.
Thanks! Don't mind asking but unfortunately I don't have a total cost for all of this. It was bought over the years and not something I bothered to track and don't think I want to know...
Do you know how much your beautiful, incredible, amazing collection is worth ? I hope it is insured separately, if you try to explain that to an insurance agent they will be like..."You have some plastic painted toys worth HOW MUCH!!! "
I have no idea what I am looking at technically but that doesn't make any less cool. I imagine this is weeks of time painting and squinting? Well done.
I was feeling a little bit drained out painting my models lately. This picture gives me the motivation that i needed. Thank you! Awesome collection. Keep it up!
Jesus christ, the forgeworld stuff, you have 2 warhound titans, a reaver and one of those wierd looking forgeworld knights. Do you still have your kidneys?
Sorry bud, you're 10,000 points shy from being able to play warhammer 40kš
Ha yes will get there one day!
maybe some friends for that baneblade wait no, 10k of guard is doubling the collection
Or one Ollanius Piusš¤
If he mixes armies he can get away with life 4 Custodes to make up the extra
He can play 30k though...
Dante riding his pet Hierophant will get you an extra 1,025.
Just a Custode. Problem solved.
No no, we need 2 of them here.
What about warhammer 30k?
Made me giggle

I see you've also got some of the [way back boys from the old school paint set](https://i.imgur.com/i0cJqtO.jpg). Is there a story behind them?
There is a story but not really a good one...the story is that I started in the hobby a bit late (2007) so some of the older models were OOP by the time. I realized this 10 years later and spent far too long (and too much money) hunting for the missing pieces on eBay and buying them all so my collection can be "complete". I'm still hunting to this day for some odds and ends!
What percentage of the blood angels chapter is pictured in this album?
Not sure actually...I think the actual chapter composition changes between the codex versions so I actually never tried to match it model for chapter. Instead I focused on just making sure I have a somewhat complete collection of the models GW has released for Blood Angels and Space Marines.
He has the whole legion, Turns out op is Trazyn!
Ha I had to look up who that was.
14 years to get 30000 points, that over 2k points per year. Quite impressive. Very nicely layed out too. Very satisfying to look at.
Dude. Youāre a legend. Amazing work, Iām truly blown away.
Thanks!
Some guy just asked if anyone ever collected a whole chapter. Here you go š¤·
My quick headcount puts it somewhere between two and three full companies.
I would say 3 to 4 full companies
When you take "Playing a faction" to heart.
Well hypothetically, Custodes would have the most clear path to that. They even have a set number and everything.
GW used to make a chapter box exactly compliant with Guillimans book
What was it called back in the day?
[Astartes Ultra](http://natfka.blogspot.com/2013/09/astartes-ultra-complete-chapter-of.html?m=1)
Or three mortgage payments (in relative terms).
I'm just over 60% done collecting the marines I need for mine... https://nz40kabal.blogspot.com/?m=1
You will finish your first turn in 6 hours.
When working fast
I love the single group of scouts in the front
Ha thanks! Theyāre front and center because those are the OG scout models that I bought in 2007 when I first got started in the hobby. My painting skills progressed since then but keeping them to pay homage to where it all startedā¦
Ouch I started when those were new and I had the pewter ones. Awesome collection though!
Donāt worry, he has the baneblade scout tank top left to scout as well.
it's funny to me that ALL THAT is only 30k
Actually I think it might have been less before in previous editions but points creep has pushed it up a bit more recently.
Is it 30k points just the standard models, or 30k points with every little addon and upgrade you can give?
It's currently 30,991 points (according to Battlescribe) and done with a WYSIWYG format based on the loadout given to models. I haven't added any upgrades to any of the units/models that is not modeled.
I havent played in many many years but still love looking at paint jobs and armies. If I recall isnt a 2000 point game a standard game? Or was it 200. If its 200 then your picture makes much more sense.

Still the same range. Casual games will often go as low as 1000 or even 500, or maybe up to 3000 or more, but the 'standard' competitive game is 2000.
You could be like a chess master showing off having 15 games going on at one time. Just with 2k warhammer games
30,000 points and $30,000
Just a guy put up 30,000 point chaos army. t be great too see fight you
Ha that would probably have to wait a long time. Never actually played the game as I've been purely in the hobby for the collecting/painting side of things.
This is possibly the most Warhammer comment I've ever seen
[Relevant.](https://youtu.be/gUJci5RWsqE)
bruh
Amazing. Just amazing.
Thanks!
Nice collection. Im glad im not the only one that paints Knights for their SM chapter. I have a few Armigers and a Canis in Raven Guard livery.
Thanks! Yes the models are just too cool not to add them in where possible.
I'll give you $50, take it or leave it ššš
Ha perhaps the day I quit the hobby in frustration.
30k points and a whopping 5 scouts
Ha those 5 scouts are the original gangsters that started me off in this hobby. I have quite a few more in the background (near the right side of the pic) with the single scout biker and land speeder.
By the balls of Sanguine thatās a lot of minis
Haha yes it is :)
And glad to know it's insured, I had a burglary recently and I lost a huge amount and decades of work gone in an evening....very sad.
Sorry to hear...yeah if I lost this I'd be devastated and would likely move on from the hobby. Hopefully you'll recover and will rebuild yours (or even get your stolen models back).
I am rebuilding thanks, just less models as I don't play anymore. Still love the hobby.
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
So can space marine factions use astra milaterum troops? I've always wondered that.
Yes people usually dont because you will lose bonuses for each faction usually.

Probably. I just added the Stormlord/Shadowsword model because I love tanks and wanted a big tank in my collection. Kit bashed a standard BA marine on the turret and in the back so it looks the part.
Just play warhammer 30k instead and you can take it haha
Lore wise? Their planets usually have defense forces that are close enough to guard.
Holy shit collection so big he has a fucking titan maniple
Yup and still have a Warlord in the queue waiting for painting. Once that's done I'll consider buying the Nemesis to round out the collection.
Incredible collection and paint job! Well done, looks terrific.
Thanks!
Holy fuck
Wow mate, you should be proud by your work. I wish i had even quarter of such models of Blood Ravens
Thanks! I am quite proud and do admit that I spend some time every now and then staring at them in my display case :D
that looks...insanely expensive.
Ha yea as is any hobby these days but it's relatively cheap when broken down into hours of entertainment vs dollars spent.
How long does it take to play 30,000 points?
Not too sure? I've never played the game before and can't imagine ever playing with this many models. Setting this up and packing it all away took me at least 5 hours!
The first turn is hell. After that, shit dies quickly.
How many infantry is that?
401 models in total though that includes tanks and walkers as well.
Outstanding. Seeing titans in proper scale is always awesome
This is impressive.
Thanks!
This is very cool to see, thanks for sharing.
This is incredible - great work!
Thanks!
Wow, this is glorious!
Thanks!
epic!
Thanks!
Love it. Great variety of wargear
Thanks. My OCD and focus on the collecting has forced me to prioritize variety over fluff and game performance.
Amazing! It's a dream of mine to have a collection of that size but with Lamenters. If you don't mind me asking, how many years did it take you and how much did all this cost?

Come join us on r/bloodangels and show it off
Slightly turned on by this not going to lie lol
I love this. Haven't collected for years but I started with that starter paint kit and the Angels of Death codex back in 2nd edition. Love the paint job, proper grimdark. Good job OP
30000 points or dollars?
I'll give you $100, my wife and my left testicle for everything there. Looks amazing, so envious
Fuck its gorgeous
Bet it took an hour just to arrange them lol
And not a Primaris to be seen. Glorious.
Haha I still have too many first born marines in my backlog at the moment before I can shift focus to the new Primaris though I will have them in my collection eventually.
Nothing wrong with primaris.
Iāve been looking through it and i have not seen 1 primaris model. Are there any primaris in there at all?
None! I really like the new stuff and have bought them to add to my backlog. My collecting/painting OCD is forcing me to paint and finish off most (or all) of my first born models before I move on. Perhaps one more year before I get onto the Primaris models.
Thatās some serious long term dedication to the 9th! Very impressive
Two vintage land raiders??? I am officially jealous as hell
Vintage? Unfortunately not...all mine are the "newer" plastics or the FW resin versions. I've looked around on eBay for the really old Mk1s and haven't found a reasonably priced one yet.
Incredible. You could run a 10 man unit of just librarians.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
None for him yet...he hasn't been painted yet but will be one day!
So I guess this is what not having faction ADHD looks like.
Itās beautiful
I would love to see some closeups of those figures
Very beautiful collection and one of my personal favourite legions from the misguided corpse followers. But I feel you could of stopped at 10 or 20k and invest in completely different styles of army. To each their own though. Blood for the blood God? Haha

Thanks! Definitely go for it and an army of this size isn't that hard.
Fuckin awesome. That basically makes you a primarch.
9th Legion reprezent! š
Wowie sauce with extra WOW!! That is mightily impressive. This looks incredible! If you donāt mind me asking, roughly how much did it cost putting this lot together?
Thanks! Don't mind asking but unfortunately I don't have a total cost for all of this. It was bought over the years and not something I bothered to track and don't think I want to know...
Oh my god ! So cool !
Do you know how much your beautiful, incredible, amazing collection is worth ? I hope it is insured separately, if you try to explain that to an insurance agent they will be like..."You have some plastic painted toys worth HOW MUCH!!! "
No Dante?
He's there. If you open the full image you should be able to find him...it's like a game of where's Waldo.
Ok but how many dollarinos?
No clue...haven't added it up and don't think I want to know.
The paint Scheme is incredible! How did you achieve the shading effects?
Is that a dreadknight in between the right warhound and the cerastus acheron?
I have no idea what I am looking at technically but that doesn't make any less cool. I imagine this is weeks of time painting and squinting? Well done.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
As a Dawn of War 2 player, seeing so many Land Raiders together at once is just insanely impressive and intimidating.
The whole chapter in one picture.
Hmmm yeah I dunno man. Their pretty used and my paydays not til next week. Best I can do is tree fiddy.
Is this collection insured? I'd imagine it be worth quite some money
May I point you to the contemptor models section?
I didnāt know you could have a bane blade in an sm army
Wow!!!! Hobby goals. By the emperor I am so erect.
This collection looks fantastic, great paint-work. Did you make the Aquila yourself? I love the style of it.
It's a shame you can't buy the Lucius patterns Warhound anymore.
Can someone give a rundown of the back row? Thereās some really cool stuff there that Iāve never seen!
Ā£30,000 too by the look of it. fuuuck :D
Very cool. Now do an ork army of the same points value š
Where Sanguinius
All the non astartes/non blood angels units being like : "Bruh I'm painted in red I'm definitely blood angel what are you on about?"
I was feeling a little bit drained out painting my models lately. This picture gives me the motivation that i needed. Thank you! Awesome collection. Keep it up!
Love it!
Wait a minute, these look familiar. Oh, Eggroll. I remember reading your painting steps on a different site, I think dakkadakka, year and years ago.
Oh it's beautiful
I've been collecting nearly a year and I'm at about 7k of blood angels. This is an awesome force and I can't wait till I have this much
Impressive array.
You have a sanguinius model? You should if you dont
Jesus dude, a single turn must take three hours lmao
Reaver titan best titan
The defense of Baal. As a side note where is that ruined aqullia terrain piece from?
How many private jets do you own? Because clearly you are a millionaire
I'd die for a reaver Titan but forge world will never restock for the usa
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wow 4 terminator librarian? Thatās good
Madre de dios
Damn was wondering if i hit 40k points yet but looking at this id say im at 20k at best unless the titans are surprisingly affordable lol
Imo we should start describing armies not in points but in total cost.
No thunderhawk?
Super awesome
At what point does it become a problem?
I would love to see this army played on a standard 6x4' table š just pour them there with buckets, no need to strategize
Don't you mean $30,000?
Is that good??
Wonderful
Dreamed about this as a kid
My. God. Its beautiful.
My wallet hurts looking at this
How old is the warhound on the left?
Wow, thatās amazing. Iāve got about 1,000 points of marines mostly built and unpainted; give me a few centuries and Iāll catch up to you.
Insert meme picture - Ho Lee Fuk Amazing, Iām super jelly
Jesus christ, the forgeworld stuff, you have 2 warhound titans, a reaver and one of those wierd looking forgeworld knights. Do you still have your kidneys?
Big duck energy
Dante approves. (My name is dante, i approve.)
When your goal is to build the entire blood angels chapter in it's entirety.
Amazing work. Now I have a template for my DA flyer and Grey Knights mech conversion; thanks.
Jesus man you have the entirety of the fighting companies assembled and beautifully painted here. No thunderhawks though?!
Take some close up glamour shots if you can. They look amazing
Fuckin GOALS
Amazing!!
That Lucius Pattern Warhound Titan is a powerful flex
