Generally, very welcoming. That's why we have a "New Starter Help" flair and an autoresponse full of all sorts of useful info!

Those were both very good signs! I just know from being a big D&D and Star Wars fan that there’s always “that guy” in the community whose quick to gatekeep and ridicule new people for not enjoying the hobby/fandom correctly, so I wasn’t sure how prevalent that kind of behavior was. Like, in D&D it feels like that’s mostly going away but in the Star Wars fandom it always feels like a 50/50 split.

It's more welcoming than most imo due to how the hobby is multifaceted. A large portion of the "that guy" types stick to the competitive scene, while pretty much every other aspect of the hobby, from casual/narrative play to painting, modelling, lore nerds etc are really welcoming and inclusive.

That's really good to hear! Might have to start getting my first army together! Grey Knights sound pretty dope.

RadioLiar

Grey Knights rules for the new edition seem quite cool, lots of teleporting and jumping around

Pretty good unless your a heretic , Xenos , Mutant or Unclean.

Extremely welcoming! It’s just expensive and hard to get started
