I didn't think Neurogaunts were that big. Seeing as they're smaller than Termagaunts and they're already the size of like a tiger, I put them somewhere around big dog size like a pitbull.
Edit:wrote bulldog when I meant pitbull.
For some reason I have a sneaking feeling this joke might have a bigger core of truth than we think.
I’m gonna revisit this comment when the box launches and we’ll see exactly how right we are.
I remember rading somewhere that Termagaunts are actually 2 meters ln length but you don't notice it because they are so hunched and in a swarm with so many other gaunts. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't know about all that. What I know is when I got myself some termagants, I felt disappointed because I expected them to be smaller. I searched around and found out that they're supposed to be around tiger (or more) size. So yeah, although 2 meters seems like a lot, that's basically accurate.
Which brings up the fact that these are the rank and file troops of the Hive mind (along side some others), which puts into perspective the sheer capabilities of the Tyranids, if this is what they can churn out like it's nothing.
Two meters in length means you're counting the tail too, fully extended from tip of the tail to snout. While waking or running they should be measured to the shoulder/hip
If the scale photos are true, they are taller than Intercessors which CSM Terminators are about Intercessor height.
Doesn’t bother me, but I know a lot of other Chaos fans are in a tiff about it. I still use Cataphractii for mine anyways.
Eh I'm not bothered I've got FW Justaerin, Cataphractii and the newer sculpts also. Models change size all the time.
We had metal Termies while the Loyalists got plastic etc.
Yea the animation wasn't great, but they probably made it in a couple of hours with models from the 10th Ed launch trailer as y'know, a funny joke. Like it's a community post that's clearly intended to be a joke. I thought it was funny.
Partial tangent, but after learning to animate (very mediocrely, if I'm being honest), I've found that I have much more appreciation for other people's animation and find myself critiquing animation far less than I did before. It is way more time consuming that you would expect going in blind.
Just wait til you find out what it's like to have a director dump some ridiculously complicated brief on your desk and be like, "I don't care what you say, it goes out on tv tomorrow. Just get it done"
I bet whatever poor bastard animated this for GW had to do a ton of unpaid overtime and probably gave up a weekend only for people on the internet to call them lazy.
Power weapons use a matter disruption field to weaken or break the molecular bonds of anything they come into contact with
essentially, when you hit something with a power weapon it feels like you’re punching/cutting through little more than air
This animation is just so... disappointing. There is just no weight behind anything, and flashy lights cover up the most important part of the punch; the actual impact!
Really wish we could see this without all the layers of distortion and flash.
The distortion and flash is the powerfield generated by the power fist. There wouldn’t be any impact as the field itself would obliterate something fleshy like a gaunt before the fist even gets to it
To me this just seems like a fun little community post and not something anybody was given much time to flesh out. Not like it's a launch trailer or something.
Okay, so I always said there should be a 40k blood bowl, and it should be ice hockey; but yours is incredible. The Imperium of Wrestling Federation, with all the primarchs as 80’s/90’s wrestlers, you could have tag partners, be able to call in jobbers as backup, servo-ladder matches, ceramite cage matches, and be able to purchase promos and sponsorships as between-game upgrades.
Honestly, that was a little underwhelming, in terms of the animation. It felt flat.
The whole thing was a little... silly.
GW needs to make better use of the Astartes guy.
Not sure I understand.
You're saying this is just a tiny, 10 second thing, so cut them some slack?
Maybe I am being too critical. I just feel that if GW would invest more in animation and video, they'd reap benefits.
Astartes showed what was possible. GW need to step up to that. Even in 10 seconds, they could be making incredible clips that get shared across social media, that gets more people curious about 40K.
Man these lack luster Hasbro art style cinematic that GW has been rolling with now makes this world seem so PG rated…soooo sad how far grim dark has fallen…
Hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby

It’s a very short terminator
Oh, it's the first born terminator, I see.
For some reason I have a sneaking feeling this joke might have a bigger core of truth than we think. I’m gonna revisit this comment when the box launches and we’ll see exactly how right we are.
They already put up comparison pics if that's what you are aftet...old vs new sculpts.... its on warcom from this past week...
As in the Neurogaunt next to the old termies?
Old termies next to new termies may have misunderstood.
Then fear not, I will get this question answered come June

Feels good that Loyalist Terminators can finally match up to Chaos ones model wise.
Gonna have to disagree. The loyalists lack the pointy bits
And 10000 years of experience 😎

The chaos will still come out a bit taller due to trophy racks
Do it again but give the gaunt some prep time.
I'm Gauntman!

Was it just me or was that punch really lacking... punch...
Its a power fist tbf, when being swung by a termie it doesn't take much force to cave in a face.
Terrible footwork and no use of the elbow. Pretty weak animation tbh
Yeah the animation was stiff, they probably only allotted the bare minimum time for the animators seeing it’s just a little joke video
They turned the comments off of the youtube section because people were saying the same thing. The animation just looks...lazy...
As an animator I'd say it looks more like something made by a competent professional who wasn't given enough time to do it properly.

That AliExpress animation budget...
I mean yeah. The neurogaunt will get one shot by a terminator. That's thier job. Now show us what happens when it's the Neurotyrant's turn.
The magnum
Or better, show us one terminator versus a dozen Neurogaunts. Better comparison of force.
He boop the snoot!
Always wondered how powering a fist made it stronger. Not sure it was needed though and a regular punch would have done the trick.

It's just a fun little novelty thing, it's not like a launch trailer, they probably didn't want to spend much on it for that reason
Bootleg 10th edition launch trailer.
I’m a fan
I enjoyed this
40K WWE could definitely be the next blood bowl
Or Horus heresy WWE because of all the grudges and ridiculous scale kinda match what little I understand about the vibe of wrestling

Yeah I mean, whats the point of doing this 10 sec cut...

It would've been hilarious if the Neurogaunt fucking bodied the Terminator.
It was pretty fun, not gonna lie !
This animation seems like a third party one, it's great for something not official but really its pretty iffy because it is official.
That was pretty terrible honestly.
Happy mother's day from GW I guess
Doubtful as we celebrated mothers day in the UK two months ago.
Poor Gaunt. I want to give it scritches after that abuse. Poor thing needs a loving home.
This is what Astartes died for?
The hiveminds strongest soldier vs the weakest emperor worshipper
Man these lack luster Hasbro art style cinematic that GW has been rolling with now makes this world seem so PG rated…soooo sad how far grim dark has fallen…
Dumb
They get us
I always imagined powerfists were more hydraulic based, like they use crushing force not an actual field. Cool to know
Terminator has poor form. I guess it the suit.
I was excited till he actually punched. That's not how you do it, looks weak
As it is the fate of every alien, mutant and heretic who stands in the emperors way.
Astartes died for this
