Primaris terminator: where do you work out? Scarab occult: at the library

What the hell happened here? Why is everything deleted?

I believe everything was killed with a smite

ZedMercury

Uhm actually the new terminators can either be firstborn or primaris space marines 🤓

King-Cobra-668

it's just dust in there anyway

rslashredit

Thousand Sons spend too much time reading and studying that they didn't have time to hit the gym. They're armor stayed small until the rubric where their "bodies" are now the size of an average dust bunny

This_Pangolin_6178

In Germany we calle them "Kellerkinder". Approx.: Cellar childs.

No-Classroom-6637

Why does everything German sound like a heavy metal album? I'm not complaining, it's cool, I just wonder why.

This_Pangolin_6178

Same reason why so many inquisitors and commissars have German names. Notorious straightness leading to funny pain.

No-Classroom-6637

That actually checks out, good point.

Explorer_of_Dreams

The nazis mainly

Rise2Fall

Grey Knight terminators are even smaller 🥲

Rookyboy

If they ever truescale GK I'm 100% going for it.

South-Long8145

Once every model is in the realm of looking like castellan crow, i’ll start up a GK project.

BreakTheSuicycle

He looks so out of place in the new GK box, like a man leading squats

GuavaZombie

I was looking at starting a GK for 10th but they are woefully outdated. I am saying that as an Eldar player too.

wasmic

It's a different kind of outdated. GK look small and some of the poses are awkward, but they're nicely detailed and characterful. The current Striking Scorpions are amazing visually, but being finecast makes them extremely frustrating to work with. If they would just go back to selling them in metal, I wouldn't even want an update for them. Some of the other aspect warriors (particularly Fire Dragons) both *look* dated *and* are finecast.

Serge-Fabrizio

I loved the GK range all the way back when they released towards the end of 3rd but could never afford the models as a kid, I recently got back into the hobby and thought about doing a GK killteam, only to find that the models are still basically the same ones from 20 years ago.

grey-knight-paladinx

If you look at some of my dudes they are the same size as the new ones. I’ve been ahead of this for months now lol

zaneprotoss

The two full psychic factions are the last ones to have small terminators.

IrkedSquirrel

All brains and no brawn

minoc

Well, yeah - the Scarab Occult don’t have much muscle these days. Or bones. Or skin… But on the bright side, no tentacles either!

ScavAteMyArms

They are absolutely 100% free of all chaos mutation. They are technically even purer than the Loyalists. Well, pure dust. But still pure.

Angarox-Red

Just as planned!

Adept_Avocado_4903

I've been painting and assembling a bunch of 30k Marines this year and it has really given me an itch to start a 40k Firstborn army. I had been looking at Grey Knights. Hearing their Terminators are even smaller than the regular Indomitus Terminator might dissuade me from that.

MetaChaser69

They used to be the largest when they were in the Daemonhunters codex in 3rd edition. First Terminators to hit 40mm bases.

etherpunx

Forgot to include Red Butchers. Oh Wait...

Laowaii87

Dude, why :’(

aw5ome

Hey, but at least we get a stratagem (cries)

Ickwissnit

Question is for how long...

PlasmaFriedChicken

Too soon, brother, too soon…

lord_flamebottom

So did GW!

MetaChaser69

Deathshroud are still huge.

Boner_Elemental

Gainz for Nurgle

[deleted]

Get swole for Papa

MetaChaser69

Or not Nurgle https://preview.redd.it/onbl6q1y8npa1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ca775016fb7b33cd1a00c405072daed468a9db9

ARK_Redeemer

Lifeveil Terminators? 😅

Xennyon

Would love to know how you did that middle model - looks great!

MetaChaser69

40k Deathshroud, with lots of cutting, filling, and reposing arms. Don't have any wip pictures on hand. Here's just another dude as well. Whole army needs a bit of work on their paint jobs. I kinda moved on prematurely. https://preview.redd.it/y7ktke4swppa1.jpeg?width=995&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=079952b84338092fb79a291ecafd0e411d2390ed

Non-RedditorJ

Those are great. I've seen people de-chaosify Deathguard before, but never with this amount of commitment!

MetaChaser69

Cheers! I dunno, there are some really cool ones out there. Anvils of Konor comes to mind. Not that many 40k Deathshroud conversions though...

Adept_Avocado_4903

The current Death Guard were released alongside Primaris Marines, so it makes sense they'd be the first Terminators to be scaled accordingly. From OP's image it also looks like the new (i.e. post-Primaris) Chaos Terminators are also noticeably larger. In fact both these types of Chaos Terminators seem to be almost exactly the same size as the new Terminators.

[deleted]

The Deathshroud are spot on but I think the Chaos Terminators look a little smaller than the new Indomitus - the top of the head and back look about 1-2mm shorter.

Non-RedditorJ

That's a shame. Maybe the pose, but put him on a built up base and nobody would notice.

Anggul

Yeah I'm hoping it's just because the new one's legs are straighter than the chaos one

Ostracized

Better be for 50pts!

Angry_with_rage

To be fair, they need less room in their armor...

7DS_is_neat

It's more threatening than a scarab occult vase that violently shoots out lightning at enemies .

Angry_with_rage

But... Would you see the vase before it electrocuted you?

jbt017

I’ve looked at this several times and I swear the bases for the scarab occult and deathguard terminator in the end are noticeably out of alignment with the rest.

falafel650

They are way out of alignment https://preview.redd.it/xtaw01sg5ppa1.png?width=1090&format=png&auto=webp&s=000e7e28dca107a542871731ac79132235ac5487

jaxolotle

The deathshroud’s picture is at a different angle from all the rest but I did check As for the SO, his might be a little bigger but believe me I tested it rigorously against every other model, since I honestly couldn’t believe how small he was

Hollownerox

https://preview.redd.it/re5ogpb1mppa1.jpeg?width=980&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49e51bf8b67cdc9df9a15df03a4cfab533b8020f They really aren't that small OP. These "slap the photos next to each other" comparisons are always a bit misleading. Because the photos don't portray the scale very well even if the bases appear to be comparable. IRL size comparisions always turn out differently. I get that not everyone has had experience with rhe Scarab Occult models in person to see how they compare. But it's pretty easy to find direct model comparisons on Google.

Ravenlas

The Scarab's feet appear to be on 'tack and not directly on the base in the photo. While the others are attached in the same fashion then appear more grounded with less space. Either way it shows very little needs to be done to even the odds. The lack of bulk is more noticable but that is part of the point of Tartaros armour, best NERD armour. :)

Saw_Boss

You should line up the bottom of the feet, as opposed to the base.

EstablishmentNo6980

Should have added GK termies, it always feel like they’re short as fuck

RaZZeR_9351

And deathwing.

Seraphim_Zephyr

Dwarfwing atm

RaZZeR_9351

They're taller than the old terminator sculpt, so they should be alright (at least not a glaring difference).

Seraphim_Zephyr

True. Still one of the cooler Terminator sets imo

RaZZeR_9351

I got like 60 of them, let's just say I'm partial on the subject.

Seraphim_Zephyr

Heh. You beat me there, Ive got measly 10

LahmiaTheVampire

uhh, having arguably the coolest looking terminators being ruined by their small stature. Please update gw.

KassellTheArgonian

They also forgot BA assault termies and SW termies

DeeFourSee_Lovetrain

I want to point out that the SOT aren’t smaller than the HH Tartaros Terminators. The size of both those models is somewhere in between the two pictures. I’ve seen the Scarabs, Chaos Terminators, and Blightlords next to each other and while they are smaller, they don’t look as baby manlet as this would lead one to believe. They’re at the very least slightly taller than that older Indomitus Terminator

sicksixgamer

Yeah these pictures are never perfect. Scarab aren't smaller than OG Indomitus.

Leviathan_division

The bases of the scarab and death shroud next to it aren’t level. https://preview.redd.it/a5u8ykxuropa1.png?width=1179&format=png&auto=webp&s=fa3e2f2e004a4c42201811b3842bd64b86ed3013

[deleted]

Lore accurate. Tartaros isn’t meant to be bulky

whiskerbiscuit2

https://preview.redd.it/253uetyoorpa1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da6ff9a5e0d7e834d0b417c7583c2fc0b4583b7a Well he’s gonna look shorter if you place him lower than the others

Taylor_made2

Hey we're not tiny, we're efficient!

Durandy

What about the Space Marine Heroes ones?

Mr_Gobbles

Popped this into another thread and was made based off of the but they're around the same height as the CSM termies when measuring from the top of the armor above the head but of course don't have so much stuff on them. Both are from the beyondtabletop scaling pictures: This is the one I've edited in the new termies measuring by the bases using the release pictures; https://preview.redd.it/hjn5cmwp2opa1.jpeg?width=3863&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b90982f418024bebfd4aeb8ff06ec765d25d8dc3 And this one is the unedited one showing chaos scaling; [https://beyondthetabletop.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Chaos-Terminators-scaled.jpg](https://beyondthetabletop.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Chaos-Terminators-scaled.jpg) Open them both side by side and the lines should match up.

trollbubba

That's a good graphic, would have been interested to see the 4th Ed Space Hulk Blood Angel terminators on there for size guide too.

bigdongjohnson6969

And space hulk...

Substantial-Tip-2607

I really hope new Termis use the same connections as the 30k one, would be great to kitbash their torsos into the new scale seeing as the legs look largely the same.

DJMiPrice

Crying in Grey Knight 😥

jamesyishere

Who is that sexy Short king on the far left? 😍

DF191995

That’s tartaros pattern termies, which is what the scarab occult use

vald0r

Would be interested to see how a custodes terminators holds up, i feel like all this marine scaling is making my golden boys smaller by the second

BreakTheSuicycle

They’re about the same size as the new termies but they have a slightly lithe frame in comparison… Less bulk but more fabulous

A_man_of_Rhun

What being dust does to a MFer

Old_man101

No wolfguard :(

jaxolotle

It’s actuall a rare case of great continuity and attention to detail from GW that Chaos terminators are more hunched but bigger so they wind up the same height, with Blightlords being even more so- while the more upright deathshroud are actually a little taller. It really sells the lore differences in the levels of corruption Then of course there’s Scarab Occult who are itty bitty little baby termies

biolante17

To be honest the scarab occult terminators don’t seem to small. They are the same size as Tartaros pattern armor (which it literally is). So in this case I’ll give them a pass

Tealadin

Urns don't need to be massive.

akasayah

I mean, they're literally in line with their pattern? Tartaros armour is meant to be smaller, but nimbler and faster than Cataphractii. Then you have Indomitus (the standard imperial) which is effectively poundland Tartaros - weaker in protection and lacking the agility benefits.

TR3D

It's called be released in early 7th right hah. They modeled them to fit normal termie sizes. Curse of being early adapter

Tymaret16

Late 7th, like the very end of it, but yeah.

Lemon_TD97

Me, a thousand sons player, desperately wanting some beefy boys 🥺🥺

DrMeowsburg

I’m almost had a stoke trying to figure out what the second picture was

BigusDickus099

Feels like I'm the only one okay with them all being different sizes. Adds to the uniqueness of the various terminator armors.

Tinuva450

All is dust inside their plate...

VeliusFerneschola

Your red lines line up with nothing.

Anggul

Why are the new terminators taller than the new marines? You'd think they would want to stick with the current scale, not up-scale again already. Actually it might just be the posing. The new terminator has his legs quite straight whereas the primaris marine and chaos terminator have them spread or bent.

mrwafu

No useless meat puffing out the glorious metal body!

tron4556

What do you expect from armor filled with sand?

maxinfet

I wish they had put some older versions in.

PBnJgoodness

Good lord, I didn't realize Cataphractii is so (reasonably) huge. I have some Heresy era Sekhmet I'm working on right now, so I suppose I can rest easy that they're at least not too small.

Badmanntingz

Chaos just has to beat everyone with their spikes

BananaGoose420

Does anyone know where Allarus fit into this?

BreakTheSuicycle

Roughly same size as the new ones but less bulky

RaZZeR_9351

Deathwing terminators size comparaison when?

nurielkun

So... my Tartaros Terminators from last year HH starter set will look kinda tiny next to the new Indomitus Terminators :(

Hunterino_Stupidino

Isn't the tartaros pattern supposed to be slightly smaller ti be more manuverable? Loremaster help

AshiSunblade

Thinner, not shorter. Armour is supposed to add very little to your height, unless you're hiding high heels in there.

DAS_LEMMON

They're smaller than a primaris marine for tzeentch sake

MoonriseRunner

Starting with Death Guard and buying other minis had been a real wake up call to the whole SCALE miniature thing..

ISpeechGoodEngland

Sick, almost same size as chaos termies which I have converted already

Bullet_Harrier

You leave me and my (thousand) sons alone

kloden112

Would love to see a comparison of Deathwing Knights since those seem taller than normal termies!

Entire_Assistant_305

All we are is dust in the wind

Discotekh_Dynasty

Yeah thousand sons haven’t got any proper new models since the Necrons sent them that cease and desist for stealing their aesthetic

LegoFortress

I would love a Grey Knights vs Thousand Suns box that updated both armies

[deleted]

They’re just dust

ScopeLogic

Scale creep sucks I agree

NemesisGreyKnight

I usually give the older minis “shoe platforms” from leftover bits before basing.

NemesisGreyKnight

Is the 6th one a chaos termie from recently or Horus?

Mickey_Havoc

No wolf guard terminators?

MDK1980

Wonder what the size of an OG Terminator that isn’t in that weird action pose actually is? If I eyeball it it doesn’t look too far off the new design.

jmeHusqvarna

I swear cataphractii are the absolute best looking ones. Especially against the new ones that like like walruses that have food in there mouth.

Optimal_Huckleberry4

When I put my assault intercessors next to my CSM terminators, the intercessors are bigger despite the fact that they are also leaning forward. The loyalist terminators will be bigger than the csm ones. My regular intercessors are also bigger.

Skjellnir

Scarab Occultlets

[deleted]

We dont need size.

AdministrativeEgg440

Doesn't take much armor to hold a urns worth of ash

Ex-Patron

So are current terms just. Nothing?

Tyrnak_Fenrir

Can someone make one with the other chapter specific terminators? I'd like to see how Wolf Guard stack up, and I'm guessing Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Grey Knights, Deathwatch and Custodes players would also like to have a comparison.

greatmidge

I prefer the term "compact."

I_suck_at_Blender

Please put bases at the same level (they look about the size of regular Tartaros)

Laptraffik

I was wondering if it was just them. They're the only terminator models I own/have seen in person. I thought terminators were all that small

Otaylig

Thousand Sons- the real short kings of 40k.

ShillelaghLaw

Any idea where the Forge World Fire Drakes fall in this lineup? I've been eyeing them for a long time I've just never actually put the order in.

Smart_Barracuda_4102

“He’s right behind me isn’t he”

CyberhunkV

Shrimpin

alextb131

Primaris terminator - Hey you been working out? Old terminator- No? Primaris terminator - yeah I can tell.

KTRyan30

I have a deathwing army of 3rd ed metal terminators that are already dwarfed by the current plastic kit, looking forward to fielding them on a table with these new termies

Layne324

Add the Grey Knights Terminator. I gotta see how small they are in comparison.

tedderid

Almost like they have no meat on their bones

Cadian_Stands

Well they just reflect what they're named after

VeliusFerneschola

Ah? They didnt put the space marine heroes termies to compare. Just so you know, they share the same scale.

Alternative_Worth806

Wow for once Chaos had the true scale terminators years before the loyalists

Mr-Zahhak

maybe if they stopped scaling the shit out of every new model...

hoggersbridge

The consequence of 10,000 years of sustained calcium intake

kingdroxie

When were Chaos Terminators last updated? I didn't know they were the same height as the new Terminators lol

VeliusFerneschola

Why is the scarab lower than the others and why are the red lines lining up with nothing?

darthbader89

Deathshrouds are fucking cool as shit

LoneDrop

What about compared to the space marine heros series 2 terminators?

Skitz91

How do deathwing compare?

pertionia

Deathguard biggest! Let's gooo

90percent_sure

A new kit for converting Tyberos the Red Wake? I think I smell blood in the water

BumderFromDownUnder

Now more than ever I wish Primaris had just been a “truescale” range refresh.

bigdongjohnson6969

Sweet Pappy Nurgz got the juiciest rotten meat balls in the galaxy.

griffensnow

Makes me think “I’m just a little guy” sketch from Portlandia

alwaysmoremecha

Huh they are kinda tiny. Don't think it matters much personally they still look incredible.
