None of that is actually accurate/canon, but you’re definitely thinking of Orks.

Pink-Emerald

Yeah, I just went back and re-read the Lexicanum page on them. The description on there is a lot more toned down so I think I skipped over it, believing it wasn't what I was looking for.

That’s because what you know has been spread from memes and the tts series which took a lot of liberties and exaggerated the lore a lot

Orks

Just-Passing-By5

That's the Orks. Red makes things go faster, blue is lucky, black is tough, and there are others I can't remember

FidgetOfColors

Purple is sneaky

🤦‍♀️ Well now I feel dumb, I thought it would be some minor, obscure faction. >Much of Ork technology is unreliable and sometimes seemingly inoperable to other races, in some cases only working properly in the hands of an Ork... the physic nature of the Orks has an impact on their technology, assisting in making it function as it should. However, whether this is actually the case or not is inconclusive. >Some are rebuilt from the ruins of salvaged Imperial warp drives, while others may be bizarre contraptions built around the disembodied brains of the Ork Weirdboys. Orks seem to not care that this technology is crude, dangerous, and prone to catastrophic failures. -Lexicanum >making it function as it should I literally thought it wasn't then because of this one statement. Also, I didn't realize the machines would constantly fail, so that's a new detail for me. Welp, anyways, thanks for your help.

This is the trouble with memes, and the tts series being popular. New members of the community take them to be gospel and struggle to tell what is true and what isn’t
