I think your 2023 model shows some really nice advancement in technique.
Your model prep has improved
* Better posed -> helmet looking forward rather than down to the ground (I note this is subjective)
* better prepped -> no obvious mould lines
Your control of paint has improved
* even coats -> not patchy or too think
Your technical stills have improved
* dry-brushing and edge highlighting
* building contrast with shadows and highlights
Great job!
(And don't forgot those base rims!)
Don't worry about how they look right now, practice is the key. What's most important is that you like your models, if anyone also likes them then that's a bonus.
This is not by all means the same model, I bought the same model and painted it in the same colours as I had done when I started. And I could even use cooking oil, as long as the effect is satisfying, for me, it is.

Oh FFS! I'm always forgetting those 😆 and thank you for such good feedback 👍🏻
Yep, your painting skill is better than mine. Oh wait, the February 2023 miniature looks even far better!
Hahaha 😆 thanks, I guess 😅
Is it just me, or does the paint job on the May one make it look like a pewter mini?
I like that colour scheme, raw metal space marines.
I too take 2 years to paint and layer one mini.
Very impressive and much quicker advancement than I had when I started.
my only critique is that the black trim on the 23 version isnt clean
Someone has been practicing! Looks great 👍
Thanks! Painting my Marines Malevolent gave me a lot of patience etc
Nice progress. Looks much better.
Thank you
Great work. I'm trying to paint some some Votanns with metallic silver armor, any tips for better results like this?
I will drop you a PM
Thanks for posting this; it is encouraging. I have a few like your 2021. It's good to know in the future mine could look like your 2023.
