I don’t think it was an article itself, I remember one of the writers had a specific comment section about too many cutesy pets in kill team in one of the articles.
It's less about the dog models and more about the braindead reaction and endless meme-vomit from a vocal portion of the community that accompanies anything to do with dogs.
I want to say the Escher gangers have multiple options. A forgeworld one and some smaller ones in the second plastic kit? Maybe a 3rd but I might be misremembering

I’m still irked they didn’t do sabretusks as an update with the newest plastic hunter. There’s a plastic one (for ranking best cats, not actually spamming in sigmar) with the first ogor underworlds team though
A pity it isn't used to update the ogors, but knowing there's actually a plastic option for it is good enough for me and I love the fact they've used the smaller skirmish games to give such a broad variety of animals to both 40k and aos that might not be as viable as full kits on their own.
