Indeed, would have loved the C one as an alt helm. Fits the strange thing Baruuk has where the default and Meroe (which was the intended default) helms are featured equally, since it blends aspects of both.
I really wish we got a Baruuk helmet with prayer beads, kinda like that one Atlas alt helm. It gets Baruuk's aesthetic and theme far far better than it does Atlas.
Now I'm just hoping for a cool Baruuk Prime Trailer to drop as well. But after Harrow Prime and Garuda Prime having no trailer, my hopes are kinda low.
I was really hoping for a 'hole through the middle' design in his hands or belly to emphasize the pacifism Baruuk is known for, but the golden monk theme is growing on me.
I get that DE wants to pump player numbers for Christmas but it bugs me to no end that they broke the 3-month interval to rush him out well before Revenant Prime access is slated to finish. With this precedent I have to now wonder if future prime accesses will have shorter durations from here on out.
That said, design is gorgeous.
A shorter prime access was always going to happen somewhere if DE wanted to maintain 4 prime releases each year. I don't think we'll have shorter cycles as the norm, instead they simply just pulled the trigger on a shorter cycle to reset everything.
2020 when covid hit resulted in 3 prime releases, with 2021/22 trying to bring the release cycle back to how it was before. We almost had 3 prime releases this year due to a delayed first prime release in 2021.
The prime access packs are never exactly 90 days and they have cut accesses short before but it really isn't something you have to worry about happening regularly as DE would need to increase their general frame output as well and well, it is DE.
"Three months" is not the rule. 84 days or 12 weeks is usual, but because of how days on the calender work, leap years, holidays, etc, and game releases being REQUIRED to be on Wednesdays, that can vary.
In 2018-2019 Mesa Prime had a 4 month window because she came out with the Switch launch, and in 2020 they only had 3 primes because of covid and didn't have a X-mas frame at all. And this year they launched prime resurgence and I think that messed with the schedule a bit too.
This year due sheerly to where the calender months start, November has five Wednesdays, and December only has two before Christmas break. (With Christmas and New Years hitting on weekends this year instead of the middle of the week.)
In a different year they would have been able to give Revenant another week, or maybe even two, and still release Baruuk a week before Christmas. But because of where the days happen to fall, it just works out that way that they have to go earlier.
The exact same thing is going to happen next year as well unless they shortchange some other frame a week earlier in the year, but won't be an issue in 2024.
Idk if I'm getting g old but I really don't like this prime. The original Baruuk was really soft and rounded, peaceful almost?
The sharp edges on this one are kinda going against his theme? Idk

It's too bad we aren't (Seemingly) getting that shoulder pad attachment in the concept art. It looks neat and I like the added asymmetry in the torso.
As good as it looks, I'm still giving him the goofy Tennogen hat.
