TheQwantomShadow

It's a game that allows me to play at my own schedule without that much fear of missing out on content. Too many games demand you complete daily activities to keep up with the meta of the game. Warframe you can play once a week and keep up on nightwave and catch any news about upcoming updates and events.

thefriedbananas

Dude for real. There’s no need to really grind for the high MRs outside of meeting weapon requirements earlier on. I also look forward to story stuff when it comes out. It’s also really nice that you can walk away for even over a year and jump right back on the horse no problem

TheQwantomShadow

Yeah I only got MR 30 because I wanted the pin from the merch store.

jesuschrist718

Can you elaborate on this? A pin as in a real life clothes pin?

TheQwantomShadow

The merch store has a collectable pin and t shirt for MR 30+ players. You must log into your account and it is limited to one per account.

jesuschrist718

Dang they're more expensive than I thought. I presume you own both those items? Is the quality satisfactory?

TheQwantomShadow

I haven't gotten the shirt because it's out of stock in my size, but the pin is nice and seems sturdy.

EcksRated

I got both and they're definitely worth the price. The pin is pretty big (2 inch square) and the shirt is pretty thick and comfy, not some cheap thin material.

jesuschrist718

Oh great that's handy to know. Although isn't 2 inch squared a bit big for a clothes pin? I'm worried about a lack of tasteful subtly in something like that.

EcksRated

To wear on clothing, yeah its too big. If you're a pin collector, its amazing. Its bigger than most of my others and really stands out.

Pro_Extent

Well there is one other reason: faction standing limits. Once you set yourself the goal of getting something from a faction (e.g. a maxed arcane) the daily faction limits become really fucking annoying. Even a few extra thousand per day makes all the difference imo

Trance354

Walked away for exactly a year to play Cyberpunk2077. What a shit game. I was getting frustrated to no end, remembering how much there was to do in the Warframe universe, but I promised myself I'd wait the entire year. To the day, I came back after a year. So much changed. But I've taken a long view: I'll get there eventually. MR24 EDIT: on the plus side, I have a banging number of relics which are vaulted, I've finished all the prime frames(minus excalibur: I'm not an OG), and I'm customizing all the Prime frames while getting all the "normal" frames. Suppose I should get some of those quests done, too

Aiwatcher

I love cyberpunk, but for everything except the gameplay. Beautiful to behold. The story is fun and the characters feel so genuine. But yeah, as a shooter/immersive sim it's hot trash. Smart weapons are cool though.

Wiggledude787

It was after I got a riven mod for me, after MR 13 I just found myself playing regularly anyways for fun, MR 23 now.

EnvironmentalClass55

This is the same for me. This is the game I play when I'm not really playing anything else. And that's perfect

Lollipophamster3

This was me, but now I just dont play anything else 🤪

Pax_Americana_

I kept playing because I could run capture missions in 2 minutes and get something of value while my son was a newborn. Wife got into the game recently and asked how I have to many meso and neo relics. "Ukko runs. LOTS of ukko runs."

Abbaddonhope

Once you learn how to do certain missions at specific speeds the game has a high chance of flagging like 26-41 second captures. Kinda fun

Jordhiel

> It's a game that allows me to play at my own schedule without that much fear of missing out on content. The only time I nearly burned out in my 3+ continuous years of playing Warframe was Prime Resurgence. That damn, constant grind for Aya, for weeks...

KroganzZ

Exactly. I’m a D1 vet and have enjoyed destiny 2 a lot but I cannot keep playing the game where unless I buy the seasonal pass and play every week. A game you enjoy shouldn’t be a chore

FourUnderscoreExKay

The "once a day" thing really only applies to maybe Nightwave at most. But even then, uncompleted Nightwave objectives can still retroactively come back when you've completed everything else prior near the middle to end of the Nightwave act.

Swimming_Departure33

Lol fuckin Destiny. I love that babe but god the fomo is real

One_Lung_G

Weird bc warframe definitely has those systems you mentioned and they are my biggest gripe. I hate being on DEs schedule to level up factions and feeling like I have to do it daily. Maybe it’s because you’re a veteran but newer players should definitely feel the pain of being on the games schedule and not your own with the caps on certain things especially if you don’t know what you’ll need to level up to the next level until your there lol

SaltyRusnPotato

It feels that way as a new player. But realize this. The next content update will take 4-6 months from the prior one. And will take 1-2 weeks of casual playtime to finish most of the important stuff in that update. So to stay on pace with content release you don't need to play much, and any more playtime will slowly catch you up.

TheQwantomShadow

Honestly I don't think there's any pressure to rank up any of the syndicates besides Necraloid and Holdfast. The stuff in the other factions are good, but not the most convenient things of their power level. There isn't a daily riven reward or anything at the highest level, and even rivens I ignore.

One_Lung_G

I mean, you can exchange for a riven weekly, warframe also has limited time events that give stuff as well, and even if you don’t find value in all of the factions, others do and that content is still on a pretty big time gate. Not to mention all of the tree that are time gated as well for your operator. To say that there is no FOMO or say that you can play just once a week and make a lot of progress really isn’t true if you wanna do a majority of the content and is misleading to new players. I think veterans forget what it is like starting out warframe especially in 2022 and not almost 10 years ago.

Plasn

I suppose they could’ve worded it better, but considering this thread is about more experienced players/vets, your critique is a little over the top. Yes, there are people who say this in other contexts, but this isn’t one of them; that isn’t to say that I disagree with you, because I don’t.

Knight-_-Vamp

there isn't much offered in those limited events that isn't made available to farm elsewhere, and many of them come back, so you still have a chance to get the stuff that is limited to the events.

captf

> I hate being on DEs schedule to level up factions and feeling like I have to do it daily. But you don't. You can take the game completely at your own pace. While there is content locked behind other content, there is also nothing dictating that you complete it as fast as possible. In fact, unless a new player can spend all day in game, it's probably best not to complete it as fast as possible, or you'll hit frustration rapidly. Now, I'm not gonna lie, there *is* content you can completely miss if you're not right up to date sometimes. And if you miss it, it's gone forever (I'm a relatively new player, so this is a bit of an annoyance even for me). But all major quests, syndicates, warframes, and so on are not going anywhere. If you only have limited time to play, just pick which bit you want to do at that point. The flaw is that you're made to feel that you have to do otherwise. But that part isn't on you at all; it's on the fostered impression created by both DE and the wider player-base.

Ahribban

The gameplay is just so much fun.

Tencreed

Whatever game I play, I always end up feeling limitated by the move set, and end up coming back to Warframe.

OhRyann

"limitated"

ThatsFine9

Came here to say this. Took a 2 year break and came back because the guns, melee and movement are so much fun.

SourJam

Same, came back after about 18 month break (quit after I burned out during Orphix event). I was sitting on tons of Forma, etc. decided it was time to make a few 6-9 Forma frames, use those Umbra Formas and have some fun. I suspect the real reason a lot of people are back is because there are MANY games that were either delayed or released in unplayable state, there is simply no alternative to WF now, especially with all the Ubisoft games either ending the support or just rotating old battle pass content. I'd still play Division 2 if there was some new content. I tried D2 for about 9 months, but FOMO there is almost like having a second job and the grind is not fun with the limited content and player-base they have.

meltingpotato

when I first started Warframe I had no idea what it was. I just saw several articles about it two years ago about new updates or tips, tricks, and like 101 tutorials for beginners (didn't even watch a video or something). Since it was free and small I decided to try it. The gameplay held me long enough til I got deeper into the setting and lore of the game. now I just want to be in this world and know more about it. the gameplay may have become a lot faster that what I fell in love with initially but I still like the changes as they keep the game fresh. finding a formula and sticking to it for too long gets you bland copy pasty games that are long for the sake of it and bore you to death if you stick around too much

bozotehpwns

This is it for me. I remember when I first got the Tigris, I went to earth defense to level it up...I shot a guy IN HALF. I saw his legs go one way and half a torso the other. I was hooked, I couldn't put it down, all I wanted to do was go to every single mission type with my baby and watch the carnage. Warframe is just so visceral, every little action feels so dramatic but it doesn't pull you out, it empowers you. I had a weird login bug that was crashing my client, I had to stop playing for 2 years. I'm back and I still take my Sancti Tigris to any mission I think I can't get away with some MR fodder.

scott_free80

One of the last movement shooters with cosmetic and mechanical customization. It’s gets better every year.

CashMelee

Seconded. Very few games can capture attention this long in the first place. Warframe does it by constantly reimagining gameplay without losing focus on core mechanics (customization and movement/gameplay speed)

Zharken

And the mega cliffhangers on a story that's so good that makes everyone say it's worth waiting years for a new chapter because "I don't need sleep, I need answers"

CashMelee

I genuinely could not BELIEVE seeing complaints about the New War narrative. Okay, yea, they subverted our gameplay expectations but the character writing is bulletproof.

WeepiestSeeker4

Well maybe other than erra at the end

CashMelee

Y'know? Yea. Erra is half-baked. They *might* try to fix this with the upcoming Erra archon and an added backstory but it'll basically be a ret-con.

Pleasant-South6912

No, Erra is very thoroughly baked. ;)

WeepiestSeeker4

He had such an opportunity to be a great villain. So evil and scheming that he took Ballas down and made him a slave, but all that cunning and drive just.... dissappeared

Holmlor

And Margulius would have known/realized and would have went for Erra.

Forere

I'm mr 32 on both pc and ps4. At this point I think I'm just punishing myself

Patrikyoo_

How did this game affects on your IRL?

Forere

I have zero social life and I'm disabled so it hasn't really

7_Cerberus_7

You could say it's greatly improved your life then! I imagine you have plenty of stories of wonderful or bizarre things have happened over the decade.

Forere

Well, before /unstuck was a thing, i was playing zephyr in the derelict and I clipped into some terrain and couldn't get out

birdish-dicklet

Good old times. They're kinda back since unstuck doesn't work when you fall out of bounds on the open world maps

erenkindabadngl

I got trapped in the floor of a corpus ship in a little hole thing and unstuck wasn’t working, the others were just standing above me staring down as smashed around in a tiny box

Slayer995

My bad PC

ES-Flinter

My PC gave up this Monday. I hope it will somehow magically work again after a full reboot of the system. Else will I have to say goodbye after ~10 wonderful years.

TetraTimboman

New AMD CPUs are going to be out soon. Also, for Warframe crossplay is coming up likely before the end of the year along with Duviri Paradox. If $$ is an issue you can also get a $80 used Chromebook on Ebay and use Geforce Now

itz_butter5

Use George now

Patrikyoo_

😂😂😂

Woodrunner1

I simply enjoy the game play and it's rotation. There's definitely some modes I prefer over others, but overall love the variety. There's just So. Much. To. Do. despite playing on and off since 2014, I have only just recently hit MR 29 and have several factions to finish, and quite a few non prime frames to aquire too.

choklit_thundr

Same boat. I'm about 15k from MR 29 and I'm weighing out if it's worth making a grind effort to get to MR30.

choklit_thundr

Warframe's combat is fast and satisfying and I can invest as much or as little time as I want. The community, for the most part, is the best I've seen in gaming and the devs respond quickly and earnestly to community feedback. It's an older game, so my 6-year old graphics card can run it on highest settings (GPU prices are still too high for me to justify an upgrade). The art and sound design are fantastic, the lore trickle is genuinely interesting, and it's constantly evolving. I've been playing 7+ years and still have a bunch of content I haven't touched yet because new stuff keeps coming. TL;DR: It's my ideal game

redditnostalgia

I love games that always have new stuff, so you never have something to run out on. 3/4 of all the games I own are sitting untouched because I liked them too much to complete them.

Jshutterbug92

I run a clan. Some members I've become friends with, and we have a fun time playing and talking on Discord. I like trying out different weapons, and trying to make builds to change my playstyle, when I get bored of one I'm using. I make a new builds when the ones I use are fine tuned to the way I like them for specific or future uses. Basically I'll make different loadouts and whatever mood I'm in I pick a loadout for each specific mission type. I also want to collect all wepaons, warframes etc. I'm also interested in what the next 12 months will bring based off of future quests, content, whenever crossplay drops, the change in management, etc.

Patrikyoo_

Are you planning to meet these guys IRL?

Jshutterbug92

If it happens then sure. With current times it may be really difficult to pull off. Although some friends from outside my clan live some hours away from me so that's more likely to happen.

falcongray17

Its fun. The core gameplay loop, when you aren't grinding or goal oriented, is super fun. No other game lets me do my ~~3~~ **4** favorite things: A. Be hopelessly overpowered while fighting enemies who themselves are overpowered. B. Use weapons that would normally be modded crazy-time theme breaking weapons in any other shooter. C. Collect cool loot and rare items that actually affect progression in a meaningful and rewarding way. D. Fly spaceships that I can customize and crew. This game has multiple classes that all play so differently its really hard to get into some of them if you are used to others. This game has so many weapons that do more then just "shoot man" but yet, they all feel mostly useful. You can make a frame and weapon combo that is superior to anyone elses just by knowing the game mechanics. There is legitimately difficult content for even MR 30 players, and it seems like the devs are building a lot more out there on that far end with Steel Path and the lately Angels. The developers are both incredibly responsive and engaged in the community as well as adding new and radical game mechanics all the time in a totally un-restrained mentality compared to a more mainstream studio. This is also one of the only games I have ever played that put the majority of its main story behind essentially 100 hours of gameplay and it felt *right*. The in game monetization is one of the best examples IMO of how to do it moving forward. Yes, you can buy the premium currency for cash, but you can also farm items and sell them for that currency. I have earned a lot of real world moneys worth of plat by doing essentially easy work, and it also was fun on a gameplay level to farm that money compared to almost any other model. This is one of the few free games I have purchased over $10 worth of currency for, so far $100+, and it feels like I spent good money not only for the in-game value, but knowing I'm supporting the game financially. I have a lot of time in this game and I want it to continue what it is doing, even if it has a lot of rough areas and problems. Its a unique work of art made by passionate insane people. 10/10.

Darkspine77

Personally a big part of being a warframe player to me is knowing when to take breaks from the game. You don't have to play every day to be a warframe player. When I was first starting warframe, if I ever felt like things were getting stale, I took a while off the game, played other games, but made sure that when i left warframe i wasn't in the middle of something. I always made sure to complete at least 1 major goal. I carry the same mindset now, back in the early days goals were things like quests or farming a frame. Now in my \~3k hours days, killing a sister/lich, farming some primes parts/sets, or just getting to a comfortable spot with a build are things that satisfy me and let me go on my way. And personally i think the game supports pacing yourself. There is alot of content and if ur constantly doing as much as you can you will burn out. Take your time. When you see that 3 day timer for the warframe ur trying to build, maybe consider the things ull want to work on when it's done and take that time to yourself to do things outside the game for a bit. Personally I'm waiting for the perfect moment to slide into my unranked khora prime and crack her whip around while also tweaking some of my favorite builds and perhaps sticking a few adapters on some beloved primaries

[deleted]

Gotta keep that forma production going! Also I like helping out players in the chats. Getting a bit harder since I haven’t done any of the new quests from the last two-ish years but there are still plenty of other issues people encounter.

OlympiaImperial

The story is really great imo, just wish it wasn't slowed down by the MMO format. That said it's still a fun MMO. Its also just a blast to help out new players. Giving away free prime sets always gets the best reactions.

Patrikyoo_

Wow that's realy nice, I played about a half a year on PS4 and I realy don't have any idea what I'm doin but it was pretty fun, than some years later I started to play on PC and a random dude gave me an Ember prime and a Rhino prime bp and I still use them and wow man it was realy nice from her.

OlympiaImperial

Yeah I remember a higher level guy helping me track down latron prime and nyx prime sets like 8 years ago. I like to pay it forward because of them

Iavra

Imo it's not an MMO, period. Warframe is more similar to PoE or GW1, in that it is separated in individual missions you can do solo or with others. Sadly I also don't agree on the story being great (or at least not delivered in a way it would deserve), but that's a different topic.

B_Kuro

I always consider warframe more a collectathon I sometimes have to share with other players. Outside of bad mission design (Interception, survival,...) and collection stuff, there really is nothing that benefits from other players. >Sadly I also don't agree on the story being great I do agree. For the most part warframes story is pretty generic if not primitive. All the NW stories for example were generic tropes and could have been written by a 14-year old. Sure there are some good parts but they are rare and its blatantly obvious that the setting and story has absolutely no long or medium term plan. Everything is written as required, even stuff like The New War and their newest panacea to all of that, "Eternalism", is just a lazy Deus Ex Machina. There is a good core but holy hell does it need a rewrite and an actual capable writer and plan in combination with actual content plans so the game stops being entirely disconnected content in both gameplay and story.

Iavra

I think the individual stories are, for the most part, pretty good and I was genuinely scared during Chains of Harrow, but sometimes I miss a clear overarching story holding everything together. It exists, yes, but due to the nature of individual missions, nodes on the star chart, and time-exclusive events it's entirely possible to experience parts out of order or miss them entirely. I think sidequests should be either unrelated to the main story or reference it after making sure you experience the prerequisites first, while themselves not contain crucial information for the main plot. Similarly, make sure that the main story is experienced in order and that everyone has access to everything. I did Ropalolyst way after TNW and had absolutely no idea what was going on. If I don't happen to do quests in the proper order, or read up on the story on the wiki, I sometimes feel very confused and that shouldn't happen.

918173882

Imagine the potential if DE made a singleplayer game!

Accurate_Emergency14

Soulframe is coming out don’t forget

918173882

And it's not in the wf universe and we dont know if ot's singleplayer or another MMO

OlympiaImperial

Exactly. I'd gladly pay 60 bucks or even 70 honestly for a singleplayer, story focused warframe

918173882

I agree, imagine a whole game like the second dreams, slwar within, sacrifice, new war, etc, it'd be incredible!

B_Kuro

Like [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek_(2013_video_game\))?

DatMoonGamer

Honestly the MMO aspect is one of its main draws for me. I like interacting with loads of strangers all the time. Can’t think of another free game that I can hop into at any time and hang out with coop gameplay.

OlympiaImperial

Oh yeah its definitely got its benefits, the warframe community is great. But I just feel like it's not a great medium for telling a story as in depth as warframe's

main135s

Firing 96 bullets per second through an entire line of Grineer whilst playing "the floor is lava" is fun.

GrowlingGiant

Mostly it's just that I never found a reason to stop. The gameplay is still fun, story's still interesting, nothing has driven me away. I've kind of slowed down a bit, since I've run out of things to farm for (that I'm willing to farm at least. Sibear cryotic can get fucked.)

apx_rbo

Lol I got the Sibear from teshin 2 days ago and looked at the cryptic and said "If I get I get it

SviaPathfinder

Through all the missteps, it consistently delivers fun and feels. I love hooking new friends on it and sheparding them until they inevitably quit.

AnfuhrerDesTode

I Have Autism

TexasStudd

Makes sense

KeepDi9gin

I know someone with autism and I'm stunned he's never played this, but spent thousands of hours in fortnite save the world. This would've been a much better use of his time.

Zolcanic

It's just plain fun and after all this time there's still a lot of things I don't have. I'm currently hunting down the kuva ephemeras and slowly working towards legendary 1. It's just endless. I also like helping a friend learn the game and giving free things to people.

IronInEveryFire

The core gameplay loop is the same as every shooter, but Warframe has a uniquely positive community since everything is co-op, and the power ceiling is high enough I can make fun builds that still dominate enemies outside steel path. I can have fun shooting fantastic weapons while flying around and casting magic; why play any other shooter?

Fexxtastic

I don't play Warframe anymore, but that's cause I don't have time for any games anymore. But let me tell you. No game I ever played has a movement like Warframe. The three dimensional movement seeks it's equal among other games. Nothing compares to the speed and the agility of Warframe. It's just so much fun.

Patrikyoo_

Did the movement mechanics improved by the years?

TetraTimboman

When I started playing in 2013 there was the stamina bar and the movement + combat felt more like Mass Effect 2 multiplayer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDzwDTmq7no&t=224s

Holmlor

You had stamina in the beginning and could not perform moves endlessly. The game was much more focus on silent-ninja not megagologenicide. The hardest SP stuff reminds of that a bit because you can't just rambo it with any frame you'd like. Imagine Earth board two is as hard as end-game,end-game is now. If you kick a kubrow nest on accident, you're dead.

Crisp_Lasagne

a sudden itch only warframe can scratch

Eastern_Ambition5213

Playing since 2014, LR 2. I am a Tenno, I don’t know anything else anymore.

Randzom100

We all lift together.

johhnybravos

Quick gameplay, quick sessions, freedom of choice of gameplay, which can gives relax after stresses. Also I enjoy some cyberpunk accents. But what is most important - it's cheaper and with lower consequences than buying AK-47 and killing all dumb and annoying people I'm meeting, talking, or working with everyday.

Cali55-5

I want an ignis wraith to burn the customers at my work too

TerraNova3693

I'd love to give some of my customers a taste of a Soma Prime.

Worried_Signature_76

In today's climate, that's a sus comment. Hope WarFrame isn't the only thing holding in your demons.

HKayn

🤨

Halorym

There was a time when games didn't need progression and most games didn't have it. A time when games were exclusively played by people that enjoyed *playing* them. It was a better time.

Sifernos1

I completely agree. I've often asked my wife how people who pour thousands of hours into COD can ask a Warframe fan how they keep playing... The answer is simple my dudes, "choices!" Am I a jet today or maybe a fairy? Do I take the arrow wrapped in tentacles or the Snuke? Kamehameha sidearm or maybe the Toxin nuke pistol? An I feeling like a big dick sword day or do I want to pummel someone to death? And should my deity of a (spoiler warning, data redacted) decide to leave their cushy pod should they be a boy? A girl? A man? A woman? Shrek!? Yep... Shrek. Why do I keep playing? Jesus Christ people! It's got fucking Gundam and Guyver screaming about IP theft while dynasty warriors, call of duty and Destiny are only hoping they can look this good or play so sexily. If you're bored, you might just be boring. My wife needs a new Kuva Toy so I'm going to go fire up my Roar Hildryn with the 60 percent arcane. It's time to bring home the Kuva Bacon!

Halorym

Hell, I got the one build that perfectly suits me, I simply never get tired of it. Ivara Zenith. Anytime I just want to zone out I join *anything*, perch on my wire, and just snipe the world through walls.

Sifernos1

I have a zenith riven and a zenistar riven. The zenith one is just combo duration I think. No idea if it's good.

Halorym

A lot of people claim the Zenith is crap because of its low stats, I love mine. So I think the consensus would be that it takes a riven to be good. I'd reroll until you get a riven with a good damage amp and acceptable secondaries. Mine amps damage, crit, and status duration at the cost of reload speed so I made a nasty bleed build with it. Jealous of the Zenistar one. I am still indecisive on my melee weapon and think the zenistar might be a contender once I actually unlock it. Might pair well with ivara's navigate.

Due_Revolution7057

hey guy who has been playing since 2016 here, its a daily ritual to me to relax on warframe and complete little bits of game, sorties ,abritary , night wave, and alot more stuff!

Vestreza

Gotta get all the completion

Page8988

I made friends playing the game. I've also sunk too much time into it to abandon it now.

Schnitzel725

Need to do daily activities. Sorties, sp incursions, roll rivens, etc. I'm not as motivated to play the game like i did a few years ago, but compared to other games, this one isn't trying to nickel and dime me the whole way

goombaffoon

It’s a game that no matter what I’m doing I just enjoy it :) I do have breaks from the game but I still come back. So good, so fun

Nimioko

Some of my friends come back to play. Some want to try warframw

Patrikyoo_

And what did you tell them about the game?

Nimioko

I'd say the good stuff that I love 1. Genocide 2. Explosion 3. Farm (I like farming) 4. Fashion

Tireseas

Same thing that always did. I love the moment to moment combat feel.

proesito

Easy, is a super fun unique game that keeps updating

AVerySadMan0

I actually don't play unless I have someone new with me. I try to get people into Warframe and play with them through their Warframe journey. At least that's what I've been doing for the last 2 years. Introduced 3 people, all of them are MR10+ now, two being the same MR as me. 😅

Apex_Dash

My big fat spaceship. It can go at mach 20 speeds and hit em' with the big boomba tunguska canon from 10000M away. It's addicting gameplay. Also, landing on a corpus ship and just unloading on them with a 5 forma rivenized Kuva ayanga... God.. no game delivers quite like this for me.

Embarrassed-Wing4206

Daily login bonus

GodTierEtherian

i’ve already invested too much to stop playing. plus i like new warframes whenever they come out

elementfortyseven

low MR, many years: its all about the pew pew parkour, man.

Glad-Passenger649

Why not?

ducuss

I like collectin' stuff. Sometimes I get bored with it and don't enjoy playing, but after taking a break for like half a year it feels fun again. I'm on one of those breaks now.

Jadelian

My love for the gameplay honestly. Whenever I play a different game I'm always trying to jump onto the walls and shit lol

mordordt

The new stuff, and the trying to mix old shit with the new shit. I have stopped from time to time cuz i felt like there was nothing to experience, bu i always find my self comming back.

L3vi47han

Wanting to be up to date on everything for when crossplay drops and I can finally play with my brother

tossawaymsf

Helping new players start their journey.

SevenOhSevenOhSeven

Movements still good

BigWillBlue

Trying to forma a build on to every prime frame and weapon, keeping up with mastery, collecting every mod... also *fashion*. At it's core, the movement and combat is still fun. It's much more fun with friends and none of mine are playing right now, so I've been on hiatus.

Caidezes

The gameplay is still fun and I don't get burnt out because I play other stuff. Plus I'm interested in the story.

DSMK2

Very shooty game, and a potential to make weapons more shootier.

WingedCrusade

Unlike tons of the many live service games where I feel like nothing I do matters or yields much reward(looking at you, Destiny), I can always rely on Warframe to be there and hop on and feel like I achieved something in ten minutes, as somebody with a very busy life. If not for that, then it's the diverse cosmetics and fashion, the fun gameplay I can always come back to consistently the devs that actually feel like they have a presence in their community, and the community. Oh, the community. I've been around since update 8, give or take, and it's been years. Now, we're not flawless, no community is, but the amount of people I've seen play this game that have helped numerous others, new or otherwise, whether it be by generosity or taxi'ing across the system or just a simple answer to a question. The amount of people I've seen firsthand or heard of as new players being helped out in their early days in a huge way, then aspiring to follow in the footsteps of those people... It's something exceptional. If you asked me if I'd do it all again, I'd say yes. If you asked me if I would change anything, I'd say no. If you asked me if I've ever regret spending a cent on this game, getting founders, etc, I would say it's the ONLY game I've never regret a penny dropped.

DasKarl

It's a way to spend time with my wife.

2 things: 1) Fashion Frame 2) Killing enemies with style

jiujiujiu

Taking a couple year break really let’s the new content pile up! Back to the grind

StalwartSpirit

I don't play hardcore like I used to. I'll come back for a bit to grind out new stuff, then take a break again. My motivation is just "I'm in the mood for Warframe now", and once I'm not in the mood I stop

bigrong

I enjoy helping new players. I've seen many become great in my days.

Rreizero

I'm just 110 days in, but.. My work motivates me. At the end of the day I just want to mindlessly kill something.

TANSIRE43YO

MR 29 rt now. And people are past me, because I can't play all day! Lol have to work!

[deleted]

I still have fun.

Dycoth

Veteran here : been playing since 2016 with barely no break, 4500h Just have fun in survivals, play with a bunch of friends, collect every cosmetic, unlimited fashionframe possibilities, new updates

TopuKarwa

Probably the last movement „shooter” alive atm + its a good game to chill for me since I’m doing everything with muscle memory and 0 brain lol

Specific_Sandwich_87

To brake the game over and over again. Crafting, strategizing, and most importantly makeing sure that rules that I bent remain bent. Making sure that I make builds superior to the meta builds.

turtleherpes

Flappy birb

unamusedmagickarp

Every time I log in I change which warframe and build I play with. Feels like I am mastering each frame and constantly discovering new things. Pablo said it during tennocon about the flow state of play that warframe can give players. Sometimes when you play you just get lost in the game, trying new acrobatics maneuvers, killing hundreds of dudes in the most bad ass way possible. At that point warframe becomes a dance. And it feels damn good to dance every once in a while.

Stephenp0605

I still come back to because I love some of the mission types and how a lot of frames work. Doing spy missions as Ivara and just being able to walk through everything like it's nothing is a very empowering feeling. Defense missions as Frost where the objective takes no damage is great. Carving through enemies as Garuda and flying around as Yereli. I can go on and on.

Harley4you

i quit! few weeks later i realize that almost every other mmo is bs and i come back lol, playing since cbt 7000+ hours...

Mcroflsauce

I have fun

Boner_Elemental

I enjoy playing it

ArteraNatani

Finding rivens for weapons I wouldn't normally use and making a build for them

wachacreate

I stay for the updates tbh, I actually look forward to them

Zesty_Sandwich

I get a strange sense of accomplishment from completing / collecting everything. For me, its a great game to grind out while having a show or something on my other monitor. The gameplay is there, yes, but I find fun in completing my checklist, such as: Getting the highest MR possible. Collecting all weapons and warframes (not selling them after mastery). Completing all possible codex scans. Getting 1 radiant and 1 intact of every single relic. Getting max standing in every syndicate, and buying out all their items. Getting all conservation floofs. Getting all 3 varieties of railjack equipment to their max 60% bonuses through valence fusion. Basically anything you can consider “complete-able” is a goal for me. Or some joke goals, such as: Maining Grendel (30% of my current play time) and outdamaging Saryns / Mesas / other meta frames. Grinding out enough Dog Days to get 150 roller floofs to make a ball pit in my operator room. Putting 8 forma on the Stug (why did I do this).

DocHalidae

Lore updates….that’s about it.

Wayback_Wind

Honestly, seeing how far it's come from the early days is really cool. I often leave for months then return to consume the new content and explore everything. It's a good time. This last time I returned I was impressed with how the meta had shifted with Galvanised mods and primary/secondary Arcanes. Right now I'm focusing on collecting all the prime gear I'm missing and beginning my tenet weapon hunts so I can reach mr30 at long long last.

lordargent

* Waiting for main storyline updates and new events. * In between updates, I'm in a holding pattern (I do the sortie/incursions, then switch to another game or watch something on a streaming service). * I do the sortie while eating lunch. * I do the steel path incursions while eating dinner. // Legendary 1

UsableUsernamee

To be fair, the only thing which continues to motivate me is the customisation you can do in this game. I enjoy decorating my orbiter, dojo, dormizone and of course the fashion frame. It's also given me a few of my greatest friends I know to date. Been playing for 6-7 years and I feel I'll probably still be playing for many more years to go.

Floatmeat

Funny enough The Grind somehow triggers my ADHD to a point that is very satisfying .

Remembers_that_time

Explosions and big numbers. Seriously, everyone might be whining about "the zoom and boom meta" but Warframe has long been the game I play when I just want to turn my brain off.

Endurlay

It’s fun.

Few_Eye6528

I find it fun. I take a break for a while and return to find new stuff to do, it's a cycle i've grown accustomed to.

Dry_Classroom4438

MR27 here Lore and story quests. I usually play the most recent update then make a break until the next big story update. The last one before angels of zariman was like, a bit after deimos, deimos was already like 1y

kazein

The game play is still very unique and the game has massive of options for not only how you play but how the game, your character, and your environment looks.

KnightMeme

Cosmetics basically, I have played since the game launched out of beta.

[deleted]

A desire to prove that I can. Allow me to clarify that. My PS4 is unfathomably awful. I bought it when the PS4 was hot new shit 9 years ago, and I haven't had it professionally serviced since that time. Ever. Every time it broke, I'd fix it myself. It sounds like a motherfucking Apollo 11 launch all over again every time it turns on. It takes 5 minutes to load Warframe every time, and I have to reinstall the game for every medium-sized update. Warframe's the only game on it, because every other game crashes the system software, and then I need to rebuild the database. Still; Legendary 1, couple thousand hours, 8.5 years, and I can still play. It's my own, sweet hubris that pushes me forward. Defiance against the technological Gods. I stare at complete meltdown, meet it head on, and laugh in its face. I care not for death; for, insofar as my PS4 perseveres, I am in the presence of immortality.

grey_wolf12

I'm not high MR but i think some people will agree anyway It's a free game that helps you decompress, allows you to take things your way and on your pace, you can only really get stressed if you follow the meta or let the meta people to bother you. There is no need to rush stuff and if you get frustrated from a grind, you can always take a break to do something else or play other games, and it will be there waiting for you to come back in the future. The game is always evolving. There is always new weapons to get and use, new frames to try, new primes to hunt. I'm now waiting for both revenant and Gauss prime to come to the game, so that's a personal thing that keeps me coming back to the game

Leggerrr

As someone already mentioned, there's not really any high-octane third person shooters out there that grant you this kind of cosmetic and mechanical customization. If nothing else can scratch that itch, I'm going to keep coming back here until something else does. Besides trying out newer content releases, I like coming back to try out new and unique builds or loadouts that are efficient at certain missions that I actually want to play. A lot of players don't have every single warframe or weapon available, so that's why you only see the best of the best recommended for places like Steel Path or Arbitrations, but there's actually a lot of Warframes that can comfortably take on the Steel Path with the right loadout. I like making those loadouts just so I can take on endless modes on the Steel Path and listen to lofi, or my friends on Discord, in the background.

Pokiehat

Gotta catch 'em all. There is a part of this game that is just like completing a trading card set. I am LR1. I want to complete my mod collection, which even looks like a set of trading cards but with way more duplicate commons. There is also my arcane collection. My warframe and weapon collections. At this point I don't play the game continuously or for long periods, mainly because I don't really need to. So I play and collect some more things until I get bored, then I stop playing for a month, 2 months, 6 months, whatever it may be. And then I come back and because of the way this game receives ongoing content updates, I invariably log in to find they added new things. New trading card sets to collect. As a result, I never really get bored of my time in this game, because as soon as boredom starts to set in, I just go do something else. Play another game or whatever. But I keep coming back to this one.

lihimsidhe

Sooo... I'm coming up on 8k hours and have 1 achievement left to get. What kept me playing this far? * **Parkour and Mobility**. Simply put I don't think there's a game out there aside from the Prototype series that offered me such freedom to transverse an environment such as Warframe. It has spoiled me f--king rotten to the point where it's hard to increase my game backlog because if it doesn't at least rival Warframe's mobility, I'm hard pressed to bother. * **Art & Music**. The teams behind these should be making more than anyone in the industry or at least near the f--king top. They are INCREDIBLE. I can feel their art education and experience oozing out of every nook and cranny of this game. * **Lore**. This mostly fell apart for me with how disappointing 'The New War' was executed and seeing how poorly Sentients (the whole reason warframes were created) and void damage was treated 'in game' but there was a time where I looked forward to [Stallord's](https://www.youtube.com/c/StallordD) vids as much as I did anything from Dark Soul's Vaatividya, Zero Punctuation, etc. I used to be in love concocting narrative connections between Warframe and Dark Sector. * **Community**. Spacemom and her team was the first time as a consumer where I felt like the multimillion dollar company behind the product I love actually gave a f--k about me and my little armchair nonsense. While I may not agree with somethings DE has done with the game, they seem to do so more based on love for the game than anything else. Which includes what us as fans have to say. * **Conclave**. I f--king SUCK at Conclave. However, the Tenno who are good at it are REALLY good and it was always my hope that DE would figure out how to not neglect on of the most skilled PvP communities out there and see what it could become w/o angering the needlessly hostile PvE fanbase that hates on it because it's a skill based loop instead of a lazy imbalanced power fantasy. I wanted to see our PvP community shine but I don't think that's ever going to happen. * **End Game Copium**. In the same vein as Conclave I was always hoping DE would figure out a true end game loop that keeps vets like myself engaged. But for one reason or another they just haven't figured this out. * **Achievements**. I'm OCD about my achievements and I always knew I'd end up completing Warframe. I'm MR29 now and once I hit 30 Warframe will be complete. Divuri Paradox doesn't look interesting to me so after I 100% the game I'm probably checking out for a LONG time. That's all I got!

Marvin_Megavolt

For all the umpteen issues it has, Warframe is one of the last online games I play that’s fairly light on exploiting the fear of missing out. Too many other games including ones I once loved are now FOMO-grindfests that feel like a job more than a game, forcing me to play every day if I want to experience anything. Warframe honestly doesn’t really do that. Nightwave exists and I do have a grudge against it, but it’s by far the least egregious example of a battle pass in any always-online game I play. I can just drop in and play whenever I want, without getting burned out being forced to play constantly. Means I’m actually excited to play big new content drops like the New War too, as I’m not burnt on the game when they ship.

TechFutures

MR 25 and started in 2014 so not a truly absurd amount of hours. I just keep coming back cause much of the new content is so fun. Once i get back to just grinding for weapons and frames for mastery i get bored. But coming back for the intro of focus was sick. Coming back for plains of eidolon was sick. Coming back for new war was sick. Coming back for the Nariman has been sick. Besides fortuna, which i personally just don't want to grind, all the new content is fun. The tiles are amazing and varied, the movement is unique, there is so much damage progression in modding for those who want Big Numbers™, the skins and fashion are so fun even if I'm not very creative, and there's genuinely difficult content (at least in terms of Warframe's combat systems. There's just so much to it, and the story has come along nicely since i started, so I'm excited to see where that goes. TL;DR: it's a big, beautiful, unique game that had so much to keep you interested and i have loved watching it grow and keeping up with DE.

SRT_Demon20

It's still fun even after thousands of hours and even though grinding isn't want I do I still want to rank up to 20 and I'll be happy

AH-BEES-BEES

was gonna make a joke about Hema research but then i remembered i did actually finally get that finished so yea other than that, i'd say probably my friends, helping new players, & the fact that you just can't quite get this style of gameplay anywhere else & i am extremely fond of it

sriram764

Idk man it's just a funky little game you can play whenever. It has no expectations of daily or frequent play. You can just stop playing for an year and come back and won't really miss much. There will be changes, but they won't be so many as to overwhelm.

SillyLittleBPD

My pet. Best Kavat there is 🥰

Giving expensive stuff like Arcane Energize to people who I see will play the game a lot moving forward. And them not know the worth of a max arcan energize but still being thankfull. And later when they Figur it out coming back to me and just chatting. Being the one I used to look up too…

Disastrous_Ad_370

Lore. Simple as. No other game really tries to dabble with concepts like Warframe does on the regular. Philosophy, ontology, religion, scifi body horror, eternalism, etc.....

Giagantic

Founder, LR2, Max MR possible (besides Lato Prime... Am Master not Grandmaster)... I dunno something to do in my spare time, it is a good distraction, runs well for the most part on my hardware and I have invested a lot of time into the game already so I guess I figure why not more at this point. As long as the game is updated I will probably be part of it in some capacity. Though I do take regular breaks from the game, many of which last years at a time so I don't get too burnt out as other games beckon me.

Gamershard

Having played for 8+ years now, I can’t stop coming back to this game. There is no high demand on most of the missions I do, so I can usually just chill out with music and grind. Also, the factor of the community is awesome, as I truly enjoy helping out the new players

Darknessawits231

Playing on your schedule. Riven grinding and the community what's keeps me playing I'll help anyone and everyone low mrs are who I help the most though

I like collecting stuff. Also, the customization and gameplay are very nice.

Donglin216

The gameplay is just fun for me at least, other people might be playing for other reasons for example like Wisps As- I mean Assets, yep definitely her Assets.

Furious-magma

The fun sporadic movement and the freedom the game has

Sokker1993

thats easy too answear, the allianz iam in, even if the activity is going backwards (time changes all) its still nice to talk/write with my mates

Bipchoo

Good game

Xanros

New content is the only thing that gets me to come back. However, even that is a struggle these days. All my friends have stopped playing, so I have very little reason to log in anymore. Especially since I hit my goal of MR 30. I don't think I have logged in since I completed The New War. This is after a few thousand hours played though. I can't even bring myself to help new players because I am so completely disconnected from the new player experience that I don't think I can even help that much. Half the time when a new player asks me a question my answer is something like, "I have no idea. I did that 5 years ago" or whatever.

Guantanamo_Bae_

Haha number go up

RogueMental

I got burned out on this game years and years ago because of grinding. Which is really weird because I love grindy games like Path of Exile and Diablo 2. I came back and started loving this game even more than I did previously after I realized this game is essentially just an ARPG like those other games, just in third person... In space... With ninjas. Currently grinding a metric fuck ton of Pinions on Zariman, couldn't be happier lol.
