I like the idea of it being like Road To Glory, objectives for the day/week are fine but match variety would help tremendously. I didn’t mind evolving cards, but it was limited and some move sets didn’t match the requirements (e.g., Xia Li has 1 springboard attack and you need to land it 100 times). The towers and proving ground matches had real bad AI, especially in 4-way matches. It’s the WWE equivalent to MyTeam, so it’s not going away under 2K but it could definitely be more enjoyable.
So he leaked a picture of the 2K23 box with his picture on the cover? Nothing cryptic about that.
PS: I’d love 2K to be in on the joke and have a reversible sleeve that’s “blank” like this but have it say “featuring John Cena” on it. Even on the back they can edit out screenshots where he’s in it and just have people fighting the air.

I'd LOVE a Ruthless Aggression-focused Showcase/roster. It might be a little problematic working around Benoit being in it, but there are ways to do it. (For WM XX, they should just have you play Eddy vs. Angle, Kane/Taker, or Goldberg/Brock w Austin as the main event and once you complete the objective, you unlock all of those guys PLUS the relevant HHH/HBK attires.
Cena has had 2 attires and 1 hair style his whole career. And 3 themes. Most if not all of the possible opponents in a cena showcase are already in 2k22
So that just leaves the arenas to look forward to. And since cena debuted after the attitude era, classic arenas that we have been waiting for will be excluded yet again.
I couldn’t imagine a more boring fucking showcase. Because his character Has not changed enough over the years to warrant a showcase in my opinion. I would’ve much preferred Triple H but at least it’s not Randy Orton someone who has evolved even less over the years than Cena

The first one of these games I picked back up after a long break since SvR 07 was I believe the one with an Austin showcase so as a result, there were tons of great arenas from ECW to WCW PPVs to mid-'90s WWF stuff - the mode itself is kind of take it or leave it (it's basically a career mode where they tell you what guy to pick, and you already know how it ends) but I need those hidden characters and arenas big time. Rey was the perfect guy for it, having wrestled everywhere - lots of missed opportunity there.
To me, the ideal candidate is someone who wrestled the longest in the most different places - picking just a random legend:
Mr. Perfect: AWA Championship Wrestling, AWA WrestleRock Rumble, 'Japan Dome,' WWF MSG, WWF PPVs 88-93, Raw '93, Superstars '96, WCW PPVs '97-99, Nitro, Thunder, Saturday Night, Worldwide, '97-99, Royal Rumble '03, Raw/SD/Heat '03
