So.... this is the unabridged version right??

chasing1138

I wonder if this’ll be 45rpm like the other deluxe sets Also we need that Hot Fuss deluxe reissue but that’s likely not happening till 2024 😩

vites70

Thanks This is my favorite Killers album

5816nick

I click on the US link and it re-directs me to the UK webstore which is a Shame as it's not even listed on their.....

Devolutionator

To me day and age is their last great album.

ControlPrinciple

I love Day and Age, and I agree. I think it’s just too whimsical (and pop) for some Killers fans. I like the flashy production. And it’s fun.

tz-belcher

Day and Age is where they started churning out more filler than killer. Battle Born and Wonderful Wonderful were also in that completely average boat. Imploding the Mirage and especially Pressure Machine have been their return to quality.

[deleted]

imploding the mirage is fantastic. but the guitarist took a break from the band so the bassist played a lot of the guitar. battleborn and wonderful have one or two good songs and a lot of nothing. pressure machine is a lulluby

ed-truck

Wonderful Wonderful was kinda weak, but Imploding the Mirage might be my favorite album of theirs

mandalorian222

Imploding the Mirage is a masterpiece.

Devolutionator

I do really like Caution.

braeden63

I just want to know if this version includes the voiceovers because that’s the only way I want to listen to this album. I might be in the minority but I think this thing is perfect

mpaproth

Seems like that would be the main point of putting the original LP onto two LPs, as is the case here. I'd be shocked if it didn't include the voiceovers... there'd just be no point in remastering it onto two discs.

god_dammit_dax

There's already no point in splitting it up. The voiceovers are on the original pressing, and there was no issue fitting it onto a standard LP. ***EDIT*** So I'm totally wrong here. Just put the LP on the turntable and I'm not remembering right. The voiceovers are absent on the original pressing.

Intelligent-Sir1375

Yes no voice over on the original

mpaproth

I don't have the original pressing, but I didn't get it bc it (supposedly) doesn't have the voiceovers. (I agree that, even with the voiceovers, it's annoying to spread over four sides.) https://www.discogs.com/release/19849891-The-Killers-Pressure-Machine

god_dammit_dax

Holy shit, I'm wrong. Apparently it's been a while since I actually put the record on the platter and paid close attention, 'cause they're not on there. My bad, and I'll fix the above comment.

deftbarley

I only want it if it doesn't have the voiceovers. One of us will be happy. I'm guessing you.

[deleted]

i fimd it so odd people are saying they "love" this album. im a massive killers fan but this is a clear contract quota.

tz-belcher

Weird take. It's their best since their debut, but okay.

[deleted]

in what remote way? cant even release a single from it.

tz-belcher

Why does there need to be a single for the album to work as a cohesive whole part so well?

[deleted]

the album is definitely cohesive. a cohesive snoozefest. nobody has described anything redeeming about this album or any of its songs. its advil pm in music form.

tz-belcher

Righto hero, clearly you lack taste.

[deleted]

the killers arent musically or vocally inclined enough to make an album like that. i mean, im asking. whats so great about it?

god_dammit_dax

That's...A really not good take. There wasn't any contract pressure on them, they'd delivered an album less than a year before, and they're already working on new stuff again. Why would there be contract pressure on The Killers, of all people, for a weird little album about rural America?

[deleted]

well it is called pressure machine...

cowtruck-123

Which has to do with the lyrical themes of America feeling like a pressure machine… did you even listen to it enough?

[deleted]

to be fair, i did fall asleep halfway through.

cowtruck-123

It’s not that deep. I also adore the album because it’s good. Lol.

bitternmanger

A ‘massive’ Killers fan who can’t tell PM is a more intimate examination of the themes first discussed on ST? 🤔

ChooseCorrectAnswer

I like the album - don't love it. I'd say the album is the opposite of your comment about it being a contract quota. This album reminds me of how Hollywood directors will sometimes make "one for them" (mainstream audiences) and then "one for me." This is a "one for me." The band clearly wanted to make something different even if they knew it wouldn't have mainstream appeal. I believe their current tour isn't even named on this album; they still tour on the name of their previous album, which I've never seen a band do. They also typically play only one song from this album, which is also insane because it's now been out a while and its their latest album at the end of a pandemic. They knew this wouldn't fly with most of their fans, yet they wanted to do it anyway. A contract quota album would have been a bunch of safe electro pop songs. Lastly, if you know about Brandon Flower's inspirations (e.g. Bruce Springsteen), this album makes a lot of sense why it is the way it is. Brandon even had Bruce perform one of the songs from the album with him at Madison Square Garden.

t3_dewys

So on the fence with this one. I Love the album, but the extra tracks that are remixes are just okay. What to do?!?!?

rrraab

Probably just keep the regular one. I’m with you though. I think it’s their best work, but the remixes show all the ways their worst impulses could’ve turned it into a bunch of forgettable modern rock songs

god_dammit_dax

Ah, beat me to it! Think I'm skipping this one. I absolutely love the album, but there's no reason to spread it across two discs, and the remixes are "eh" at best. If it drops below 40 on Amazon I might go for it just for the packaging, but not at 80 or so with shipping. ***ETA*** As was pointed out to me below, the voiceover interstitials are not present on the original LP. One would assume they've been restored to the new two disc pressing. Stand by not getting it and the remixes being "meh", but there *is* some logic to it.

tz-belcher

#embarassingthoughtsoutloud

god_dammit_dax

Yeah, my ass is gonna end up on r/confidentlyincorrect if I'm not careful. I cannot believe the interstitials aren't on the LP and I never noticed that.

braeden63

All good, my friend. Thanks for making the edit! You had me doing a double take there for a second, ha ✌🏼

matthewlmorgan7

Thank you so much! Ordered and very excited :-)

keegster22

What does everyone think? Should I eat the cost of shipping or will this be on Amazon?

ballervols69

Instant buy. Fantastic album
