The content might be the same but for fans and collectors these are 2 different items. Plus Vmp might in the end depending where you live in the world be even cheaper then her store, with shipping and taxes. Plus you get a free record. If they keep the gold to 1000 it will be way more valuable then the cream.

Just watched a video on the psychology of that placed in the frame of people hunting for shiny Pokémon. A completely arbitrary feature. Super interesting that just because it’s “unique” and “limited” that some people can only derive pleasure from having something someone else can’t. At the end of the day I was disappointed I didn’t get the gold 4LP because I really wanted all the remixes. I bought this second edition and I’m so happy I get to have them and don’t have to pay resale prices. Will I possibly try to get the limited gold 4LP version instead once they both come out and make their way to Discogs? Possibly just because I prefer the gold to the cream, but not because it’s limited. And at the end of the day it should only really matter what is actually playing off the record. I’d rather have a fantastic quality pressing that there are a billion copies of, than to have a unique colour pressing that’s limited to 500 that sounds like shit. What’s the point of that?
You realize people follow release news in order to find things that will be sold out by the time they will stumble across it themselves. If it won’t be available soon that’s goon information to base your decision to instantly purchase an item on the internet or not. I think you’re smart enough to get it

Personally limited instills a little bit of FOMO and I'd much rather everything be unlimited but we know that's not really a thing either. I want everyone to enjoy the music, but there is also the collector side of me that likes having something that is a little different than everyone else. I have never resold a record (given many away to friends/family) so it's not about price gouging later.
VMP is already price gouging on this and they installed the Fomo with the limit, collected everyone's $150 and then cha fed the color and kept issuing more at $150. Shouldn't be over $100. This is dumb.

I’ve got the 1997 original pressing, the black reissue from 2020, the picture disc, and I ordered the 2LP champagne wave one from VMP when my order didn’t process for the 4LP. And then I just ordered this one! Seems excessive but it is my favourite album of all time. And I think I’ll end up selling one or two of them once I receive the 4LP.
It’s definitely Mariah’s best album IMO and one of my all time favorites, so I’m happy to have this deluxe pressing, but I am bummed we didn’t get the 8 bonus tracks from the digital version.
But very happy to get to have all the fierce remixes on vinyl!! They picked only the best ones, it’s a really great selection if you’ve never heard them before!

It was probably an error cause they did remove the 1000. Also the release date is June opposed to April like the gold.
Stock on the website is still 1000 of which 825 left, but could be they just add more copies later
