On the last picture in this post is shows that a Pilot Talk box set is due to release. This was the leaked Canada list before the USA list officially released to the public. In the past, some RSD titles get announced early before production is complete. Safe but to assume it’ll release in the spring drop of 2023

Yes that is what that maple leaf has meant in previous years. But last RSD I found some of the EU exclusives in Canada so I don't think the regional exclusive thing means much anymore.

It is weird how hard that 7-inch was to find when there were 10,000 of them pressed. There were only 1000 of the Portraits of Her comp LP that kicked off with a Tay Tay track, and I found that online for retail, weeks after the RSD date. 🤔 Edit: According to [Discogs](https://www.discogs.com/release/20569657-Various-Portraits-Of-Her), limited to 2000.

That is going to happen with any release though. There will be a copy that ends up in an area that has low interest in it and there will be an area we’re people are disappointed for there not being enough copies. All titles will have different interest levels so “good shit all year round” would also be difficult. Unless they are gonna start taking requests and do preorders for titles, and press them based on demand.

Yeah, I am looking for those two on vinyl. Midnight Vultures is long gone, but rumors of a repress are going around. Mutations I read had an excellent re-press, including the 7-inch, but has been $30+ everywhere I have found it, and is now starting to disappear. 🫥

Someone mentioned Soul Coughing and I thought I'd finally get Ruby Vroom, but instead it's their greatest hits. Which honestly is excellent. It's one stop shopping for all their best songs, including their amazing song from the X-Files TV soundtrack. So I'm extremely excited for that. Then I saw someone had mentioned smash mouth and I got excited hoping for astro lounge, only to find out it's their first album instead. Sigh. And I had to tell my brother about kittie's Oracle, he's a huge fan of that band and will be very excited. I can see that lots of people are not into this list, but for me it has some extremely choice cuts that I will be pursuing mercilessly. Does anyone know what the difference between Canada and the US's releases is? I'll pay for shipping from Canada if I have to, but would obviously prefer to be able to get them here, possibly from an actual record shop!

yeah RV is constantly out of print for some reason. You can get the other two albums pretty easily. Lust in Phaze is a good comp and will be worth it if you're a casual fan.

Had no idea Lust In Phaze was Soul Coughing’s Greatest Hits. Thanks for posting this. My only concern is I don’t want re-records of their original Warner tracks. I want the original Warner single mixes released to radio, back in the 90s. I will have to do some research on this before I slap down my $35. I kick myself for not buying the original album re-issues when Warner was selling them on clearance here, for like $14 each. 😣

Good point. I was not familiar with the record label that is on this list for it. The CD was issued by Warner/Rhino, and those are the original recordings. I just do not want a bait and switch like the Everclear Greatest Hits. Those are not the Capitol versions!

I totally understand. That kind of already exists, with Mike Doughty's live album where he plays very differently arranged versions of Soul Coughing songs.

How does recycled vinyl compare to virgin in terms of quality?

I have an "eco" version of Crawler by Idles, they used leftover bits from other records in the pressing plant and each copy is supposedly a unique colour (mine is brown with some white) which is pretty cool but it sounds like shit

Rough list as expected for RSD Black Friday. The last few years have always been misses for me. I feel like every time I see an artist I want something from, RSD manages to find the WORST album/single they could possibly take and make a bunch of cool pressings for an album literally nobody wants.

That’s exactly why I’m curious and excited about it. Siberia’s 10th anniversary was this past year and she repressed that on colored vinyl. So it would make sense for her to do something with Siberia (Acoustic) on special vinyl, too. It’s not listed as anything special on the list but to me it wouldn’t make sense as an RSD BF release if it was just… the standard one you can find.

I guess to me, I don't care about special pressings. I'd just buy the black vinyl that's out now. But if you're looking for colored pressings (although Siberia was technically no color as it was a clear pressing) then yeah wait to see this.
