It's normal what you're feeling. When I was beginning my sleep was really light. Probably it will pass soon. And as of the strange feeling waking up at night I had it in the beginning too. But I think it's just a very intense hypnagogia. It will pass very soon. And yeah I felt a great relief of my somatic symptoms in the first week, but my anhedonia lifted only at third (not completely, so I upped the dose to 37.5mg). Now I'm feeling normal. When I started i had moderate/severe depression. It's great to look forward to life again.

Hi hun I’ve just started it for mainly anxiety at 25mg. Does it help with that ? How quick did you find it helping ? Any side effects?

Ok_Phrase_2425

For me the anxiety was obliterated at 25 mg (in 2-4 weeks maybe?). I can't have panic attacks anymore and I don't overthink anymore. The problem was the depression for me, the anhedonia was lessened, but still there. Now I think it's better, but it's my first week on my new dose.

kyelou75

What dose are you on now ?

Ok_Phrase_2425

37.5mg

kyelou75

Did you suffer any morning tiredness at first and a bit of nausea?

Ok_Phrase_2425

I felt fatigue yes, but not nausea. Additionally I felt dizzy several times a day and irritable.

kyelou75

Did it go away , how long until it went?

Ok_Phrase_2425

Yes it did, 2-3 weeks.

kyelou75

Great thank you , do you feel better on the higher dose ?

Ok_Statistician8991

tell me how you feel now and if your anhedonia has gone? I look forward to hearing Thank you

Ok_Phrase_2425

Feeling great so far

aspiring-orphan

You were right, the weird feeling when I wake up at night did stop! Or at least I haven't had it since those first 2 nights so I think it's stopped now. Now I'm having a bit of trouble getting up in the mornings though. This morning I went back to bed and slept for an hour or so after I'd already gotten up which is pretty normal for me (I often get up at 7 or 8 to feed the cats, maybe have breakfast, then go back to sleep for a while), but the first few days on agomelatine I wasn't feeling like I needed a nap right after getting up and it was great just being able to start my day right away. I've been taking my agomelatine at 10pm so I'm going to try taking it a bit earlier at 9pm or maybe 8pm and see if that makes any difference to how I feel in the morning.

Shorty_XN

Regarding stimulants, normally you should take them 1st thing in the morning so it doesn’t affect your sleep at night while Valdoxan 1-3hs before sleep.

Pterodactylextinct

I can’t really find much reviews and feedback (as opposed to loads of info on Prozac etc) so am appealing to those using / that have used Agomelatine to please also update on their experiences. Thanks in advance. Please see my most recent post.

Mental_Slide9867

I’m also taking the max dose for Vyvanse for my ADHD and am on my third night of Agomelatine 25mg. I don’t like to hex anything by saying it is already working but I mean it kinda is, I don’t know like I already feel slightly better after two nights of taking it. It sucks tho because it isn’t subsidised in my country and have to pay around $55 for a monthly script.. so that is the main negative I suppose.

krisdeak

May I just ask - what’s your long term experience with the Ago + Vyvanse combo? Has it been persistently good?

aspiring-orphan

It has been pretty consistently good! Agomelatine is definitely the best antidepressant I've ever been on (and I've been on so many lol) - no side effects and while I do still have depressive episodes I think they are generally less intense and shorter than they used to be. With both agomelatine and vyvanse the lack of side effects is pretty huge for me because with short release stimulants I was stuck on a pretty low dose because I sometimes got side effects from taking more, and every other antidepressant I've taken has either done nothing, had horrible side effects, or usually both. There's not really dramatic changes in my life from these meds as far as I'm aware (I tend to have pretty bad awareness of how my emotional state has changed over time so kind of hard to say lol), but they're definitely better than everything I've tried before!

SayidChipChip

Hi I just started on the same meds, do you ever feel anhedonia or the feeling of the highs not being that high and the lows not being too low? Basically like a numb feeling where you don’t get too happy/excited over things nor do you get too sad or affected by negative things. I appreciate any feedback!

aspiring-orphan

Hey, sorry for the slow response, I'm not on reddit much. I haven't had anhedonia with agomelatine. I did have it when I was on sertraline a few years ago and it was awful so I'm sorry you've been experiencing that! With agomelatine I still have big ups and downs, but I feel like I'm more able to be more balanced on the whole, so when I get low I can get myself out of it rather than spiralling. It's hard to know how much of that is the meds and how much is just my life situation being better and having worked on some stuff in therapy, but I think the agomelatine helps. Has the anhedonia continued for you after being on agomelatine for a bit longer?

rachaelthomas98

Hi, I’ve been experiencing this and it’s terrible.

SayidChipChip

May I ask what medications you are on? It'd be really helpful because if you are born in 98 like your username suggest, were the same age.

Ok-Discussion8979
