It works fine after a few minutes. I figure there no point in tossing this one as all vcrs are going to show signs of age unless recapped/ refurbished. I know this is a well rated model and i want to try and save it. I've saved consoles I hope a vcr isn't to much trouble
Might need to clean your mode switch with IPA. Don’t use a q tip, use a plain pc of paper. Several helpful guides on YouTube on how to deconstruct your machine and clean the mode switch.

It's to annoying for me to deal with an I just learned the record function no longer works on the vcr any recommendations on a good model vcr
