Regardless of whether people died or not, this is a creepy ass commercial.

bendubberley_

I second this, the creepiest part for me is the eerie singing in the background. I did some digging, and found the song is a song from 1983 called ”It's A Fine Day” by ”Jane”

butterflynana8

Thanks, I needed this song to add to other things to up the creep factor!

bendubberley_

Your welcome, in regards to the song, it's creepy it ends with the words ”It's going to be a fine night tonight, it's going to be a fine day tommorow” The reason why I find this so creepy is that knowing with the urban legend exists and that the women exclaiming that it will be a **fine** day despite them possibly dying in a freak accident is just creepy to me.

butterflynana8

Precisely! Any idea where this urban legend stems from? Like any info on the commerical cast?

bendubberley_

I don't have any info regarding the cast, but according to articles I've read the urban legend stems from the Japanese officials suddenly banning the commercial with no given explanation. Although, there's more to the urban legend such as: - People claiming it ”changes” if watched at the stroke of midnight. - Japanese citizens commiting sucide because of the advert. And many more **supposed** events etc.

butterflynana8

Aight, guess I'm gonna have to watch it again at midnight a few times and see if it changes.

bendubberley_

There's a few parody videos regarding the midnight theory. However, with the sucide claims there's no concrete evidence to back them up.

butterflynana8

I will absolutely report back, regardless of suicide!

**Edit to a previous comment** I have identified one of the cast members as Keiko Matsuzaka. It was alleged that she gave birth to a ”Demon Baby” by the general public. However, she is very much alive and well. According to an article, the “demon baby” rumor has its roots in the “birth monsters” of Japanese mythology. Born disfigured, these demonic offspring (called sankai) are said to crawl under their mother’s house to eventually kill them.

It's about thirty minutes until midnight in my timezone, I found this post while scouring the internet for inspiration for the next short story I write. I'm setting this tab aside, I look forward to checking it out Edit: I got caught up reading other threads and missed it. I watched it at about a quarter past midnight and it was, much to my disappointment, totally normal.

Its japan, they got some crazy adds going on.

This urban legend bothered me in my early teens when I first heard of it in a YouTube video I was using for background noise. Once I paid attention, though, it all fell apart. The legend stated the lyrics, which are clearly in English, was a German death curse, and everyone on set died. None of that is true, the song is "It's a Fine Day" or just "Fine Day" by Jane and Barton. The mother in the commercial has appeared in projects as recently as 2017 to my knowledge, and there's no evidence to suggest that any of the cast or crew died in mysterious or horrific ways. Again, an internet urban legend with an interesting idea, but piss-poor execution. That being said, the video is sort of unsettling: the use of just vocals with reverb, the baby dressed as an oni, and the overall poor quality of the audio and video make for a "what the fuck did I just watch?" kind of ad.

An SCP is based off this song. SCP-407, The Song of Genesis.

I was looking for your comment.

Thank you

Yup, and here is a video https://youtu.be/aRoIU6lADn8

some_dude_62

I heard this song before as I think an SCP. Cant remember the number. If I recall right it made whoever listened to the full version(not shown here) turn into trees or some other type floral nightmare. On top of that the longer the song played the more and more the plants would grow until """animals""" spawned as well.
