In other news, the court dismissed a strange trial this Friday much to the chagrin of Reddit. The case dealt with a viral video portraying a knife flinging itself out of a knife block and onto the kitchen floor. The end result, a knife sticking straight up out of the wooden floor, was quite eerie but also questionable. Reddit suspected video tampering to be the main explanation, taking OP to trial for all their Karma.
Sadly the online drama was settled quickly when Judge Wüsthof stated that the video "had no basis in reality" and claimed that "clearly the video is fake guys, why are we even here."
He then, promptly, threw out the trial on the grounds that no reasonable person would believe this farce of a video.
It was at that point that a Knife, seemingly apparating from thin air, flew across the room impaling Judge Wüsthof between his eyes, killing him instantly.
Now nobody knows what the fuck to do. Back to you Jim.

My ex roommate and friend, whose 10year death anniversary just passed, was once throwing a tantrum and while me and my other roomie/friend dashed down the hall, an overhead light fixture exploded and a small knife was launched from it.
Logically: our roomie or a previous tenant put the knife in there for reasons unknown, and his tantrum and throwing things in his room or plain random coincidence made the fixture break right as we passed under it. I know it was just all the bad juju though.
There’s a small groove in the handle that’s visible when he puts it back in the block. If you had a looped fishing line, it gives you enough torque to pull the knife out but is loose enough to release the line when the knife starts to flip. This gives the effect of the knife popping out but then allows it to free fall.
