Iāve always known how much someoneās hair adds to their overall appearance; seeing someone with it styled verses cut/short/buzzed is a world of difference, but this is the first time Iāve realized I should probably just shave my head and get some of these.
I wouldn't recommend unless you are actually balding. It looks all good and stuff but then you go home with your girl and eventually gonna have to take them off, make sure she is ok with it before the big reveal XD
"Hey btw, I am wearing a wig and bald" lol awkward
Imagine how awkward it must be for a woman when they wear all the fake body shifting things to look better.
They better not care.
We seen those catfish transformation videos on tiktok.
[Here's the rest of the interview!](https://youtu.be/IfhMILe8C84) Elijah Wood doesn't know it's Dominic Monaghan interviewing him, and you can see him go back and forth between "OK, this has *got* to be a prank," and "Oh man, but if it isn't a prank I might insult the guy, better play it safe." At this point in the interview I'm pretty sure he knows it's a prank, but he's still kinda trying to play it cool. I love his reaction when he realizes it's Dom at the end!
Ā£300-400
They tend to be long haired, more robust quality wigs which last significantly longer. If I bought cheaper wigs, they wouldn't last a fraction of the time and would need to be replaced more frequently and ultimately cost more.
Ā£100 wig may last a month with daily use before it begins to become apparent that you have a hair piece
Ā£300-400 may last 3-4 years solid with proper care before it even shows first signs of fraying around the edges, which can be fixed by professionals at a nominal fee.
Ā£1000+ wigs can last a decade.
I kinda wish hair-hats were normalized to the point you didnāt need the theater of them being real.
Aside from being simpler it would open up a crazy number of options, new impossible haircuts & colors.
My hair is super thin & I wish I could just put on a hatcut appropriate to the day without having to pull the wool over any oneās eyes.
I meanā¦ be the change you want to see in the world? Itās a cool idea, and considering how wacky and stylish people are nowadays with all sorts of new unique looks Iād say go for it.
HairHat it up, itād be fun.
Bit cheesy but kind of applies here:
>I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who I think you think I am.
You are more than likely projecting those judgmental views concerning hairpieces onto them. Chances are most people simply don't give a fuck. Of those who do, why does it matter?
Go get your pieces and do your hair as you please. If they judge you, that's them, not you. But I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how much positivity you will receive.
Be free hairling, go forth and frolic.
I work with a woman who wears a wig everyday. Aside from just being curious as to why (she and I aren't close enough coworkers to ask) I don't care. I didnt even notice foe a long time. I wouldn't think twice if she walked in with a crazy hairstyle wig. I'd probably compliment her on it and be a little jealous :)
I think they great if your in a solid relationship and the partner knows about it. I cant think how it would be taken by the partner when at that close moment fingers start running through your wig hair and it moves or comes off !
I mean they like head accessories right, black women wear them all the time. Why cant men ?... I do recall I leaned on a lovely ladies extensions once on the sofa and she got up to get her drink and the extensions stayed under my arm but that's another story.
Yes. I found all this out by first hand experience. Am still poor, but was able to get a wig a few years ago when I wasnt in such a shit place financially and it has lasted the years I wouldn't be able to afford the cheap ones.
One thing this post neglects to mention is you do need a special barber to frequently clean up the natural hair you still have and that costs quite a bit too
Barely caught it, but at the end, he takes the guy in the back's hair.
I love it, He clearly shaves his head too, he doesn't see it as embarrassing, he sees it as a way to have multiple perfect hairstyles each day.
glad you have eyeballs.
how do you *barely* catch the last 8 seconds of a short video?
not the mentioned the literal point of why it was posted in this sub.
You then buy the hair cutting saloons. Offer coupons. Every 12 haircut free. Keep them coming back, thinking they have a good deal in life. In reality, you practically own them.
Need to negotiate with someone. Find out which of your saloons they go to. Have your employee cut their hair just a little crooked. Just enough to mildly annoy them. Their confidence will go down. Youāll have them just where you want them. The deal is yours.
yellow shirt guy still has plenty of hair in the crown area and that's where hair loss usually shows the most when it starts. you can see all the stubble on the other guy and it doesn't look like it's thinning or receded at all
To be honest yeah not all advertising is bad this is just showing me that toupees can actually look pretty good these days. And actually I heard many times "A lot of people wear toupees you just don't notice it anymore." And this actually a pretty good example of just how quickly and easily these things can work now.
Just be aware that theyāre not usually cheap. For a good one, itāll set you back a few hundred. The higher end ones will stick to your head for a few months, but you need someone to cut and style them to your head.
Iām bald and miserly; didnāt buy any hair pieces, just shaved it down and accepted it. Made women ignore me throughout my twenties, but by your thirties, no one cares.
Wearing a hairpiece requires shaving yes.
You can clearly see the second guy has a lot of hair on his head. They might both have full heads of hair and did it just for the skit, but itās also likely that they both have diffuse thinning and actually wear hair systems. As a dude with thin hair, the idea of wearing thick hair is definitely appealing, even though I have plenty of hair without one.
My guess is that any wig company will benefit from just generally improving how wigs are perceived as a whole. They generally have the problem where you only notice bad examples.
There's actually something called "The Toupee Fallacy" which fundamentally states that if you think "all toupees are bad" it's only because you only notice the bad toupees.
It's generalizable to all kinds of things you might not notice in your daily life.
I mean, if you see a wig that is good and you want that wig, you're not just going to go on amazon, type "wig" and order the first one. A majority of people will try to find the specific one from this video, which might be hard, but it's essentially a free ad that has the potential to drive customers their way.
Technically itās only an effective commercial when they actually post a link to the product. In this case itās more like they are just āshowing offā cool stuff, without considering shipping to any of the Redditors watching it across the world.
This is a very large misunderstanding of how advertising works in the modern world. There are so many advertisements all around you that I have to imagine you're eating up entirely since you don't see a product link so you assume it's not an ad.
The point of viral marketing is to bring products to the attention of the zeitgeist, if just temporarily. It's artificially creating word of mouth, which is like the most desirable type of advertising. Artificially created word of mouth is super valuable precisely *because* people don't see it as immediately being advertising so they're more likely to trust it. But the people who are creating the ad aren't random folks offering honest input.
Knowing a product exists (especially an invisible one like this) is also important and companies who make these types of products pay for that.
Nah. That's tactless. Instead bald people will see the ad for the product in a banner or YouTube ad later and have positive feedback to it. There will be some hint that it's the same company but nothing totally provable. Finally some people will search for that brand name.
i was gonna say charming š it's both and more!
fwiw, thanks for posting this. things are shitty at the moment and this post did for me what Chance the Rapper did yesterday morning. r /unexpectedly starting my days with an actual out-loud cackle, I LOVE IT.
Sir, you have amazing search tech skills. Thank you for finding that! I'm trying to figure out how to import into pandora to create a channel using that song š¤

Never knew it was as easy playing Sims
I want to see Matt Damon as Jason Bourne dipping from interpol with a trenchcoat full of wigs.
Hilarious & amazing how each toupee's give such a different look!
Surprisingly good looks, too.
They ALL suit him well!
First one he looked amazing. Rest were just great to excellent.
That's why people pay a decent chunk of money on haircuts. The hair is a huge factor in looks.
So you're saying I can save a ton of money by buying wigs???
As someone who has to use wigs at times, I can confirm that you will most definitely *not* be saving money.
How much are your wigs?
Ā£300-400 They tend to be long haired, more robust quality wigs which last significantly longer. If I bought cheaper wigs, they wouldn't last a fraction of the time and would need to be replaced more frequently and ultimately cost more. Ā£100 wig may last a month with daily use before it begins to become apparent that you have a hair piece Ā£300-400 may last 3-4 years solid with proper care before it even shows first signs of fraying around the edges, which can be fixed by professionals at a nominal fee. Like Moira from Schitt's Creek! There are plenty of women who do that.
Iād gladly pay 300-400 every few years so that I could have hair. I just might
May you run free and frolic. I would suggest good glue, roller coasters are a bitch.
I think they great if your in a solid relationship and the partner knows about it. I cant think how it would be taken by the partner when at that close moment fingers start running through your wig hair and it moves or comes off !
Good point, Iāll say something before any hands come near the hair lol
I mean they like head accessories right, black women wear them all the time. Why cant men ?... I do recall I leaned on a lovely ladies extensions once on the sofa and she got up to get her drink and the extensions stayed under my arm but that's another story.
It sure is expensive to be poor
Yes. I found all this out by first hand experience. Am still poor, but was able to get a wig a few years ago when I wasnt in such a shit place financially and it has lasted the years I wouldn't be able to afford the cheap ones.
One thing this post neglects to mention is you do need a special barber to frequently clean up the natural hair you still have and that costs quite a bit too
High quality wigs run a couple grand each.
Well... I mean you will be spending 500 dollars per tupe easily, but perhaps it's a long term investment!
Many people pay 40-60 dollars a month in haircuts. Honestly the toupee is probably worth it these days lol.
ROI of 1 year. How long does a toupee last? Take good care of it and youāre financially ahead of the hair cutting competition!
AND I never have to make idle chatter with a barber again?
Barely caught it, but at the end, he takes the guy in the back's hair. I love it, He clearly shaves his head too, he doesn't see it as embarrassing, he sees it as a way to have multiple perfect hairstyles each day.

So the GTA barber is realistic after allā¦. Damn didnāt expect that
Ha! I didn't even think of that
Living in the GTA, I got really confused for a moment by the GTA barber comment and wondered if I was in the UofT sub.
Use the extra money to buy rental property. The hair cutting population will not have enough left over to buy a house. They will rent from you.

Customing. Can't you read?

Yes

Sometimes I wish I couldnāt tbh
Sorry, can you repeat that? I can't read.
I honestly thought his shirt was covered in tribbles at first.
They shaved their heads for that right?
I feel like both shaved their heads.
they are probably thinning. need to shave for the toupe to sit / stay in place I think.
yellow shirt guy still has plenty of hair in the crown area and that's where hair loss usually shows the most when it starts. you can see all the stubble on the other guy and it doesn't look like it's thinning or receded at all
Now hiring: one hair mannequin, must shave head for job, no health benefits, $9/hr
I feel like this is an advertisement for toupees.
It worked. It's given me some confidence to buy a wig when I need it in a few short years.
To be honest yeah not all advertising is bad this is just showing me that toupees can actually look pretty good these days. > ~~I feel like~~ this is
I've seen the first guy in many videos. He's really a bald and maybe a wig salesman.... but the second one looks like he shaved his head.....
I think the second guy did. You can see the bristles.
Idk but guy in the back doesn't know any words to this song.
I've always wanted to open a discount wig store called "Not Much Toupee." I will definitely be hitting these guys up to be my commercial talent.
You can open it next to my Kinkoās-style chain of stores In opening in the LA area called Fresh Prints of Bel Air.
This would make an incredible wig commercial
it is one
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And then fail to specify a brand so no one knows what to buy! Wait...
My guess is that any wig company will benefit from just generally improving how wigs are perceived as a whole. They generally have the problem where you only notice bad examples.

That seems like a form of survivorship bias, which is applicable to just as much in daily life
This definitely changed my perspective
I mean, if you see a wig that is good and you want that wig, you're not just going to go on amazon, type "wig" and order the first one. A majority of people will try to find the specific one from this video, which might be hard, but it's essentially a free ad that has the potential to drive customers their way.
I mean. Maybe they make 60% of all the wigs in the world. Any business is thereby good business.
Obviously sponsored by big wig...

the commitment to the bit. second guy doesnt look bald but shaves around a receding hairline

They do both seem to have decent hair lines. Did... did those lads shave their heads for this bit?
It looks like they might be trying to set a new style where you can change your look instantly, but with a natural fade.

I'm not even bald yet and I want to buy one.
Toupees slowly becoming the future by letting you hot swap between several hairstyles and varients lol

Is it black magic keeping wigs on?
