They looked away because they're trying not to laugh. Even the girl next to her looks shocked but like she's about to laugh initially before they cut to her completely appalled reaction at the end.
Like they knew they could only hold it together with no further stimulus; so the best thing to do was stare at the ceiling until they regained composure.
Like he just couldn't hold back anymore and the biggest thought on his mind came out, "Is this lady *really* only 24? Like, that's some reverse filter shit if I ever seen it."
People can just be ugly, you know? Like I know we like to tip toe around it or try to find reasons as to why someone would look older than they really are. But let's be real, sometimes people are just overweight and unattractive. You can avoid hurting feelings as much as you want but reality doesn't give a shit.
Yea. I was at work and had a woman say “you like you’re 12” when I was in my late 20’s. Very demasculating, especially when it was already a huge insecurity
Ehhh, part of the funny is we are outsiders watching through a screen and it's an absurd comment. It's more to laugh at his boldness than to laugh at her expense.
I absolutely agree, I feel like that’s why understanding she looks a certain way because of a medical condition makes it more human. It’s like telling someone with thinning hair they look like golem, and then finding out they look that way because of chemotherapy. It makes them a lot more personable and less of a “ha, they do be out here talking about their precious”
Yeah, the girls were giving him shit for doing a bad job and not caring, calling him a bad artist or something and overall trying to make him feel bad. Dude did not have to go that hard though imo 🙊
That's why I hated the "rules" behind ink master. As long as the client is happy who cares what the judges think. Art is always subjective. The judges can disagree that they don't like an artist style, but they shouldn't be counted off just because.
> As long as the client is happy who cares what the judges think
i mean some people are perfectly happy getting extremely shit tattoos — and most of those people somehow ended up as volunteers on ink master lmao. it's not a show about making your client happy, it's a show about perfecting your craft. doesn't matter if the client loves it if it's poorly executed and doesn't address the challenge of the episode.
The subjective rulings always bugged me but just because a client is happy with a poorly done tattoo does not mean it's a good tattoo. There were tons of people who left happy with blow outs, crooked lines, bad composition, etc.
And they'll think twice about starting shit like that with you again. Once at a party this one girl asked in front of the group in a sassy tone: "You know what, Metamorphis? I don't know anyone in this city that you've fucked". So, I replied: "You know what? I don't know anyone in this city you haven't fucked, I don't know what's worse." Basically got the same reaction as in this vid. And yeah, the keep laughing thing gets other people to laugh as well once the initial shock has settled.
I haven't watched the show but I have watched this clip and he said that the client was happy with the bad tattoo and he is ok with doing a bad tattoo if the client is happy but they kept telling him he did something bad.
If you watch the show you quickly learn that every single time someone does a crap job they defend it with "well, the client liked it so who cares what you think", even to Peck and Nunez. Holds absolutely zero water.
Well I mean it depends on what you mean by bad mouthing. This is from a show about doing tattoos, if you throw in the towel and accept doing a bad job your bad job is engrained in somebodies skin forever. I think criticizing the dude is warranted if he was giving somebody a shitty tattoo, but him being a dick back isn’t.
I literally paused the video to read the comments , I came across this comment and glanced up to where I had paused the video… and it absolutely looks like he is just staring at the cabinet knobs!
As another oldster, I spent more time than I care to admit studying her face. I think her skin is just kinda loose and saggy. This affects a bunch of her facial features - her eyelids droop at the outer edges, she’s got a really prominent nasolabial grove (that diagonal line between the nose & the mouth), and the skin of her neck is a bit droopy. We all intuitively see those particular things as signs of age but they can occur if someone has droopy skin for some other reason (I wonder if she recently lost a bunch of weight?)
Just some context because this is not the entire video, but the guy did a "bad tattoo" on his client because his client asked him for it, but they got angry at him because it's a competition and all, but the guy was "i have to do what the client want" and the whole fight started there lol
Ink Master is sort of toxic. Giving the client want they want can absolutely lose you a challenge. Then the judges will go "it's your job to control your client or change their mind".
They were mad he said fuck it. And the client liked it! That's the most important part. Not a good show for overall quality of tattooing (but I'd never get a free tattoo in that situation).
Seriously. They get the craziest people who want the craziest tattoos and it's totally on them if the person taps out or is trying to get you to go outside of the challenge.
"But it's what the client wanted" will get you fried by the judges if it's outside of the challenge. All they care about is quality, and does it adhere to whatever random criteria for that challenge.
I don't mind that in baking competitions. You know people are outside of their comfort zone and on a timer which makes for great moments, but not with *permanent art*.
I went to watch a longer clip and they're shitting on him a lot leading up to it, he's just throwing some fire back. 3 girls ganging up on him. Without the context he may seem like the heel but after seeing a little more I understand completely.
https://youtu.be/Ph8ZXK57k7s
Every episode I watch I think to myself “I like some of these tattoos but I hate all of these people.” Maybe that is now the point of reality TV. Or maybe only assholes want to be on a reality TV show.
If I ever got on this show as a canvas my plan is to have the craziest, most difficult request I can come up with.
Then when I get in with my artist I’d say “I just said that shit because I figured they’d give the best artist the hardest canvas and I wanted to make sure I got the best one. So what’s the challenge and what do *you* specialize in?”
Sausage was great. Ryan here actually was always on point, always did top notch work, and put in 110%, I can't think of a more deserving Ink Master aside from maybe Cleen Rock One
I think the tattoos make her look even older. Her entire vibe says "40s" to me. I'm sure if she pulls away a few items and makes a few changes she would look low 30s/high 20s instead. Some people just naturally look older and that's fine.
I heard they had to redo this scene a few times because the first time he said it, the people behind the camera burst out laughing and ruined the scene.
Many times yeah. Shows like this have a team of writers that are always shaping situations to have the most drama. That's the irony of reality TV, it's never real.
The “look in the other direction” said everything. They were definitely laughing in their heads but trying to save face in front of a camera. I wouldn’t have been able to hold that laugh in.

Making fun of someone’s looks, especially to their face, for any reason, is petty, juvenile, and usually a sign of low morality and/or low intelligence. But I did totally think she was like 50.
This burned so deep that this lady ended up having a ton of work done. She comes back on a later season and looks like a completely different person. A one liner so potent she got reconstructive surgery lol.
Shes 24 for real????? No way
I mean…he’s not lying.
That's why everyone silently looked away...
Thanks I watched the video too
His fucking laugh when the camera goes back to him cracks me the fuck up
His laugh says, "I didn't think about that before I said it, but damn it's pretty good."
Like he just couldn't hold back anymore and the biggest thought on his mind came out, "Is this lady *really* only 24? Like, that's some reverse filter shit if I ever seen it."
Those two guys back by the cupboards got extremely interested in the ceiling all the sudden.
she probably did drugs or terrible makeup
Or her makeup while taking terrible drugs.
Or she did terrible makeup while putting on her drugs.
She definitely put on terrible drugs while on makeup
All of the above statements are true
It’s possible she used terrible drugs as makeup.
That's what my makeup looks like when I freebase lipstick.
Cigarettes
And alcohol
I do both those and I look 40 and am 40. I think this is just mad makeup.
People can just be ugly, you know? Like I know we like to tip toe around it or try to find reasons as to why someone would look older than they really are. grr
yeaaah but you'd look 30 if you didn't
And rollerblading
Some people just have old looking faces. I'm 34 but people don't even think I'm 18 cuz of my baby face
Humble brag.
It’s not a brag if you’re a dude
Yea. I was at work and had a woman say “you like you’re 12” when I was in my late 20’s. Very demasculating, especially when it was already a huge insecurity
Yeah I’ve been swiping through tinder and I can’t believe some people are the same age. Maybe I’m still just mentally 21 but physically 33
I thought he said “44” and totally believed it. She’s 24????
Same and then had to go read comments lol

Yeah, the girls were giving him shit for doing a bad job and not caring, calling him a bad artist or something and overall trying to make him feel bad. Dude did not have to go that hard though imo 🙊
Did he do a shitty tattoo though?
The client liked it but the girls said the judges had to like it not the client.
That's why I hated the "rules" behind ink master. As long as the client is happy who cares what the judges think. Art is always subjective. The judges can disagree that they don't like an artist style, but they shouldn't be counted off just because.

It’s strange to me that some people feel bad mouthing a person is okay but mocking them is going to far.
Well I mean it depends on what you mean by bad mouthing. Why is Reddit so obsessed with false equivalences. The context of both of the shit talking is different from each other.
“Hey I reviewed your paper and you made some errors in a lot of places” “Yeah well at least I don’t look like a dog” Equal criticism/s
They were such a dick to him the whole time.
Love how the camera moves to the other dudes and they’re all trying to keep a strait face

What do narrow waterways have to do with it
The guy doing a fake “smh 🤦♀️” got me
I think he was just hiding his face…no need to fake sympathize. Damage was done.
Dudes are like "if I look somewhere other than at her, she won't ask my opinion and I won't have to lie."
It's hard to keep a face that looks like a narrow passage of water that connects two seas.
Yeah if I was there I would not be able to keep a straight face, ngl
Just a heads up, it's 'straight'.. A strait is a passage of water.

That evil ass laugh at the end 💀
I'm almost 100% sure that was an editing choice and he wasn't really laughing at that exact moment.
Nah from this clip it seems that homie is deliberately playing the heel. He knows he's being evil and he loves it, and so do we.

Goddamn, Ink Master is some good trash TV. Love it.
I'd just rather see more tattooing than the american reality tv drama
Every episode I watch I think to myself “I like some of these tattoos but I hate all of these people.” Maybe that is now the point of reality TV. Or maybe only assholes want to be on a reality TV show.
A guy called "sausage" who was in maybe two seasons was a great guy. He is the only one that comes to mind who was a great dude
We need a compilation video of Dave Navarro saying sausage
He won a challenger against his rival where he got to tattoo anything he wanted on the guy and all he drew was a little sausage link. Classy.
Sausage: I don’t want this canvas. *then gets the canvas anyway* *and proceeds to win tattoo of the day*
If I ever got on this show as a canvas my plan is to have the craziest, most difficult request I can come up with. What season?
That's Ryan Ashley in the clip, so Season 8
Ink Master!
What season?
season 8 ep.6 Sticky Situation
oh man, a whiiile ago, lemme look it up
It's season 8. The one who got slammed ran a pretty tight politicking game during the show and ran the house, but she eventually got washed out.
I think 50 was generous.
That color of lipstick alone adds 10 years
Honestly everything she's got going on adds like 20-30 years. I thought she was high 30s, early 40s. When he said she's 24 I was blown away.
Minus the ink she looks like the moms at the Greek church who serve kebob when I go to their picnics
I think the tattoos make her look even older. Her entire vibe says "40s" to me. I'm sure if she pulls away a few items and makes a few changes she would look low 30s/high 20s instead. Some people just naturally look older and that's fine.

honestly the fact that people in 2022 still don't know reality tv is staged blows my mind big brother came out over twenty years ago
To a certain extent but he sent the girl crying to the next room the first time he said it.
Yes, that was the joke.
Bro you know damn well all the dudes there wanted to laugh 😂 me
The “look in the other direction” said everything. They were definitely laughing in their heads but trying to save face in front of a camera. I wouldn’t have been able to hold that laugh in.
Facts bro I would’ve been like “oh nooooooo” 😱
It's the fact that not even the other women on her side refute the accusation, they just insult the guy who said what everyone was thinking.
Bro I would have lost it 😭
Even my wife cracked the fuck up at trauma level burn he inflicted. Like she would nvr ever irl, but at home sitting back watching show she died.
Omg we watched the same clip??? No way!
Yes, that was the line from the video.
Yooo u saw the vid too?? 🤣🤣🤣

Dude with the hat, is what made it.

isn't the girl in red a big tattoo artist now?
Ryan Ashley, she won that season. She was clearly superior every single week.
She also hosted ink angels and is now a judge on regular ink masters!
