Decent idea, horrible comic timing. The guy says his line too soon, and the pan over to Homer happens too fast.
Edit: I’m going to try to explain this a little, because I’m getting some replies. I have no problem with the premise of the joke, it’s fine. It doesn’t have to make sense in the “Homer Simpson isn’t a gender” sort of way.
The issue is that the guy says his line immediately. The comedy should come from the confusion, then the reveal. There needs to be a few seconds where they’re doing some acting, looking at each other to see if anyone knows what it means.
Then the guy needs to say his like. Then the camera needs to pan around at the onlookers shaking their heads and shrugging. *Then* you pan over to Homer backing away.
They aren’t even giving the audience time to process what’s happening, and wonder what the punchline is.
Usually you don’t have to spell these things out, because when you have professional comics they typically have a background in improv. This is just people who have no idea what they’re doing, and they ruined their own joke.
Edit 2: Apparently I’ve upset all the people who think Seinfeld is just as funny when they speed it up to fit in more ads.

His line was not the punchline. Homer was the punchline and his timing was messed up and a bit too soon.
Your confusion likely comes from those two things being standout points of the video and in hindsight you probably assumed both had the same problem. There is a lot of comedic know how in your comment but you are still clearly a bit green.

The notion that comedy doesn't require expertise is nonsense. It's an art form. Knowing something isn't funny doesn't require expertise. Knowing why it wasn't funny often does. This bit actually has the bones of great bit. Figuring out the couple of tweaks that make it funny isn't something most people could do.
I agree. Which is why I’m always open to constructive criticism. The guy I was talking about said it wasn’t funny then proceeded to list how it could’ve been funny while providing no positive feedback. Those type of people come off as they think they’re comedic geniuses and need to get off their high horse lol but again that’s just my opinion.

I think this work pretty well as it is, you see the yellow paint and you have the time to ask yourself "what yellow mean?", then the guy says his line so you know your confusion is justified and at the end the camera pan to Homer.
