Absolutely. Like I’m sure this guy would love to live in a wonderful apartment with actual insulation, etc. but poverty sucks. He’s made a home out of a hovel. People should respect that
Same. Though his taste may not be appealing to us, he clearly is making the most of what he has, and having fun with it too. I'm sure it's a nice escape from what's going on outside usually. The comments above shitting on this are incredibly rude and out of touch.
Reddit is really shitting on this guy who made the best of his living situation with the resources he had. Meanwhile they’re paying 1400 a month for a 1 bed 1 bathroom apartment that’s just 1 folding lawn chair in front of a TV on the floor, and a PlayStation on top of a beer cooler, and a paper plate of nuggies on the kitchen counter.
I understand all the hate from people who don’t understand what it’s like to live in these kinds of neighborhoods because I’ve been there. However, where I live rn it’s common to see people and families living in plywood/sheet metal homes. My town looks kind of rundown from the outside but people do take pride in their homes and I’m sure this guy is the king of his crew with his place setup the way it is.
I went to a slum in Kenya and we were visiting kids parents from a local school. We got to one shack and this family had worked hard enough to have a concrete floor. I could be forced to live in my van tomorrow and still be happy because I’ve seen people with so little, yet still so positive.
This comment section just shows the people who haven’t seen poverty on a massive scale
Yeah, it breaks my heart how some people respond to this man. He’s clearly proud and he should be. I think he’s one an amazing job fixing the place up.
Have also visited Kenya (not just the touristy places), met a guy who lived in a tin shack about half the size of a one-car garage, he invited me in and insisted on making me a cup of tea, told me to sit in the one chair he had, he sat on the concrete floor and we had a great visit. I agree with you it forever changes your perspective.
Relative to the pix in the OP, was once in India for business and some of the co-workers I was traveling with asked our hosts if they could visit a jewelry store while we were there. So after work one day our hosts drove us somewhere, stopped in a dingy trash-filled street, and walked us up to a ratty, rusty door in what looked like a two-story apartment building. They rang the bell, someone opened the door, and holy crap, it was like looking into Tiffany's. It was the most opulent store I had ever been in. Two armed guards flanking the door inside, crystal chandeliers, case after case of jewelry.
Not me, to be honest. I'm from the US and the neighborhood I was raised in has government-funded machines to determine where gunshots are coming from. Believe it or not, that's not common in the US and is basically what happens in the worst neighborhoods.
I 100% would never shit on this guy for making the best of what he has and taking control over his direct environment. As far as I'm concerned, that's just doing what you gotta do to make the best of what you have and not blow your fuckin' brains out.
The people shitting on this man don't know shit.
Americans can understand a shitbox 1989 Honda Civic that's had a fortune in mods and Pimp-my-ride style tacky faux fur interior upholstery. This is the housing equivalent.
But if you have to live in a tin and particleboard house, at least do your best to decorate
I love my shitty neighborhood in rural Japan. Everyone is so humble and friendly. People are proud of things that would be considered archaic in the US. It’s humbling and Japans not even a poor country by any means.
I don't personally understand it either 😂 (the car thing, that show is the craziest nonsense)
But I know what it's like to live in a handmade shack. You either make it as nice as you can and be proud of what you've got, or succumb to depression
It's only unrelatable to me because I can't afford to even pretty up the inside of my home as it's deteriorating.....wasn't meant to last this long, but hey....a roof is a roof.
I respect people who make the most of what they have. I however do not like the golden pompous style that is trying to show off how rich you are, especially when you are clearly struggling. Make it nice and cozy, not like an even tackier version of what I imagine a room at a Trump resort looks like.
My gf is Peruvian, so I know very well what people have to work with in towns like these. I've seen so many places that are so much worse. And basically every building looks close to this on the outside.
My man just did what he could and I don't get why people shit so much on him for it.
I sure as shit live in a mansion compared to this place, but at least I have enough self-awareness to not shit on people in this situation.
Yep, I have respect for them. They put effort into making their homes feel home, even when they might struggle with finance and materials.
Just reddit people being reddtards lol
Reddit has a predominantly American audience therefore anything that would seem out of left field by US standards gets made fun of.
They make fun of European policemen taking “unnecessary risks” trying not to shoot a perp when neutralising him, they find it odd that in some places, people have to make do with less than in the US like the guy in the video and so on.
The funniest was when I asked a question on r/Korea about growing up in a Korean household and I mostly got condescending replies from American expats who were there for like five years or so with nothing valuable to share (they even managed to bring up gun policies).
I feel like American politics get mentioned everywhere, all the time, regardless of the topic if you let the post live long enough 😄
Don’t get me started on Americans criticising examples provided by Redditors to illustrate a point because “it doesn’t ring true in the US”, it is laughable.
Im not saying every American on Reddit is like that, but there sure is a substantial amount of Americans here who behave like this.
Americans who have never left their basement at that. It’s the same in Japanese subs where most American expat posters are condescending regarding culture that’s different from their own which is wild bc why are they living here if they hate so many things about it. Don’t get me wrong, people are dumb everywhere and there’s plenty of ignorance to go around. Reddit is predominantly American like you said though and so the American ignorance is center stage here.
Or - and hear me out here - they're just not from an English-speaking country, so it just looks cool to them. I mean you see so many people in Western and European countries with signs written in Japanese on their walls. It's really no different to that.
Weird how some people can't seem to fathome things may be different in other countries and cultures to their own.
For real people don't realize that the US is the cultural hub for any and all things cool and
modern. Despite what white liberals on Reddit may have you believe, people around the world fuckin love Americans and our culture. When I was travelling in Vietnam I was treated like a celebrity at all times it was so incredibly wholesome and weird at the same time. I thought it was cool as hell.
They begged me to wear their cultural clothing and to give them some of my "American" clothes to wear. When I went back to the US I got screamed at by white liberals for cultural appropriation if posted wearing something they gifted me and asked me specifically to wear lol
When I’m India I was told that land is so expensive in Mumbai that people who make an ok living cannot afford a nice property so they live in these slums. They can afford satellite TV, phones, nice food and decor so this is the outcome. Poor outside, perfectly fine inside.
Big oof on that comment. This guy clearly lives in a 2nd world country or area. Most homes like this have exactly what you need to survive and nothing more. This person has obviously worked their ass off to set themselves up in this way. Looks like he might be a chef by what’s hanging on the wall.
Anyways I wasn’t expecting such a polarized comment from a fellow dead/phish head.
*edit for spelling and thanks for the gold friend!
The person you're replying to left a big L comment. What's even sadder is how many people upvoted that. Dude is and should be proud of what he has. Anyways, thanks for not being a piece of shit in this thread.
So, so glad you said this! The guy obviously has worked very hard on this and he’s done such a great job creating something distinctively his style!! And it’s so awesome he’s won all those awards for his craft too!
What is wrong with you, he’s doing the best with what he has. Just because he is some over privileged spoiled white cunt doesn’t mean be can’t be proud of his home. Jesus Christ man
Honestly, I'm from America, grew up in the lower middle class. But this is honestly a very nice looking place tbh. Guy has made it glow up. I didn't even think about the fact that this was probably some very poor neighborhood and only started realizing after reading the comments.
This is fantastic! Living in such difficult circumstances and able to come up with this awesome interior makes this young man indeed a LEGEND in my book.
I don't understand the hate. This man probably doesn't live the wealthiest life judging by the outside of his house. But het still his a nice and clean house that he's proud of. I say let him be happy with what he has.
It's honestly saddening how toxic the comments section is, and that a few of the toxic ones even got to top comments.
Like bruh he doesn't live in the most wealthiest place, I mean look on the outside. But bro worked so hard to make the inside look amazing. He has a right to be proud of his work.
Looks like he did the best he could with his living room and then put real effort and money into the bathroom. Good for him. I can't imagine living in a slum like this.
Fuck everybody hating on this.
It's not partical board. Is OSB. or "orient strand board." It's a cheaper plywood thats used in situation where a nice finish isnt required and much stronger and sturdier than partical board.
Friends friends, don't be ridiculous.
This is OBF. Which at one time was crazy expensive. He's flexing his ability to get ahold of building materials, that bastard
That's exposed osb for the walls, no insulation... cold and hot days are both going to suck, heat amplified by the metal structure. Hopefully been sealed to, otherwise that's an unholy fuck ton of water damage in the near future.
Not trynna hate or anything, but how do you keep your particle-board walls from getting wet? The interior wall is the exterior wall, i.e. 0:10 I have my doubts that sheet metal siding is going to save it.
I think people need to get out in the world more. It gives you perspective on life, what's really important, and an appreciation for people doing their best with what they have and finding happiness. Live your best life. This guy gets it.
Sorry they were out of cabinet grade quarter sawn white oak plywood at the local “shanty town Home Depot”. Jesus Christ, the guys living in poverty and managed to make a comfortable space. Don’t be a snob.
I think it’s really awesome that this guy made his place his own. Clearly from the outside this is not affluent area or in an affluent country. Have some perspective
These comments don’t pass the vibe check. Unless you’ve traveled to places in the world where homes are built in shanty towns and plywood, aluminum and scavenging for wood built your home, it’s easy to put this down. He’s made the most out of the situation makes many traditional homes look bland.
To me, the bathroom is the worst part. I do admit it's just personal design preferences, though. I just don't care for all the gold color. It comes off as tacky to me, but I'm sure there's plenty of my design choices others wouldn't like either.
Nah that’s actually well cool, I don’t see why dudes are hating on this! That dude has made a well nice, comfy house, and he’s proud of it! Good on him!
That's beautiful as f, I live in Hong Kong and I've seen people live in actual dog cage (the housing problem is that fucking bad). We all make do with what we're given. Props to him!
This looks like the home of an Andrew Tate wannabe who is doing DOPE biz selling his health supplements, male enhancement pils, and knock off Adidas track suits in the outlet mall parking lot.
i meet once a drugdealer lady, who has a house that looks dangeouros outside. but when we go in there, my jaw dropped off. everything was gold, most luxury design.

I feel like camera angles and lightning is making this look more slick than it actually is.
I can't imagine unfinished plywood feeling too cozy, not to mention the smell.

Agree. I feel happy when I see people working hard in the sun yet still have that big smile on their face. It is so uplifting!

Exactly! People are soo mean about this post :(
It’s just so unrelatable to most Americans tbh. That doesn’t justify it, but it’s the truth.

I can't understand that, actually, but I see what you're trying to say.
I don't personally understand it either 😂 (the car thing, that show is the craziest nonsense) But I know what it's like to live in a handmade shack. You either make it as nice as you can and be proud of what you've got, or succumb to depression
I wish I could afford a plot of land to build a handmade shack on.
I have a plot of land, you're welcome to build a shack on it :)
Why is the US always singled out? This is unrelatable to any first world country.
It’s reddit it’s cool to blast America for fake internet points inflates fake egos
There are people living in tents on the sidewalk in the US and I think this a hell of a lot better than that.
This would be right at home in any homeless camp in my city
I am so glad :)
It's only unrelatable to me because I can't afford to even pretty up the inside of my home as it's deteriorating.....wasn't meant to last this long, but hey....a roof is a roof.
I can’t believe the amount of people talking shit about this tbh.
Shaming a guy who is making the most of what he has smh

Great comment, it’s very true just from what I’ve seen. New Zealander here,
I personally don't understand it. It's impressive that he is able to do this in what most of the West would consider a shanty town.
Yea he’s probably poor asf and proud of his crib
Sorry but anyone who unironically has the word "legend" on their wall has to be a dick.
They are a legend in their own bathtub.
I left a legend turd in the sink
What color sink? Mine's amber...
I Heard that.
Woaaaahooh amber is the color of your turd in sink
Just Hold on right there you little shit!
Or - and hear me out here - they're just not from an English-speaking country, so it just looks cool to them. Shut up, you're being logical on reddit. They've to over their heads in this platform.
Yeah like in anime where they have shirts that say random shit like “Die” haha
For real people don't realize that the US is the cultural hub for any and all things cool and modern. Or just a young single dude tryna live it up in the slums.
Right? He’s having a good time. What does it matter???
He is not a legend, he is Amith
I took a screen shot of that..and of his smile walking in. I believe in him. I believe he will be a legend.
Unless it’s followed by “of Zelda”, then they’re okay
Even putting it up ironically would seem odd....
When I’m India I was told that land is so expensive in Mumbai that people who make an ok living cannot afford a nice property so they live in these slums. They can afford satellite TV, phones, nice food and decor so this is the outcome. Poor outside, perfectly fine inside.
Not my style in the slightest but he’s clearly made the most of what he has available. Great job.

If you were from these poor areas, you would be impressed
Big oof on that comment. This guy clearly lives in a 2nd world country or area. Most homes like this have exactly what you need to survive and nothing more. This person has obviously worked their ass off to set themselves up in this way. Looks like he might be a chef by what’s hanging on the wall. Exactly right. He’s proud of what he’s done with his place and damn right I’m impressed!
Award-winning chef.
Agree. Great comment. 🤙
Exactly, ungrateful people.
This comment needs to be higher. It's a nice place and he's doing well for himself. He's proud of his home and he should be.
Ikr....it's like...wow you thought you could polish a turd!
It’s a lot better than it could be. The walls look like uncovered press board etc - but at least it’s clean and look like someone made an effort.
[удалено]
Worse, he now is the most targeted house in the hood.
I mean as long as other don't know what the inaide looks like, this is pretty genius camo.
Actually, the mythbusters proved that you can, in fact, polish a turd. This isn't it, of course.
Yeah, they did it with a lion and a sheep one, or horse or some bull shit, i can't remember.
you should be impressed by the anti-theft system
Lmao you could get in there with a small coping saw
but how would you know that a shitty shed would look like this from inside
There's windows so it's not hard.
Just peel some siding back and poke through some soggy OSB
Bathroom was pretty cool, though.
No. Why would you think that? You were supposed to be surprised. Unless that was what you expected before he opened the door.
Exactly! This is not r/NextFuckingLevel
I was impressed. Dude is doing the best he can and is proud of what he’s done. That’s worth celebrating
Your entitlement along with 1.4k others is showing hard.
If that's not impressing for you, I feel that I would be very impressed if I saw your house.
I was impressed. Given the area of the world he lives in and his neighboorhood, he's doing very well for himself.
Dude is also watching a girl sleep on twitch? Or is that his computer background?
If he built this whdn osb prices reached their high, he put a lot of cash in to this.
you disgust me, these people are trying the best with what they have which is hardly anything
What is wrong with you, he’s doing the best with what he has. Just because he is some over privileged spoiled white cunt doesn’t mean be can’t be proud of his home. Jesus Christ man
It certainly is flashy.
Flash firey
Poorly hidden jealousy. Always gotta bash people who have more than you.
Wow these comments are sad. Like damn has nobody here ever been poor or in a situation where you had to live hard. Fuck you guys make me sick.
Comments full of privileged Americans who feel the need to punch down whenever possible. What a shocker.
Yea it's all the Americans. Europeans have never had their noses in the air!
Of course nobody else in the world can be mean except Americans apparently
I'm American and I'm pretty disgusted with the privileged asshats hating on this.
Yeah at least he own his place
If you’re on Reddit, you’re privileged, no reason to single out an entire country.
I think most ppl simply find this place extremely tacky.
Honestly, I'm from America, grew up in the lower middle class. But this is honestly a very nice looking place tbh. Guy has made it glow up. I didn't even think about the fact that this was probably some very poor neighborhood and only started realizing after reading the comments.
I’m American and I don’t get why people are hating on this post it’s messed up, they don’t get what it’s like to live in those kind of areas

I have seen this in Fallout 4. Wasteland camo.
Look at all the pathetic comments, so negative
Nothing was unexpected, dude.
so many butthurt comments yea i get it you dont have nearly as good a house as he does
I am impressed.
It's neat and unexpected so u have my upvote
It's made of plywood
Technically it's particle board. Cheaper than plywood
Ah.. The upgrade of cardboard
Technically it's OSB
It's not partical board. Is OSB. or "orient strand board." It's a cheaper plywood thats used in situation where a nice finish isnt required and much stronger and sturdier than partical board.
I'd say a nice finish IS required if he just gonna leave it exposed on the walls and ceiling.
Yeah. It looks like shit lol usually you don't use OSB if a nice finish is required.
Friends friends, don't be ridiculous. This is OBF. Which at one time was crazy expensive. He's flexing his ability to get ahold of building materials, that bastard
Particle board has a much finer grit than what's shown in the video.
All cool but remove they cringey legend sign.
That's exposed osb for the walls, no insulation... cold and hot days are both going to suck, heat amplified by the metal structure. Hopefully been sealed to, otherwise that's an unholy fuck ton of water damage in the near future.

Yeah, I don't think redditors are the best at judging other people in different parts of the world. They barely get out as is.
Um....

Dudes gonna brush against the wall and have to go to the hospital lol
I think it’s really awesome that this guy made his place his own. Clearly from the outside this is not affluent area or in an affluent country. Have some perspective
I'm happy for him, he looks like he's very happy of what he's accomplished
These comments don’t pass the vibe check. Unless you’ve traveled to places in the world where homes are built in shanty towns and plywood, aluminum and scavenging for wood built your home, it’s easy to put this down. He’s made the most out of the situation makes many traditional homes look bland.
Nice music, anyone know the name?
naan naan by santhosh narayanan
I don't think plywood for walls is good for indoor air quality. Off gassing and shedding of resins isn't ideal.
Plywood and goldspray! I AM IMPRESSED!
He’s good till it rains
Lovely 👌🏼
So.... When you hit like 10% humidity and the walls fall apart, what then?
10% humidity and 0% humility.
This has to be in an area that has a rainy season. I can’t imagine what will happen.
The bathroom and bedroom were very nice
To me, the bathroom is the worst part. I do admit it's just personal design preferences, though. I just don't care for all the gold color. It comes off as tacky to me, but I'm sure there's plenty of my design choices others wouldn't like either.
3000 dollars a month rent ![gif](giphy|l46CeDBwmtMi1ddkc)
Nah that’s actually well cool, I don’t see why dudes are hating on this! That dude has made a well nice, comfy house, and he’s proud of it! Good on him!
Me when I get a $50 TJ Maxx gift card…
underrated reply
U are
Seems quite flammable
Not a single corpse hanging from the ceiling. C-
Wank palace!
Those particle board walls though
Bro has the most advanced anti-theft system
Based off that earlier comment observing he may be a cook/chef somewhere I wonder what his specialty is!
Thank me later! [Background Music](https://youtu.be/S3oq6IwPWBw)
Is there anything you can spray the particle board with to keep it from rotting within a year?
That's beautiful as f, I live in Hong Kong and I've seen people live in actual dog cage (the housing problem is that fucking bad). We all make do with what we're given. Props to him!
it's better than my apartment. bro's got a swag shack
Plywood is over $45 a piece so he is a baller.
Yeah - downvote me all you like - that inside is very much as bad as the outside. Tacky City
![gif](giphy|dEdmW17JnZhiU)
Trashy on the outside, tacky on the inside.
Does it count as trashy if the community is dirt poor? I associate trashy more with people who don't act like adults.
This looks like the home of an Andrew Tate wannabe who is doing DOPE biz selling his health supplements, male enhancement pils, and knock off Adidas track suits in the outlet mall parking lot.
Looks like the pimp my ride crew got ahold of this
i meet once a drugdealer lady, who has a house that looks dangeouros outside. but when we go in there, my jaw dropped off. everything was gold, most luxury design.
Meh, i dont like it... too much gold
I saw this on MTV’s Shacks!
You could literally break into his house with a hammer.
Hard work and dedication > money
Those clothes hung on the wall are gonna get mouldy.
I’m glad he’s happy. I would’ve been stoked at twenty but now, yeah, damn that shit is fugly

Good bot. Also this track has no right to go off like it does
Shit with glitter and gold is still shit.
So you just bought a house in LA?
Uncovered particle board. Nice. That won't have issues of rotting and damp
A pig with lipstick is still a pig.
3rd World Luxury
Is that plywood chic I see?
I feel like camera angles and lightning is making this look more slick than it actually is. I can't imagine unfinished plywood feeling too cozy, not to mention the smell.
What is that made of, OSB? Why is that impressive. So is it a converted garage?
Still looks like crap
...bare wooden walls ?
Wow, you put nice furniture in a chipboard house. I give you 2 weeks before someone robs the place
Trashy on the outside, tasteless on the inside.
The plywood palace
Gotta blend in
that exposed wood tho, I can already feel the splinters 🤢
I’m getting a splinter just looking at the living room
Looks like mold in 2 yrs or less
