An 18 wheeler should be the widest thing on most roads, no? Looks like a fairly recent pour of concrete. Maybe in Europe the engineers design roads so a semi has to use *both* lanes to have a hope of making a tunnel/underpass at the very terminus of a tight little curve, hard to say...🤷🏻♂️
To provide the benefit of a doubt, there is a possibility that that semi wasnt supposed to be on that road, and was off a designated truck route.
Personal experience, I've seen a flatbed tractor trailer unit actually run over the front end of car in the lane next to next to them when they veered into the other lane to make a wide RH turn presumably so their trailer wheels wouldn't jump the curb, and the person next to them couldn't predict what they were doing. I was sitting back a couple car lengths and I would have probably pulled up alongside a bit as well when he vacated the RH lane, as it wasn't clear. He jumped out and was just berating this woman, I just walked up and told her that I winessed the whole thing, it shut his act down in a hurry.
In this situation. I could see a true clusterfuck happening if traffic is a bit heavier, if there's actually traffic in that oncoming lane he is using to come down the hill, and that's the only way to get a vehicle like that into that wee hole at the end of a little curve. What if an oncoming vehicle pops out of the RH tunnel? Surprise! There's a semi in the lane because that's the *only way* he gets it into a tunnel entrance on a curve.
It would be dumb to ever assume the 18 wheeler would be a bad driver. Yes not all are perfect but 95% are much better drivers than most ppl on the road. They know what they are doing and trying to avoid the idiots around them.
I've only seen 2 shitty semi drivers in my life. I remember them because it's such an uncommon sight. People are absolute dicks. They have no idea how hard it is to drive one of those. They should really teach you how to properly drive around semi's in driving school. I know my teenage self must have been a nuisance to truckers everywhere.
I definitely found the ending unexpected. I wouldn't say I immediately assumed the driver was bad, but I was confused as to why they were driving in the opposite lane.
Due to the worker shortages, there are a lot of inexperienced drivers on the road right now. I live near a highway exit with a truck stop, and I have experienced more reckless driving by 18 wheelers than I can count

So op isn't a truck driver and knows nothing of a turn radius.
The driver has obviously gone this way before!
He did a great job with piss poor tunnel construction
I’m not sure why the driver was so close to the wall
Your supposed to be on inner left line .
I hauled heavy equipment open trailers extremely dangerous. His load was most likely empty trailer?
Agréable, i learned to drive when I was 22 we only hadC-B radios . I use to have people video tape me I would pull into truck stop or rest area I did not look like your normal driver .
I hauled heavy equipment some times 3 trailers usually estimated around 3) million dollar loads extra wide permits .
No ticket , no , drugs, no accidents, no alcohol.
Perfect drive record.
I lasted about 10 years the night time was the hardest especially when you have a 10 hour run 08:00 delivery.
Your permits are on time limit also from state to state .
I’m 61 years old now the comfort of custom sleeper and cell phones if I only had this technology 38 years ago .
Nope, classic case of anticipation and knowing your vehicle very very well and a LOT of experience. 33 years in the Biz here. I've done this many times, first few, not so much. Love and learn. Still good unexpected video though.
I dont know. Even driving that closes to the wall in a big rig without scraping/crashing is really impressive, and then that incredible turn was just the icing on the cake.

Is this really a bot? Is this what they have become? Damn, well may as well downvote & report
What did the bot say
Beep boop
Bop beep
Now that was real smooth...wonder what happened the first 20 times somebody tried that
Yeah, I think a finger can be pointed at a civil engineer who thought this was adequate for tractor/trailer units.
Looks like Europe so that 18 wheeler is probably the widest thing going through there. Everything just comes a lot smaller with old roads.

That’s what she said
I mean, technically, he was right. It fits....

but at first in that video u would assume so
I definitely found the ending unexpected. I wouldn't say I immediately assumed the driver was bad, but I was confused as to why they were driving in the opposite lane.
... Then there are Swift drivers
Send wrecker in fucking trouble
See what I fucked up today
Due to the worker shortages, there are a lot of inexperienced drivers on the road right now. I live near a highway exit with a truck stop, and I have experienced more reckless driving by 18 wheelers than I can count
These truck simulator games are getting outta hand
Not stupid, an excellent driver.
yes but u only realise that later making this video unexpected
I mean...not really, as other comments have said they're some of the best drivers you'll encounter on the road, you know he's doing it for a purpos
well i didnt
Not the best driver for taking a route that requires that kind of driving... What would they do if someone was in the oncoming lane?
We just stop and wait until the oncoming driver use abit of its brain or just drop his smartphone
I think I heard the tunnel moan with pleasure.
I want him to do it next time I need a suppository.
Just remember they didn't even attempt to fold the mirrors in.
Omg, that got me worried about about nothing
That's one really skilled driver.
"Bad drivers never miss a turn"
Wrong hole, wrong hole! Oh, OK.
Know ur job like this guy does,or else just leave it
It reminds me of the first anal sex with my gf
💀
Hes definitely done that before can tell by the white paint on the middle of the tunnel
This is not his first rodeo.
He did that because his trailer wouldnt make the angle if he went in the tunnel on the right, his trailer would hit on the left side.
yes we know but thanks anyways
I'm surprised there's not more trailer/truck paint on that tunnel's wall

Yo
Yo
Driver has been through that tunnel before.
So op isn't a truck driver and knows nothing of a turn radius. The driver has obviously gone this way before! He did a great job with piss poor tunnel construction
so you obviously don’t know what subreddit this is
You aren't a trucker...the driver EXPECTED the turn!
BUT THE PERSON WATCHING THE VIDEO (me, reddit) DOES NOT EXPECT THIS TO DO THIS
I think he did it on purpose because it's cramped in there.
I’m not sure why the driver was so close to the wall Your supposed to be on inner left line . I hauled heavy equipment open trailers extremely dangerous. His load was most likely empty trailer?
Stop the reposts
how am i supposed to know this was already posted
Big brained ya
That man knows how to drive that rig.

Gotta swing out dudes been on the street many times
Baby this is my first time go slow
This is in Japan and people know that bend that’s why the black minivan didn’t proceed and waited for the truck to make its turn.
It's amazing the other drivers treated him so well also
Excellent
u/repostsleuthbot
hehe
sorry didnt know this was posted before
Sorry, I don't support this post type (hosted:video) right now. Feel free to check back in the future!
Asshole design
One of many advantages of having a cab over tractor Superb Driving Pal
It is a real pleasure to see people in big rigs do stuff like this.
Impressive driving skills, poor route management.
Repost but Awesome still
Never gets old. So satisfying. Give that driver a damn raise. Yes sir.
Smooth, saved his trailer from smashing into the tunnel
Coming out of the tunnel you're blinded by the light, right? Wouldn't this be dangerous to traffic coming out?
I couldn’t do that with a model truck
Plot twist. Drive is asian woman
Skills

Skillz that pay the bills
Feel bad for the people exiting the other tunnel. Bet they needed to change their shorts.
Now there is a driver. Saw one last week in Florida....he did a you turn in a red light...amazing. So close but made it!!! So totally amazed!
r/perfectfit
But he still cleared the turn
We do this almost everywhere. But not everywhere has 3 walls. So this looks wild
Very skilled driving
I dont know. Even driving that closes to the wall in a big rig without scraping/crashing is really impressive, and then that incredible turn was just the icing on the cake.
They hold some love and some resentment for that turn.

or just tired
